Volume 6.5 Chapter 42: Splitting The Loot
While Keith and Gabriel were taking a break on the roof,
Diana led Udine to her room, “This is your room, Udine. If you need anything, just ask Keith. He’ll be happy to assist you.”
“Mmhmm.” Udine nodded as she looked around. It was what you expect from a guest room: a desk, bed, and closet. But then she noticed the other bed, “Wait, am I sharing-”
“Yes! You’re sharing with me!” Nephele grinned.
“Can I switch?” Udine quickly turned to Diana. But the great spirit of nature shook, “This is the only room here.” She wasn’t expecting two spirits living here with her. It was a one-person home.
“Hey! Are you saying that I’m annoying?”
“...”
“What’s with the silence?!”
Udine questioned, “Do we really need things like this?” High-ranking spirits didn’t need things like this.
“I said that before to Keith, but he sulked.” Diana also said the same thing to the child. However, what she got was,
Even if you don’t need it, it’s better to have one in an emergency! That was why she had a bed as well. She used it occasionally; it would be a waste not to.
“I’m not going to complain about the free bed!” Nephele jumped into hers and snuggled up. She was surprised at first but had accepted it since it was Keith.
And hey, it was a comfy bed.
“Can I switch with you?” Udine turned to Diana again. She really needed that switch.
“No,” Diana wasn’t having any of that.
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
“I’m right here!” Nephele pouted.
“What’s the matter, Udine?” Diana noticed the blank expression on Udine’s face. Well, it was blanker than usual.
“He’s really an interesting person.” That was the only thing she could describe Keith.
“We know.” The two great spirits agreed; Keith was someone they couldn’t put into words. He had been friendly to them from day one. Usually, others would revere them or treat them in the opposite extreme.
Keith was not like that.
“And he makes good food as well!” Nephele didn’t forget to add that.
“Indeed.” The two nodded. Food was definitely a plus.
“By the way. Diana, are you going to form a contract with him?” Udine questioned.
“We’re already in a contract.”
“Not that. I meant an actual contract with the child.” Udine questioned, “He’s going to break the contract once you’re healed up. That’s soon. So what are you going to do after?” That was something she realized. Diana and Keith had a life-and-death contract, but it was definitely going to be null once Diana recovered.
“I’m thinking about it.”
“Then you should be prepared.”
“If Keith wants to contract with a great spirit, I will do it!” Nephele grinned.
“Eh?” The two spirits looked at the wind spirit.
“What do you mean “Eh?” Keith is pretty much the obvious choice.” For her, at least.
“Shut it and go to sleep. We don’t need to think about things like this.”
“Party pooper.
...
“I’m going out now! Take care!” Keith smiled as he waved and dashed off. He didn’t wait for anyone to respond. That glare from Alfia made him unable to think.
That girl is going to be the death of me. Even while they had their breakfast, her eyes stabbed the back of his neck. It was nerve-wracking.
Can’t focus on her right now. The thing he should be focusing on was the guild! Today was the day he would get the meat! That was why he was so excited. And when he headed to the guild,
“Madison.”
“Keith.”
“Do you know which room I need to go to?”
“Yep, just need to go through there.” Madison pointed in a direction. Keith nodded as he headed into the room. When he did,
“Hello, everyone.” Keith bowed his head. Titus, Galven, Craig, and Morgan have arrived.
“Yo! Keith! You’re the last one.” Craig laughed.
“Sorry about that, I have some things to do.” Keith scratched his head.
“Relax, there’s no need to be so uptight. We’re all friends here.” Morgan smiled,
“Now that we have all our representatives here, we shall split up the loot,” Titus said with a calm expression.
