Volume 5 Chapter 15: Alfia’s Request

Volume 5 Chapter 15: Alfia’s Request

After finishing their class, everyone headed to lunch. Keith stretched his hands back and forth, excited about eating lunch.

"Herrick, are you going to eat with us?"

"Mmhmm." This was a surprise. Herrick usually ate with the others.

"That's cool." Keith smiled. Like that, the group headed to their table.

"Hello, Prince Herrick." Tristan smiled. However, Herrick shook his head,

"Hello." As the group was going to eat,

"Keith, can I eat with you as well?" Keith turned around to see Alfia and Faelyn. Another surprise came up to him now.

"Sure. I don't mind." Keith smiled.

"..." Everyone was silent, and that was due to the addition of three people. It was shocking to see Herrick, let alone Alfia and Faelyn.

"Keith, what did you prepare today?" Alfia asked.

"Oh, some steak and leftovers. You want to try?" Keith smiled.

Alfia's eyes widened, "Is that fine?"

"Yeah."

"Wait a minute! The princess can't taste anything." Faelyn muttered.

……

"Faelyn, you're being unreasonable." Alfia grabbed her head. Faelyn was too over-protective.

"I can't, princess."

"I see." Keith clapped his hands. An idea came to mind, "Then you can have a taste first."

"Eh?"

This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it

"Hmm? Aren't you the poison taster? That means if it goes through you first, then it would be fine." Keith smiled and handed her some food.

"...Alright." Faelyn's expression turned red as she ate the food. She didn't expect Keith to be so direct. There was a pause before she turned to Alfia, "Princess, you can eat it."

Like that, Keith handed some food to Alfia.

"This is really delicious." Alfia was surprised by the food. It was crunchy and delicious.

"Ahh, this is cucumbers and carrots wrapped in ham." It was an idea Keith came up with.

"Can I have more?"

"Sure." Keith didn't mind feeding her.

"Mooch," Herrick muttered.

Alfia frowned, "Don't want to hear that from you."

Everyone could see the fireworks coming from both Alfia and Herrick. It was the norm.

"Now, now. There's no need to fight with one another. Also, how's your spirit doing?" Keith remembered the bird that was with her.

"My spirits doing fine."

"Are you sure?" The expression said otherwise. It was weird as Alfia looked away, not trying to meet his gaze. Alfia scratched her head,

"You see, my familiar has been acting up."

"Eh?"

"I came here to ask for a favor."

"What kind of favor?" Keith tilted his head.

"Can my familiars stay at your island?"

"Hmm? My island?"

"Yes. My spirit has been acting out these past few days. It kept asking to stay at your island." Alfia groaned as she explained. This situation had kept her up all night.

"Heh? Can't you control your familiar? How are you this weak?" Herrick scoffed. But that caused Alfia to glare at him again.

It was a cat and a dog.

"Sure, I'm alright with it." Keith didn't mind.

"Really?"

"If your spirit behaves, it can stay." The spirit probably felt lonely. Fira had Mir and Aria, and it likely wanted to play with the two.

"Don't worry! My spirit won't do anything bad."

"Good." Like that, they continued to eat without a thought. But there were a few that wanted to say some things.

...

"What's the matter?" Keith noticed the weird expressions on the others' faces. Well, Herrick was the only one who didn't care.

"Keith, you're too relaxed with these types of things." Tristan gave a light chuckle. Even he was surprised by how he was. There was something.

"What? We're only talking with others." It was Herrick and Alfia.

"Besides the communication skills, don't you feel the pressure?" Throughout their lunch, everyone could feel it.

"Oh, that." Keith stared at the sky, "I gave up a long time ago." This was something he had accepted. Of course, he could feel the pressure. But it happened too many times that he accepted this.

He went from the denial phase into the acceptance.

"...I see." The others had no words to console him.

...

"Princess, why are you doing this?" As Keith headed home, Alfia and Faelyn did the same. But the latter was confused as to what happened.

This was a serious issue.

"You don't need to worry so much. Keith also has a spirit." Alfia consoled her. She understood why Faelyn was worried.

"He tamed a spirit?" Faelyn's eyes widened.

"Mmhmm. And my spirit had fun staying there. We can trust him."

"What?!" Faelyn was surprised by her words. She understood Alfia's spirit was not the type to be friends with others. It was a lofty spirit.

For it to like someone was surprising.

Noticing her expression, Alfia chuckled. You might die if you know he has a great spirit living there. Just the thought was unbelievable for her. She was still having time to accept that something like this had happened.

"But princess, when did you have time to visit his island?" This was news to her.

"...Nothing." Alfia looked away, trying her best not to listen.
