Volume 6 Chapter 46: Bone Marrow

Eat alone? What did he mean by this?! Didn't we finish the bone slices?! Herrick's voice cracked as he questioned, "Do you mean you'll make more?" He could mean cooking more portions for himself. It had to be...right?

Keith shook his head, "No. I'm not planning to cook more boffalo slices. I'm going to be trying the other thing." He already ate it and didn't need to try it again.

"..." WHAT OTHER THING?! THERE WAS ANOTHER THING!

Realizing their stunned expression, Keith pointed at the oven, "Did you guys not notice the oven?" With a swift turn of their heads, they saw the oven, its interior revealing a mysterious dish baking.

"..." There was something in there?! They were so focused on the slices to even notice it!

"Was that supposed to be our appetizer?" Carolyn questioned. There was a lot of hope in her voice as she asked. She wished it wasn't what she thought it was.

"No. The boffalo bones and the rest were supposed to be the appetizers." The main course was in the oven.

"..."

"Okay, since you guys are full from that, I will-" "Keith, we're hungry!"

While Keith was about to end the conversation, Aria and the spirit squad entered the kitchen. After playing for some time, they got hungry.

"Then you guys can eat this dish with me." "Really?" "Yep, yep." He needed more mouth since that bone is so big.

"Yay!" "Go to the dining room and wait. I'm going to bring it out in a few seconds." There were only a few seconds on the timer.

Ding! When he heard that, Keith opened the oven, and the smell coming from the bone was incredible! The aroma was so much denser than the boffalos! Keith grinned as he took the bone out.

Out of eagerness to try, Keith headed to the dining room, ignoring the blank looks the others had. Once Keith had left,

"Dammit!" Herrick cried as he dropped to his knees in defeat. And he wasn't the only one.

"How could this be?!" "We are so stupid!"

Melor and Jack followed Herrick's lead. Alfia, Carolyn, and Faelyn held their faces while Sarah and Nephele stared into space. Gabriel was the only one who wasn't affected too much. He could only groan at this loss.

The adults weren't faring well either. Aidiun, Sohma, and Diana did the same. Cadmus was the only one flipping out.

"What was that smell?!" He couldn't believe a smell that existed. Just the bone walking past him was enough to cause his brain to jumble up! As they wondered what he made,

"!" Everyone's eyes widened as they looked at the door.

"What was that smell?!" The smell just became ten times more intense! Whatever the case, they must go! They needed to find out what they missed?!

...

A few seconds prior,

"Keith! That's a big bone!" Fira pointed at the giant bone! It was way larger than the one he worked with before.

"Mmhmm. I fought with it and obtained it." Keith chuckled.

"Are we going to eat the bone?"

"Kinda. What we're going to eat is the insides." Bone marrow. That was what Keith was concentrating on. I wonder how delicious it would be! That was why he brought up the hatchet. He came down on the bone. As the bone was split in two, an explosion of aroma shot forth!

It was a complex flavor of different types of meats blended together. Keith quickly shook his head to get out of the daze. That thing actually hypnotized me! The little ones were the same as well. As Keith was going to eat,

"Hold it!" Cadmus called out.

"Hmm? What's the matter? And you guys are all hiding behind the door?" Besides the dragon, the rest were behind the door.

"I think we need to check for poison."

"Eh?" You want to check for poison?

"As an ancient dragon, I can-Gah!" Before Cadmus could say anything, Sohma slammed him to the ground.

"Sorry. This person must have gone crazy." Sohma didn't wait as he dragged Cadmus out of the room. Keith scratched his head, wanting to say something.

"Can we eat it now?" Fira and the other spirits were ready to pounce! Keith chuckled,

"Not yet. I need to add the finishing touch to it."

"He's going to put another thing on it?!" "What else is he going to do?!" The audience in the back muttered.
