Volume 5 Chapter 40: Challenge
"I can't take it anymore!" Herrick roared as he threw the book and egg on the ground! His expression was so exhausted from holding back his fiery and anger. Carolyn and the others tilted their heads,
"So he finally lost it."
"I expected this."
"He did hold up for a few days."
Herrick had been balancing the book and egg on his head for a few days. But that was something Carolyn and the rest knew wouldn't last. Herrick was going to break. From his expression, all of them could tell. It was only a matter of time.
"Come on, is complaining the only thing you can do?" Keith shook his head. Keith was the person who would come to stop him. Herrick glared at Keith,
"What is this even for?! How does this make me stronger?!" Herrick roared. He couldn't believe it. The only thought going through his mind was: this training is bull! He had it on his head all the time, but it didn't make a difference!
His body didn't get even stronger! The only thing he got was ridicule!
Even Melor gave him a strange look as he watched.
"Hah?" It was Keith's turn to give him a strange look, "You thought this training was to strengthen your body?'
"...It wasn't?" "Yeah, it never was,"
"Huh?!" When that was said, Herrick wasn't the only one who was surprised.

Keith turned to them, "Huh? What did you think it was?"
"Strengthening his core?!" From what Herrick moved, it seemed to strengthen the core.
"No, that was Herrick's doing. That was never my intention." Herrick was adding squats in there for no reason. There were also times when he was doing it with one leg. However, Keith never did tell him to do it.
"And I told you guys this," Keith remembered them overhearing what he said to Alfia.
"..." We thought you were joking!
"Are you trying to make fun of me?!" Herrick grabbed Keith by the collar. He was going to destroy him for everything.
"Easy now, Herrick!" The others quickly got up from their chairs. They understood why Herrick was mad. However, they didn't want a bloodbath!
"Hah," Keith was the only calm one, and he stated, "You still didn't get what I'm trying to do?" It was so easy to understand!
"What is it?"
"Let me tell you, training your body and increasing your strength isn't something you need." Keith never intended to train his body.
"Huh?! Strength is everything!"
"And that's why you can never beat me and Gabriel. Your strength is probably the best out of everyone in the class. But that's the only thing you have."
"That's the only thing you need!" Strength was the key to everything!
"Are you kidding me? Besides everything but fighting, you would lose to Arlo." Keith turned to Arlo, "Sorry for the dig, Arlo."
"It's fine, Leader." Arlo waved his hand. There was nothing to say about it. Arlo was the weakest one on the island. He had accepted this long ago.
"I won't lose to him!" Herrick scoffed. There was no way he would lose to a D-class student. He was in S-class.
"If you really think you would win. How about a wager?" Keith smirked. The others stared at that grin. What is he planning this time?
"What?"
"Let's have a little competition. If you really think you can win against Arlo, then prove it. If you win, I'll stop making you do these things. And you can even leave the island." There was no point in letting Herrick continue to stay. Everyone could tell Herrick really didn't want to be here.
"If you lose, continue the exercise and not complain about it."
"Fine!" Herrick turned serious, "What is this competition?!"
"Leader?!" Arlo was dumbfounded. Why was he part of this?! Keith smirked, "You don't have to worry about it. I have full faith in your skills."
"..." Keith's eyes were full of confidence. There was no doubt in them at all.
"U-understood," Arlo nodded. Since Keith trusted him so much, he would do so.
Carolyn and the others were surprised by his move. Alfia questioned, "Is this a good move?"
"I don't know. When Keith does things, it's usually something really smart or dare-devil." There were no in-betweens.
"..." Arlo and Herrick stood beside one another. There was such a disparity between the two. Herrick was three times the size of Arlo.
