Volume 6.5 Chapter 36: We Need Water
The whole patch of land had turned barren and desolate! Keith was left stunned, witnessing the damage that was caused. Gabriel muttered, "We came back, and it became like this."
"The vegetables!" Herrick and Melor screamed!
"How did it become like this?" Keith's expression twisted as he looked around. The dirt was strange; it had an odd color to it.
"I managed to halt it, but the damage was already done." Diana, in the midst of her chores, felt a disturbance. Hastily, she went to the garden, only to find it in ruins.
"It's not your fault." Alfia quickly consoled her. While she did, Keith walked over to the dirt and examined it. Something strange happened next!
Poof! The dirt turned into dust! It became molecules and was blown away by the wind!
"What the?!" The others saw what occurred. Faelyn asked, "Keith, do you know what's happening?"
"The water was sucked out." "Hmm?"
"There's no water in this dirt." That was what Keith realized. The soil became that color because the water was sucked dry.
"How did all the water disappear?" "Because of the seed I planted."
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
"You planted a seed?"
"It's that seed," Diana realized and explained to the others, "Keith had obtained a seed from the dungeon."
"I didn't think it would cause this much damage. Sorry about that." Keith quickly apologized.
"It's fine. But we need to do some cleanup." About half of the vegetable field was destroyed due to the seed. The fruits were withered.
"Let's quickly move them." The fresh ones will be brought away, while the withered ones will be used as compost. As Keith picked up an orange, it turned into powder.
"Ugh!" Keith sighed deeply as he looked at everything. They had moved it into a free yard. While the others tended to the living fruits and vegetables,
"How are we going to deal with the seed," Alfia questioned. The seed was going to be an issue.
"I don't know what to do with either." Keith scratched his head; this was one strange seed.
"Keith, this seed needs a lot of water."
"I see. But how much water does it need?" From how dry the ground was around them, it absorbed a lot. But the seed looked normal. That could only mean the amount it needed was absurd.
Diana shook her head, "It will require a special type of water."
"Ahh, do you mean it needs water with a lot of mana?" Alfia questioned. Diana nodded, "Yes, this seed is special as it requires much of this."
"So, how do we get it?"
"It's going to be difficult." Diana scratched her head.
"Eh?" "The easiest way is to use water spirit to deal with this."
"Alfia, don't you have a water spirit?" If he remembered correctly, the wolf spirit Alfia tamed was a water spirit.
"I do." "Not going to help. This seed requires a lot more mana than what it could provide."
"..." Keith went silent when he heard that. However, he clapped his hands together, "There's no point in thinking about it right now."
"Keith." "Of course, I'm a little bummed out. However, what we really need to focus on is to plant these in a different location." Keith couldn't forget about that. With how it took the soil, they would need to do something about it.
"By the way, will the soil recover?"
"In a week or two." "That's good." Keith clapped his hands, "Alright, there's nothing to worry about now." He was content with this. I'll find a way to deal with this seed later. He wasn't going to stop growing it with this setback.
