Volume 6 Chapter 29: Skeleton Soldiers
"Phew. We really cut them down," Gabriel stared at the pile of bones on the ground. The group dashed in and took out the boffalos in a couple of blows. As a result, piles of bones were riddled in front of them.
"Alright, I'm going to store them." Keith raised his storage ring, and the bones were sucked in.
"But is that really the only thing here?" Herrick looked around. There were only these boffalos.
"Mmhmm, this section is meant to be really simple." Keith smiled, then turned serious, "But we have to be serious for the next one."
"Understood." Everyone nodded. With that, they headed into another tunnel. As they walked,
"This is a big tunnel?" Looking around, it was wide enough for 20 more people.
"!" Keith raised his hand, causing everyone to halt their movement. His eyes were tense. One look was enough for them to know there were monsters.
"Herrick, how many in the front?" Keith could feel movement from the front. However, he didn't know how much. Herrick, on the other hand, had sensitive ears.
"At least ten. But they feel thin." Several footsteps started to get closer to them. However, he could tell the opponent was weak. If the person was heavy, the footsteps would cause a rumble and thicker sound. However, what he heard was really faint footsteps.
"It's skeleton soldiers. Prepare yourselves." Keith ordered. Herrick and Melor raised their weapons, ready for a rumble.
White skeletons came out from the shadows. All of them wore broken-down armor. Their eyes were hollowed as they stared at the group. Without any hesitation, they didn't hesitate and charged at them!

"Hmpf!" Melor swung his axe, splitting the soldier in half. It was a swift and clean kill.
"These guys are lightweights." Melor scoffed.
"Don't let your guard down!" Keith shouted.
"Eh?" Herrick looked down and saw the skeleton soldier still moving. Even without half of its body, it can still move! And it was ready to stab Melor's feet! However,
"Hmpf!" Faelyn stabbed the skeleton before it could.
"Thanks." "Keep focus."
"Smash their skulls. If you do that, they will stop moving." The skeleton soldiers had one weakness; their skull. As long as that was broken, they couldn't move.
"Understood!" Melor nodded. Now, everyone's focus was on the skulls. As they did,
"There is no way this is 10!" There were more than 20 right here!
"I couldn't gauge it!" Herrick groaned as he continued to swing his sword.
"Melor, Herrick! Back up now!" The two listened as they jumped backward and away from the soldier.
"Burn! Blaze rush!" "Shred! Wind slicer!" A fireball and tornado passed their face, burning and shredding the skeletons.
"Good job, everyone." Keith clapped his hand, "We did pretty well for our first fight as a group."
"Yahoo!"
"Arlo, Jack, Faelyn. Good job on forcing the monsters to the middle." Keith smiled. The three did their jobs correctly.
"Melor and Herrick, you guys too. Be more cautious. These skeletons won't stop even if you slice them in half. They would keep coming until you crush their skull."
"I understand. I will be more cautious." Herrick nodded.
"Good, because this isn't the end of our fight." Keith turned to the shadows. Everyone turned as well. What came out was even more soldiers.
"We got to get used to it!" Melor raised his ax again.
"Let's get to work! Alfia, Carolyn, prepare the next set of magic!"
"Understood!" Carolyn and Faelyn started to chant.
"I'm going to crush them!" Herrick roared as he struck at them.
