Volume 5 Chapter 62: The Food
Sarah nodded, and the group entered the mansion. They weren't the first to arrive; many students arrived ahead of them. Well, it was more like they lived here. However, the three were still surprised.
"Guys, you don't have to be so tense," Gabriel noticed how Sarah and Jack fidgeted around.
"You can say that. But do you know how many high-ranking nobles there are here!" From what Jack spotted, there were plenty! Probably barrels full of them! It wasn't the only ones in their kingdom who came here. Nobles of different human kingdoms conversing with one another.
"Don't you see how people from viscount or lower are also scared?" Jack pointed in a direction. Some students stood on the sidelines. Clearly, they were from lower noble families, trying their best not to stand out.
The difference between nobles of a upper-rank vs a lower rank was heaven and earth. That was because one couldn't handle the repercussions if they were targeted.
"As long as you guys are with me or Gabriel, you'll be fine," Carolyn assured. She was a princess. Nothing was going to happen to them as long as she was there.
"You guys made it," Tristan and Maria spotted the group.
"Senior Maria, Senior Tristan, the two of you are a match made in heaven!" Sarah couldn't help but compliment. The two wore matching outfits.
Tristan smiled, "Thank you so much. But you should thank Maria. She was the one who decided on the outfit. She was so cute."
"Dear." Maria's expression turned red. She turned to the others with a cough, "You guys can go around and mingle with the guests. Carolyn, we need you for something."
"Eh? You do?" Carolyn looked at her friends. This was a predicament.

"Go for it, Carolyn. We'll stay out of trouble, unlike a certain fellow." Jack joked. There was only one person who he could be talking about. That caused Sarah to slap his head,
"You don't have to worry about anything. Gabriel will watch over us."
"Mmhmm,"
"Thanks." Carolyn smiled as she headed off with Tristan and Maria. As they left, "You really wanted to see him here, right?"
"Eh?"
"You can't lie to me, Carolyn. You've been out of it lately because of a certain fellow." Maria grinned.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
Maria shook her head. This child.
"I see several students in my class." Jack glanced around and noticed some of his classmates there.
"Almost all humans came here," A voice spoke. It was none other than Krystal. She wore a black dress. It was a little surprising for Gabriel and the two because of her cold attitude.
"Really? Everyone came?" Gabriel was surprised.
Krystal nodded, "Yes. The party is to increase connections." The main goal of this party was to allow nobles to form alliances with other nobles of a different kingdom.
"Aren't you going to do that as well, Krystal?" She was the heir to a grand duke.
"Not interested." Krystal shook her head, "Also, where is Keith?"
"He said he didn't want to come." That caused Krystal to frown,
"Can he do that?"
"He can...I think?" The man had no care in the world. Krystal could only shake her head. While she was thinking about this,
"Everyone!" Tristan spoke up, "Thank you all for coming to this party. Please have a great time and be merry!" When that was said, everyone cheered.
"Ugh," Sarah started to groan.
"What's the matter?" Krystal noticed the contorted expression Sarah had.
"The food,"
"What about the food?"
"It tastes bad."
"Eh?" Krystal was a little dumbfounded. You care about the food? Gabriel and Jack tried the food. But when they did, they understood why she didn't like it.
They made the same expression!
"Is it that bad?" Krystal didn't understand. Tristan shouldn't have prepared low-quality food. She tried the food and looked at them, "There's nothing wrong with it." The taste was what anyone would expect. However, Jack shook his head,
"Keith's food is ten times better than this."
"..." Keith's food?
"Yeah. Keith's cooking is really delicious."
"Indeed," Gabriel nodded and noted, "Shouldn't they be having dinner right about now?" Now that he thought about it, it was time for dinner.
"Darn it! What could he be cooking right now?!" Jack cursed.
"I'm wondering if Arlo and Herrick are eating our portions," Gabriel muttered.
"Eh?"
"Keith is spacy. He might have made our portion by mistake."
"..."
"...." Krystal stared at them weirdly.
