Volume 5 Chapter 48: Elephant In The Room
"Hahhh," A deep sigh came from Keith's mouth, "Today's class was a little harder, don't you think?"
"...." However, no one responded to him.
"Come on, why are all of you so silent?"
"Keith, are you really not going to talk about the elephant in the room?" Alfia glared. The guy shook his head,
"What elephant in the room?"
"Keith?" Everyone's eyes changed as they stared at him.
"Why you gotta say my name like that if I'm the cause?!" This was not his fault...maybe.
"Usually, when strange things occur, it's usually your fault," Alfia answered. She said it with the most certain tone ever. There was no way this wasn't his fault.
"Indeed," Faelyn nodded. These last few days, Faelyn had opened up to Keith. After the incident, it seemed that distance they had shortened by a mile.
"This time, it wasn't me," Keith waved his hand. Don't look at me with that.
"How could it not be you? Why did Herrick bring a plant with him?!" Alfia sighed as she pointed at the man!
"Because he wanted to," Keith shrugged his shoulders. Herrick had brought the plant with him to class. That was something he didn't expect as well.
The man stared intently at the plant. Anyone could tell he cared for the plant. But it looked more like a wild animal glaring intensely at prey.
"He's freaking the other students out," Alfia noticed how some students didn't dare go near Herrick. That aura was intense.

"Ahh, do you need water?" Herrick quickly took out a water bottle and poured it into the pot. The bud was really sensitive. If it didn't have enough sunlight, it would shake around.
For water, the bud would start to change color!
Listen to what Master Fira said. I have to keep a constant watch over it! If he took a second off of it, it would wilt. There was no way he could let this happen.
"Did he not get enough sleep?" Carolyn whispered. What made Herrick even more dangerous was the dark eyes he had.
"I think he got some. Fira had been watching that plant at night for him," Fira assisted Herrick as much as she could.
Aidiun entered class, "Let's begin the lecture."
...
During lunch, Herrick joined Keith. As they were going to eat,
"Here, little Herc, have some water,"
"Little Herc?" Everyone blinked their eyes. Who's that?!
"Yeah, that's the name of my plant," Herrick proudly smirked. Since the plant would be with him all the time, he should give it a name!
"...I see," The others didn't know what to say to improve this.
"What's this?! A beastman holding a plant?!"
"What a joke!" Some students snickered at Herrick.
"Hey!" Alfia's expression turned dark. How could these people talk about him like that? He was weird. But that didn't mean they could say anything about him.
For Herrick,
"Little Herc, do you need more sunlight?!" Herrick quickly rushed to the window, raising the pot to give sunlight.
"Tch! Weirdo!" The students didn't look at him any longer as they walked away. The way he was acting was seriously dangerous.
"Amazing," "He actually didn't blow a fuse."
Everyone was amazed. Herrick would pop his lid and fight those guys. That was what everyone thought. The man definitely heard what they said.
"Yes, you're good now?" Herrick was too focused on his plant to give a damn about them. He turned to Keith,
"Keith, can we find a space with sunlight and water?" The table they sat in was nowhere near any of that.
"Sure," Keith nodded. Herrick turned to Alfia,
"Hey,"
"What is it?"
"I want your spirits,"
"Eh?!" "What are you saying?!" Alfia was speechless while Faelyn popped her lid. Asking for Alfia's spirits?! Was he trying to ask for a fight?
Keith sighed, "Herrick, you either explain it or rephrase your words." He understood why he asked this. But the way he said it was just asking for trouble.
"Master Fira said that having the wolf and bird there will help little Herc. That's why I need them to stay on the island," Besides Fira, the wolf and bird assisted him. It was a team effort.
"...Sure," Alfia sighed as she understood now.
"Princess?!" Faelyn's eyes widened. How could she agree so easily?! However, Alfia looked up in the sky,
"I've been wondering whether or not those spirits are mine."
"Huh?!" Those spirits are contracted with you. The last time Faelyn checked, they were with Alfia.
Carolyn pat Alfia's shoulders.
"I feel for you," Carolyn gave her a look of understanding.
"Thank you," Alfia said, not hesitating to hug the girl.
