CHAPTER 958 THE SEARCH FOR DARREN

The Rule Soul Avatar's search for the Killing Rule had finally come to an end. He immediately ingrained

Garth, the Governor of the Holy City stood up and said, "There is indeed another young man named

Darren in the Holy City, but he's currently in the holy emperor's tomb at the moment. Could it be that

that's the person you're looking for?"

The thought of the other Darren, the one in the holy emperor's tomb, had instantly came up in Garth's

mind. The two Darrens looked so similar in appearance that Garth initially thought the other Darren

must have had gotten out of the holy emperor's tomb already.

It made Garth feel silly now for confusing the two Darrens with each other.

With his special method, he drew the face of the other Darren in the air and showed it to the Rule Soul

Avatar.

"It's him." The Rule Soul Avatar nodded his head.

"Some warriors in my city know Darren. Why don't you come with me and we'll ask them?" A huge

smile spread over Garth's face. It made him look pleased for inviting such a powerful man over his city.

"Very well." Again, the Rule Soul Avatar merely nodded his head.

"Darren, you look exactly like the other Darren that Garth spoke of. Are you, by chance, brothers?"

Francis looked over at the avatar curiously. Their likeness made them look like they were related by

blood, but why would they have similar names as well? This confused him greatly.

"I am Darren's avatar." The revelation made everyone's heart jump.

This strong young man turned out to be Darren's avatar! This was unbelievable indeed.

Meanwhile, back at the inheritance area in the holy emperor's tomb.

Darren and Hailey were still deep into their cultivation and hadn't woken up yet.

Around them, the dark sea bubbled.

Until one day, Darren suddenly opened his eyes after sensing an approaching aura.

The temperature dropped drastically, making their surroundings ten thousand times colder than before.

While Darren could withstand such freezing temperature because of his True Ice Spiritual Body, Hailey

was instantly frozen.

But the ice soon cracked and shattered as soon as Hailey used her powers to free herself.

Nonetheless, it didn't solve the problem with the temperature.

"What's happening, Darren?"

But just as soon as she asked, Hailey's body was frozen again.

Darren conjured up a flame intent and surrounded Hailey with it to keep her warm. And while it couldn't

directly counteract the cold, it was enough to keep it at bay.

"Is she here?"

The biting cold was familiar to Darren. It reminded him of his test with the Water Spirit.

Then a beautiful, blue figure appeared in front of them.

"It is you!" Darren's face darkened immediately.

Hailey was stunned to find such a fairy-like beauty with them.

'What a beautiful girl!' Hailey exclaimed in her mind.

On the other hand, the Water Spirit also found Hailey gorgeous. In fact, it made her a bit jealous

because of it.

'How could this human girl be so beautiful?' she thought to herself.

"Why did you lie to me, Water Spirit?" Darren's cold voice interrupted her train of thought.

"I'm sorry, Darren. I didn't mean to deceive you," the Water Spirit whispered.

"You promised that you'd let me pass the test, but instead you put me into this strange sea. And now

you're saying that you didn't mean to lie to me? Tell me, why did you come here? What do you want

from me?" Darren laughed, but his face remained cold and disdainful.

"I...I just wanted to know if you're alright. It was risky for me to come here, but I feel guilty for bringing

you here. I had no choice, you see. My master had ordered me to guard my area. I couldn't go against

his wishes, so I had to send you to the most difficult test," the Water Spirit explained.

Darren was still too upset to say anything else.

"Can you just tell us what the test is? We've been stuck here for so many days, but we did not dare go

out," said Hailey.

"I only came here to tell Darren everything I know. After all, he saved my life," the Water Spirit said,

rather defensively, as she studied Hailey from head to toe.

"Saved you? Are you kidding me? How did that count as saving you?"

Darren tried to recall what had transpired between them, but he still couldn't understand why the Water

Spirit claimed that he had saved her. Just the thought of it was ridiculous.

"I'm serious, Darren. You got me out of the Absolute Cold Pool. It may seem trivial to you, but I would

have been trapped there forever if it wasn't for you. The master had condemned me stay there for all

eternity.

Therefore, I owe you for taking me out of there. And while I still can't go outside, at least I'm able to go

to other test areas now."

The Water Spirit seemed sincere enough as she said this.

"Alright. I believe you. Now tell us what the test is in here."

The Water Spirit nodded her head and said, "This test is called 'Rivals'. Since both of you failed the

second test, you two will be facing the same rival. If you defeat him, then you pass this test."

"Who will we be fighting? Will it be the apes on the shore?" Darren asked.

"No. Those apes are just normal creatures. Your rival will be much more powerful. In fact, it would be

my master."

Upon hearing this, Darren and Hailey looked at each other. Their shocked faces were mirrored in each

other's eyes.

"Didn't your master die a long time ago? How are we going to face him?" Hailey asked in surprise.

"It's true that my master is already dead. But this space is special because it has brought you to the

and you are now a millions years back into the past," the Water Spirit said, cautiously.

Both Darren and Hailey were taken aback by this information.
