CHAPTER 1507 HOW TO SAVE HIM
"Aunt Josie, there is still a breath of life in your husband. Why don't you let my avatar treat him and see
if he's able to make a recovery?"
They had been staying there for some time now and Darren noticed that Josie always seemed dejected
when she looked at the man lying on the ice bed.
This was the root of why she had become so gaunt and withered. The one she loved more than
anything was right in front of her, but he was barely there, just wasting away, lifeless. How could she
not be sad?
Josie shook her head slightly and replied, "Even my god's power can't cure him. Yours can't either."
Her husband's name was Ferris Ji. He had once been one of the most outstanding reclusive cultivators
of the human race. But he had then been detected by the spiritual sense of a chief god and was left
with no choice but to escape into the abyss.
When the chief god's projection surrounded the Chu Clan and attacked them without mercy, he saved
Josie, and the two of them had been together ever since.
But that mission had exposed Ferris Ji's existence to the chief god, who then sent his projection after
him, chasing him down and never stopping. Unfortunately, he was eventually caught up to and had
taken some serious damage and was left badly injured. He had been unconscious since then.
"Aunt Josie, Xavier's rule cultivation is very powerful. He may be able to do it. Just let him at least try,"
Darren pleaded.
The Rule Soul Avatar nodded as well and added, "Aunt Josie, I have the Resurrection Force; it's
capable of bringing the dead back to life."
"Really?" Josie did not know what the Resurrection Force was, but when she saw Darren and the Rule
Soul Avatar's confidence, a spark of hope suddenly ignited in her heart. "In that case, Xavier, put this
soft armor on first and go see your uncle Ferris."
"As you say, Aunt Josie." The Rule Soul Avatar took the suit of armor from her and put it on. It was
used to resist the pressure from the ice bed.
The Rule Soul Avatar walked over to the ice bed without difficulty now that he was properly equipped.
Ferris Ji was lying on the ice bed, wearing a tenacious look on his face, as if he were still fighting, still
holding on. But his lips were dry and pale. He looked like he were dead.
The Rule Soul Avatar activated his silvery eyes and began examining Ferris Ji's injury.
Of course, he did not dare to invade into Ferris' body with them. He only observed the abnormality
through the law silk threads connected to his body.
The more the Rule Soul Avatar investigated the problem, the more tightly he frowned.
He saw wisps of golden law silk threads, like long worms, gathered on the surface of his body.
These were the cause of the problem, the problem left behind by the chief god's power.
"It's no wonder he's unable to wake up." The Rule Soul Avatar's head began to ache from the strain
and he withdrew himself out of the silvery eyes state.
Josie heard his words and her eyebrows were suddenly raised. "Xavier, have you discovered the
issue?"
"Yes, I have." The Rule Soul Avatar nodded. "The god's power of the chief god is left in Uncle Ferris'
body. It's a special kind of suppressive god's power; it's quite unique. If I remove it, there is a chance I
can wake him."
"Really?" Josie asked, trembling with excitement. Her husband had been this way so long that she
wondered if it was even possible to cure him.
"Aunt Josie, worry not. I will do my best, but it may take some time."
"I understand. Thank you, Xavier." Josie could almost not contain her joy and was close to bursting into
tears, but she managed to hold it in.
"It is... It's my duty," responded the Rule Soul Avatar. He had been trying to learn Darren's way of
speaking to make up for his lack of human emotions.
His awkward words made everyone giggle again.
"Well then, what are you waiting for? Save your uncle!" Jenifer scolded with a naughty smile.
"Uh..."
The Rule Soul Avatar turned around and sat cross-legged on the edge of the ice bed, entering the
silvery eyes state once more.
A wisp of invisible silvery light floated steadily towards a golden silk thread.
Crack!
An incredibly powerful explosion erupted when the two wisps of light collided. If not for the protection
from the powerful barrier around the ice bed, the stone chamber would surely have collapsed from the
impact.
The Rule Soul Avatar was hit hard though, his body almost breaking down from it.
The golden silk thread was certainly not to be trifled with!
If collisions like this happened a few more times, it was very likely the Rule Soul Avatar's silvery eyes
would be damaged.
There were so many golden silk threads that it would take millions of years at the least to destroy them
one at a time.
By then, Ferris Ji would likely die from vitality failure before he was able to help him.
He needed to find a better way to approach this.
He really wanted to get Ferris Ji into the Source of Laws, where he might be able to find some law to
suppress the golden silk threads.
However, he would not dare to try that. He had caused too much trouble in the Source of Laws twice
already. The creatures hiding within it hated him with every ounce of their being and wanted nothing
more than to kill him.
Taking Ferris Ji there did not seem a feasible option in light of this.
"Xavier, what's going on? Do you think you can save your uncle?" asked Josie anxiously.
"Yes, I believe I can." The Rule Soul Avatar did not want to disappoint her.
"That's...amazing!" Josie finally managed a smile while she wept. "Saul, your dad might come back to
us."
"Aunt Josie, you may rest easy. If my avatar says he can cure Uncle Ferris, he will definitely make it
happen," Darren said, reassuring and comforting Josie.
"Okay. Okay good," she replied with a slight nod. She did not seem to want to get her hopes too high.
The Rule Soul Avatar then transferred Ferris Ji to his own space for Josie's sake, so that Josie would
not watch the treatment process and worry.
He was now alone and free to work out how to best treat Ferris Ji, while the others waited outside
expectantly.
Days went by and in the blink of an eye, a year had passed. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
In that year, Darren and the others lived quaint, peaceful lives. They took walks and chatted in his small
world when they had nothing of real importance to do. The whole family lived a life of leisure, a life
without stress.
During this period, Darren had inquired with the Rule Soul Avatar several times about his progress, but
he replied saying that the specific treatment method was still being perfected.
"Hello, my real body," said the Rule Soul Avatar one day, taking the initiative this time to send a
message to Darren.
This was somewhat unusual.
"What seems to be the problem?"
"I figured out a way to save him, but it will require you to put yourself at risk," revealed the Rule Soul
Avatar.
"Just tell me what to do," Darren replied confidently. It did not matter what it was. He was ready.
"I need soul crystals."
"Soul crystals? I don't have them anymore." Darren thought he was referring to the dark-spirit crystals.
"I mean the crystal of a condensed soul, not the dark-spirit crystal," the Rule Soul Avatar clarified. Back
when Darren created his avatar, he had used the dark-spirit crystals to do so. This time, the Rule Soul
Avatar needed real soul crystals.
"Give me the details. How do I get the soul crystals?" Darren asked, getting straight to the point.
"It's actually very simple. All you need to do is kill other creatures and compress their souls into crystals
with your god's power. The more, the better," answered the Rule Soul Avatar.
"Got it, I'll get on it right away!"
There were numerous dangerous and evil creatures in the abyss. Finding some weak ones to produce
crystals was not particularly difficult.
"Don't let Aunt Josie know about this. If she went out to kill, she would most likely be detected by the
chief god's projection. This is why I'm asking you to take the risk," the Rule Soul Avatar told Darren.
Truthfully, he didn't want Darren to take any risks at all, but he knew that bringing back the person his
aunt loved was more important to him.
"Don't worry. I understand," Darren replied, knowing of the dangers they faced.
After that, Darren made an announcement to Josie, Elsa and Jenifer that he needed to cultivate in
seclusion on the outside for a period of time.
"Why do you need to go out to cultivate in seclusion? Can't you accomplish the same thing here?" Elsa
complained, not entirely happy with Darren's revelation.
"I can't do that here. The godly energy is too thin to meet my requirements with constant supply,"
Darren said casually, lying.
"Don't worry about me. I will find somewhere safe," Darren added.
"Well, alright then."
Elsa and Josie didn't think on it for much longer and agreed to let Darren leave to cultivate in seclusion.
