CHAPTER 896 READY TO GO
Chandler frowned when he saw them.
"What happened?"
"I beat them. The Misty Emperor launched soul attacks on them and I beat them until they were barely
breathing,"
Darren explained. Chandler breathed a sigh of relief.
"You did the right thing. Soul torture is too unbearable. It's not easy to patch them up either, considering
how broken their bodies were," Chandler said.
"It doesn't matter now. Sir, you just need to find someone to expel the attack methods left in their souls.
I will invite the old man from the Mythological Palace to heal them with Life True Rule."
"Okay, that's not too hard."
Chandler nodded and left to find a rule cultivator in the senior Holy Realm. Darren began to summon
the short, old man.
A month later, Scott and the others fully recuperated with the help of the Life True Rule. They needed
to rest for six months.
"Darren, we've arranged everything about you going to the eighteen cities. Are you ready?"
Chandler came to Darren, bearing the news.
The land where the forbidden areas were located was just a small corner of the Lothlann Continent.
There weren't that many inhabitants and talents.
On the other hand, talents from far and wide resided in the eighteen cities. That was where they
needed to go.
"I don't have anything to prepare. I can go there any time."
Darren also wanted to meet the talents there. It would help him greatly improve his realm.
Most importantly, Darren wanted to become a tribulation holy warrior.
"Alright. I'm glad that you want to go there. But I have to remind you that there are all kinds of people in
the eighteen cities. There are no rules in place to discipline the major forces. You must be careful."
"Don't worry. I can protect myself," Darren said.
"But you don't really possess the strength of the half-step emperor. You should try to be as
inconspicuous as possible. Moreover, there have been rumors that the 'killing policy' has been set. That
means killing is not prohibited, so there will be more chaos in the cities."
"Killing policy? Why does such a policy exist?"
"Who knows? I heard that they think only death and destruction could turn a warrior from good to
great," Chandler sighed. There was nothing he could do about it.
"But you don't have to worry too much. The Sacred Palace is considered powerful in the eighteen
cities. As long as you don't provoke anyone much stronger than you on purpose, you will be safe,"
Chandler added.
"Got it, sir. Thank you for reminding me of this." Darren bowed in gratitude.
Chandler gave Darren a token and a scroll which introduced the domains of all forces. It also contained
some information about some dangerous people.
"By the way, you can take someone along with you. Who are you going to bring?"
Before Darren could answer, Chandler went on, "You have a good relationship with Luther, and he is
quite powerful. I think you will be safer if he goes there with you. What do you think?"
Darren thought for a while. Luther did possess formidable strength. He was among the strongest senior
holy warriors, but he was still no match for a four-tribulation junior holy warrior.
Darren thought that it was best to let Chaz accompany him. Chaz was strong enough.
"I'd better invite Chaz to go with me," Darren answered.
Chaz had been miserable in his previous life. He was killed by his wife and her lover. He had found out
that they now resided in the eighteen cities. Darren knew that Chaz wanted to seek them out for his
revenge.
Darren also felt angry about what happened to Chaz, so he wanted to do him a favor.
"Well..."
Chandler hesitated. Worry clouded his face. Chaz had once been controlled by the Space-time Palace
and had just become Darren's friend. He doubted just how trustworthy Chaz really was.
Seeing his worried look, Darren patted Chandler's shoulder. "Don't worry, sir. I'm a good judge of
character. Chaz was forced to do what he didn't want to do because he was under the influence of the
Space-time Palace. But now he has got rid of their control. He is my best friend. I believe he won't do
anything to hurt us. I swear it on my life."
Darren was serious. The expression on Chandler's face changed a little. "Alright. Since it is you who is
telling me this, I guess I have no choice but to agree."
He patted Darren's shoulder and said, "Work hard. You can become a holy emperor."
Chandler walked away.
Darren went back to the yard. He gave himself three days to prepare. Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
"How are the Water Kylin and Finley?"
It had been a couple of days since he left the Raksa Sea, but Finley hadn't returned yet. This meant
that the dispute between the Water Kylin Clan and the Fire Kylin Clan may not yet be over.
With the help of the light red liquid, Darren would have easily been able to take on the Fire Kylin.
However, he had no time to go over to the Raksa Sea. If he didn't leave now, he would never make it to
the eighteen cities.
"Well, I should have asked Chandler to postpone the trip to the eighteen cities. Everything is ready
now. It cannot be postponed," Darren murmured.
"Darren, you look worried." Chaz and Luther both walked over to him.
"You two seem cozy."
"Ha! I've been sparring with Luther. He's very skilled with his sword. We're friends now," Chaz
chuckled.
"I'm really impressed by your skills. You are stronger than me," Luther said sincerely.
Darren smiled at the two's friendly camaraderie. "Chaz, I'm going to go to the eighteen cities in a
couple of days."
Hearing this, Chaz was stunned. His armor shook.
After a while, he let out a deep sigh. "I was controlled by the Space-time Palace before, so Chandler
definitely won't allow me to go there. What a pity."
Chaz felt dejected. He had long wished to go to the eighteen cities and see the look on his wife's and
her lover's faces when they saw him again.
"Ha, don't worry. Chandler is a kind person. I've persuaded him to let you go with me," Darren said with
a smile.
"Really? I can go with you?" Chaz was giddy with excitement.
He rushed over and gave Darren a bear hug, almost crushing Darren in his embrace.
"Thank you so much, Darren!" Chaz's eyes glistened with tears.
"Ahem... You don't have to do this." Darren gently pushed Chaz away and smiled.
"I have to. I'm so lucky I got to meet you in this life," Chaz said.
Darren did not say anything, but looked at Luther.
"Luther, may I ask you a favor?" Darren said.
"Sure," Luther replied.
"I want you to go to the Raksa Sea to help Finley and the Water Kylin."
Darren briefly explained to him what had happened. When Darren finished, Luther nodded.
"Be careful, okay? I'll take care of your buddies." With that, Luther transported himself to the Raksa
Sea.
With Luther's help, Darren had no worries anymore. He would go to the eighteen cities in three days.
