CHAPTER 876 TORTURE (PART ONE)

Darren frowned in mock exasperation. "What are you smirking about?" he asked.

"I don't want to waste my time talking to an idiot," the black-armored man replied.

He lifted his weapon and sprang at Darren. He challenged him for another round of combat. The black-

armored man thought that even if he could not kill Darren, he certainly wanted to give him a good

lesson.

Darren attempted to take a hasty retreat before he realized that a giant halberd had already appeared

behind him.

Using his sword, Darren utilized his special skills to fend off the attack of the halberd. As he did so, a

tremendous force that radiated from the halberd instantly drilled into his internal organs.

It was not long before hundreds of halberds of the same kind unexpectedly emerged and charged

towards him from different directions.

Darren's body turned crimson red again, while his Shura Force surged all over the place.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The battle was so violent that it shook the entire cave.

Under the continuous attack of the halberd, Darren's power began to gradually plummet down.

"That is enough!" Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.

Suddenly, almost at the same moment when the voice resounded, a handsome figure came into light

and landed between the black-armored man and Darren. With his fair-skinned palm, he launched a

powerful torrent-like assault that pushed the black-armored man over a hundred feet away.

Thud! The black-armored man bounced off the wall of the cave, causing a crack akin to a spider's web.

Then, he fell face down on the ground heavily. Darren was shocked; it seemed to him that the man had

only given out a small assault. He did not expect that the blow would bring such a deadly impact to his

opponent.

With a fiery cry, the black-armored man got back on his feet. His eyes kindled with anger and fury. As

soon as he rose, he lifted his halberd once again and got ready to spring at the newcomer.

The fair young man gave him a cold look and said nothing. Subsequently, the black-armored man

suddenly became aware of who the striking man was. Without hesitation, he put down his halberd and

saluted the man. His face twisted as he struggled to restrain his anger. "Master," he said in a low and

grunting voice.

"Why do I have the feeling that you wanted to kill me a few seconds ago?"

the Misty Emperor asked provokingly. He advanced towards the black-armored man gradually, and

every step he took forward brought more and more terror to the heart of the black-armored man.

"I-I would never dare to do so, Master," stammered the black-armored man as he trembled with fear.

He reproached himself deeply. He knew that the killing intent that he had reluctantly revealed would

had easily ended his second life, which he had earned at a great cost.

The Misty Emperor walked up to him at length and patted his helmet. "If I ever sense that feeling again,

I will smash you into pieces. Got it?"

The black-armored man immediately knelt down. As he did so, a rush of blood trickled from beneath

the cracks of his helmet. However light and soft the touch looked, the blow of that gentle tap had

brought grave damage to his helmet and as well as to his head.

"Humph!" The Misty Emperor snorted to the black-armored man. Then, he turned his gaze towards

Darren and slowly came to him. "Young man, you've been here for more than a month. It seems that

your so-called elders are not willing to exchange the crystals for you or any of your companions. My

heart tells me that they have given up on you," he said.

Darren glanced at him coldly and replied, "I have told you that they will not trade the crystals for me."

"You are right. I believe you now. But you do know that it means you have lost your value here, don't

you? It is certainly a waste of time and energy to keep a worthless thing up and about. Don't you think

so?"

While he spoke, he held his hand and a golden rune appeared at the center of his palm. It seemed as

though he would strike Darren at any time.

"Ha-ha." Darren burst out laughing. "Who told you that I was worthless? Do you really think that I

simply handed over all of those precious crystals to my elders?"

"What?" the Misty Emperor exclaimed.

The dismayed look on his face instantly turned into surprise. Resolutely, he drew back the rune from

his hand. He was glad that his intimidation brought such good tidings, since little did he expect Darren

to take the bait of his threat!

"But I only managed to keep a few with me for observation. If you let me go, I'll give all of the dark-spirit

crystals to you," Darren bargained. He looked at the Misty Emperor sternly.

"Ha-ha."

The Misty Emperor cackled, "You are so naive. You have just revealed to me that you have crystals

with you. Give me a reason not to kill you after I snatch them from you, because I cannot think of one!"

Darren did not heed the Misty Emperor's arrogant remarks. "You mean to tell me that you don't want to

get all of the crystals, is that correct?" Darren asked with a quizzical look on his face. "To tell you the

truth, you'll only obtain two-thirds of my crystals if you kill me. I hid the rest in ten different places. Also,

if I am not mistaken, even if our elders did swap their crystals for me, they will still be insufficient for you

to proceed with your plan."

The Misty Emperor's face turned grim.

"What a cunning boy you are! Now, tell me! Where are these crystals hidden?" he roared.

"Tell you? Are you kidding me? I won't give them away now that they are my only hope of getting out of

here alive," Darren said as he stared firmly into the Misty Emperor's eyes.

"Tell me or I will end you right now!" The Misty Emperor let out a thunder-like howl while his eyes

blazed with fury.
