Chapter 1463 Conferring The Title

CHAPTER 1463 CONFERRING THE TITLE

In his early years in the Chaotic Region, Juan had been a ruthless man, killing whoever crossed his

path.

However, once he acquired an important status, he became a completely different person. Now, he

grew flowers and watered trees every day.

Among the Five Kings, the other four often launched wars, but Juan chose not to participate in any of

them. If someone declared war against him, he would usually send over some people to defend. After

defeating the offenders, he would send people to negotiate.

In other words, he had grown to become an agreeable man.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have given Darren a chance to negotiate and probably would've killed him right

then and there.

Yet now, Darren had refused his simple request to become a justifiable king. Juan was left with no

other choice!

Therefore, even this new and improved Juan boiled with killing intent.

"Patriarch Darren, with your current strength and background, it won't be possible for you to face any of

the powerful forces. If you had agreed to appoint me as king, I would've let you live. But since you don't

appreciate my offer, you leave me no choice." Juan's expression grew grave as he spoke.

"Juan, don't be angry," Todd suddenly cut in, standing up to rush to Juan's side. "Darren is from my

hometown," he continued. "He is like a family in this Primitive Wilderness. No matter what the result of

the negotiation is today, you are not allowed to hurt him, or you would be making it difficult for me."

Then he turned to Darren. "I know you may be angry with me, but this is the reality of the situation. You

are the patriarch of the Chu Clan and the Territory Enfeoffing Emperor, but face it: you don't have the

corresponding force to seize the old land of the Chu Clan. Why don't we both make a concession?

Trust me, I know Juan. He controls a territory, and the people in the region live and work peacefully.

That means he can be a good ruler.

So I advise you to agree to his request. At least, you will have one less powerful opponent."

Hearing this, Darren lapsed into silence for a while.

Turning to his companion, he asked, "Roland, what do you think?"

Darren couldn't deny anything Todd said. It was stupid to forcefully protect something when his strength

was not strong enough.

Perhaps making a compromise was the wisest way to go, after all.

"You are the patriarch. It's up to you," Roland said dismissively. Roland actually had an opinion of his

own, but he knew he couldn't meddle in Darren's affairs. He had no choice but to support whatever

Darren decided to do.

"Okay." Darren took a deep breath. "Juan, I agree to grant you king, but I must be honest with you. I

don't know how to do it."

"Ha ha, wise decision! Thank you, Patriarch Darren. Todd and I are like brothers. If he considers you a

friend, then so must I. What we must do is work together to maintain the order of the Chaotic Region.

I'll explain the process of the conferment to you.

But there is something I have to say first." Juan's expression grew serious. "Although I will be a king

beneath you from now on, if you come into conflict with any of the other four kings, I can't step in to

help you, as this might cause a war. I hope you understand."

Obviously, what Juan meant was that, if the other four kings wanted to kill Darren, he wouldn't interfere

even if they attacked Darren right in front of him. That would be Darren's own business.

"I understand," Darren replied calmly. He had never thought of letting Juan be his backer. After all, they

were not friends.

"Well, thank you, then." Juan smiled slightly. Then, he imparted the method of granting a king into

Darren's mind.

Darren quietly read the information. To his surprise, the process was very simple. He only needed to

use the clan divine weapon to worship the heaven. Then, coupled with his soul power, he would need

to activate the unique identity law of the Territory Enfeoffing Emperor while chanting the words of the

granting ceremony.

Now that they had come to terms, Darren didn't hesitate to apply his new knowledge.

He immediately began the process of appointing Juan as king, making the clan divine weapon floating

in front of him and infusing his soul power into it.

From outside the house, thunder and lightning flashed all of a sudden. The aura of the Territory

Enfeoffing Emperor shrouded the whole place.

"I, Darren Chu, now issue an imperial edict. Today, I formally give Juan Qi, the title North King. He will

be responsible for guarding the north land and protecting the safety of the people..."

After Darren finished reciting the words from memory, the sky grew dark as storm clouds crowded

together. Streaks of lightning flashed in the sky, breaking the Punishment Law that connected to Juan.

And with that, Juan's inauguration as king was done.

Juan beamed. It was obvious he was in high spirits, as though his cultivation had been improved by

one level.

"Come on, Emperor Darren. Let me propose a toast to you!"

With a big smile on his face, Juan raised his glass grandly, clinked it with Darren's and drank it up.

After eating and drinking merrily, the banquet ended two hours later. Then, Juan left.

"Alas..."

Once his old friend had left, Todd sighed.

"Why do you sigh, sir?" Darren asked, curiosity piqued.

"You indeed have gone through a lot," Todd answered with sad eyes. "What a bumpy life! Among us

warriors from the Lothlann Continent, only Finley had a smooth path."

"Sir, did you ever meet Lord Feng?" Darren asked.

"I did, several times in fact. At that time, he was not very strong and had just stepped into the Superior

God Realm. Later, I entered the Chaotic Region. Since I couldn't leave and he in turn could never come

in, I haven't seen him since," Todd said wistfully.

"Oh? Why can't you leave the Chaotic Region, sir?"

Darren's eyebrows shot up in confusion. What was wrong with the Chaotic Region? Almost all the

powerful warriors outside could not set foot on this land. The powerful masters inside couldn't get out

either. How strange!

"It's a bit hard to explain. Simply put, there is a law left behind by Supreme God Alfredo in the Chaotic Belonging to .

Region, which makes it difficult to get in and out. But it's not that big a deal for us. In fact, it's quite

helpful. This law is mainly used to prevent the chief gods from breaking in!"

Darren's jaw fell open in shock.

He never expected his uncle, Alfredo, was that powerful.

Why, the law he left behind was strong enough to block even the chief gods! And there was one more

thing that Darren didn't understand. What was his uncle guarding here, that he had to set up a law to

block the chief gods? Was there something hidden in the Chaotic Region that even the chief gods

coveted?

Although Darren was tempted to ask, he didn't. He knew it'd be futile; it was impossible for Todd to

know the real reason.

"Sir, how is your cultivation base now?" Darren asked in a casual tone, changing the subject.

"Not so bad," Todd answered with a smile. "My cultivation base is slightly higher than that of Finley, but

I don't think I can defeat him in terms of strength."

It suddenly clicked. That was when Darren realized that Todd had become as strong as a deputy god.

Lord Feng was at the top level of the Superior God Realm. Since Todd said that his cultivation base

was higher than his, that must've meant he was at the Deputy God Realm!

But he also said that his strength might not be comparable to that of Finley. He probably knew a thing

or two about Lord Feng's incredible fighting power. Otherwise, as a Deputy God Realm warrior, he

wouldn't have said such a thing.

"I'm so envious of you, sir," Darren exclaimed excitedly. "You're so powerful!"

Darren still had a long way to go to reach the Deputy God Realm. In fact, he wasn't so sure he'd live to

become a deputy god.

"It's just that I have practiced for a longer time than you have. Don't worry. You are much more talented

than me. By the way, Darren, you are also a swordsman. Why don't we try sparring? That way, I could

see if there's any flaws in your technique!" Todd said with a mischievous smile.

Darren understood what he meant: Todd wanted to teach him. By asking him to spar, he was only

being polite.
