CHAPTER 920 THE DRAGON ANCESTOR'S HELP
Suffering the tremendous impact, Darren felt great pain all over his body. His dragon scales started to
fall off.
The sound wave attack was so powerful that Darren couldn't resist it even after transforming into a
dragon.
"Grargh!"
However, Darren did not retreat. His body glowed with blood-red light and he rushed forward with more
ferocity.
When Darren got close, he saw Laura's pale face contorted with pain as she tried to fend off the sound
wave attack.
"Darren, don't come any closer! You'll die!" Seeing Darren transform, Laura knew that Darren would
burst under the attack of sound waves. She didn't want to get him involved.
But Darren turned a deaf ear to what Laura said.
The closer he got to Laura, the more pressure he could feel. He felt his body breaking slowly, piece by
piece.
"Get out of here, Darren! I'm going to die. Why are you here? Get back!" Laura shouted, her voice full
of pain.
Boom!
Darren could no longer move forward. He used all his might to direct his Shura Force into the pink
vortex. If Gregory died, the sound wave attack would disappear.
Seeing the violent blood-red light rushing towards him, Gregory turned pale. He didn't expect that kind
of power to come from that ordinary boy.
Bang!
The Shura Force crashed into Gregory and shattered his body into pieces. He let out a wail and
collapsed into a pile of dust.
However, even though Gregory was gone, the sound wave attack did not dissipate at all! With his last
cry, Gregory had even added to the power of the sound waves.
His sound was so fierce that it tore into the atmosphere and washed over Darren.
Darren was so close to death.
"Idiot, how can a weak dragon like you withstand such a powerful attack? How can you be so stupid?"
Darren felt his heart tug and heard a voice cry out to him.
He was losing consciousness quickly and could feel himself bursting. He did not want his last memory
to be of the dragon ancestor scolding him.
Laura was moved to tears at the sight of Darren's suffering. He did all that he could to fight on and help
her, even when the rest of their companions had retreated into safety.
"Darren..." Laura murmured, hot tears rolling down her face.
"What are you waiting for? Relax your spiritual sense and allow me to host your body!" the voice urged.
Darren was about to lose consciousness completely. Hearing this, he let go and did what the voice told
him to do.
"Roar! Roar! Roar!"
Darren felt dragon blood aura course through his veins and grant him new strength.
His roars had made the sound wave attack dissipate!
"What?!"
From a distance, the Holy City disciples sensed the powerful roar. They were surprised and pleased to
hear it.
Chaz, who had been waiting anxiously, lifted his head. His heart filled with hope. When he saw Darren
rush over, he became very worried. He couldn't follow him because of his injuries, so he had no choice
but to stay behind.
Darren stood up tall, his dragon body towering over the earth. He gave off a cold, formidable aura that
struck fear into the hearts of those who could sense it.
Not only the people around him were shocked, but other strong masters from other cities much farther
away sensed the horrible aura.
Hundreds of spiritual senses rushed towards them. They were all shocked when they realized that the
power was coming from a dragon.
"Heavens! There is a powerful genuine dragon in the Thundering Beast Land!"
"It's unbelievable! That dragon is so strong! How terrible the Thundering Beast Land is!"
Many were in awe of Darren's great power.
The unusual phenomenon also attracted the attention of other powerful beasts in the beast land.
The beasts feared for their lives as they sensed the power and scampered away to hide.
When the ancient golden roc sensed the powerful dragon's aura, it was almost frightened to death. It
knew that the dragon would hunt it down and kill it once and for all.
However, Darren's aura slowly dissolved into nothingness.
After a while, nobody could sense it anymore.
Darren's body slowly fell to the ground. Not far away, Laura panted for breath. Her hair was disheveled
and her eyes had lost their twinkle. She was alive, but she was very weak. ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
The crowd flew towards where Darren was at once. Laura fought through her pain to reach him.
"Darren, are you all right?"
"Darren, talk to us!"
The crowd surrounded Darren.
"Get out of the way!" Laura shouted. She pushed everyone aside and went straight to Darren.
Darren shifted back into his human form. He slowly opened his eyes and blinked a few times. His vision
was hazy and his head throbbed.
It took him a while to remember what just happened.
"It's a good thing I'm still alive," Darren murmured.
"Ha! Great! That's great!" Arvin and the others were relieved.
"Darren, you scared me," Chaz said, patting Darren on the shoulder.
"Laura, what about you? Are you okay?" Darren asked.
Laura breathed out a sigh of relief. "I almost died. I owe you my life!"
"Darren, if it were not for you, she would have been dead. You're actually a dragon! You deserve to be
called the best talent in the eighteen cities."
"I agree with you. I bet that even our Governor would tremble with fear if he witnessed what you just
did!"
The crowd was amazed at Darren's show of power. Never had they encountered such great power
before, and they felt incredibly lucky to have seen it just now.
"You are flattering me," Darren chuckled, shaking his head.
"Darren, we truly admire you. That was one of the greatest things we have ever seen," Arvin said.
"It wasn't me. I had help from someone very special. Without him, both Laura and I would be dead by
now."
"What? Is it really true?" Everyone looked at Darren in confusion.
"Yes. It is." Darren tried to get up but winced at the effort.
"Darren, you risked your life to save mine. I am extremely grateful. How can I ever repay you?"
Without anyone noticing, Laura had already fixed herself up. She was wearing a beautiful, pink dress
and her long, black hair flowed in soft curls. Color had returned to her cheeks and she walked with the
grace and poise of a queen.
She was even more charming than she was when they first met.
"You don't have to repay me. It was the right thing to do." Darren smiled.
"Don't tell me you're in love with me. That's why you saved me, didn't you?" Laura laughed musically.
"Of course... not. I swear that I overestimated my own strength. If I had known that I would have been
in that much danger, I would have run away," Darren joked.
"You!" Laura stomped her feet, irritated.
