CHAPTER 694 PALACE ESCAPE
At the moment, Darren felt vibrant.
He seemed to be surrounded by countless mirrors which reflected many colors and light. The entire
space was extremely bright.
'What is this place?'
he thought to himself. Darren wondered how he got there in the first place.
He paced around and discovered that the space was actually very small.
'Wait a minute! This is... '
Darren touched the surface of the wall and he felt something unusual.
'An ancient spiritual crystal!'
He discovered that the space was full of ancient spiritual crystals.
'Huh. What happened?' Darren thought. 'Does it mean that I've surpassed the ninth level of the Heaven
Degree?'
After Dexter died, he instinctively assimilated his martial arts talent, and then he became like this.
'Finley told me that spiritual energy can be absorbed from a space different from this world as soon as
a person reaches the Genuine Domain Degree talent. I must have broken through to the Genuine
Domain Degree. That's how I ended up here, surrounded by ancient spiritual crystals.'
Darren felt exhilarated after figuring out everything.
The ancient spiritual crystal was a much better catalyst for Darren's powers than any other common
spiritual energy.
Darren plucked out a spiritual crystal the size of his fingertip and tried to absorb it. A burst of spiritual
energy spread throughout his body and he felt that it was more powerful than the spiritual energy This material belongs to .
contained in the purple leaves.
'I should assimilate them.'
Overwhelmed with joy, Darren engulfed the spiritual energy in a crazy attempt. There was a sign that
he would step into the seven-star Grand Realm very soon.
The next moment, however, he felt dizzy and disappeared from the space.
"Congratulations, Darren. You have finally reached the Genuine Domain Degree talent. Now, you are
as talented as me. It's so great."
As soon as he woke up, Finley approached him with a smile on his face.
"Both of you have the talents of the Genuine Domain Degree? Amazing!"
The short old man beside them was shocked.
Having the Genuine Domain Degree talent implied that the person had the potential of becoming a holy
emperor.
"Sir, what is the talent of the Genuine Domain Degree?" Hobson was confused.
The old man went on to explain the Genuine Domain Degree talent to him. When Hobson heard the
explanation, he was stunned.
"What! Even beyond the ninth level of the Heaven Degree?" Hobson was dumbfounded and didn't
know what to say. He was only at the fourth level of the Heaven Degree. No wonder Darren was so
powerful at such a young age.
Darren smiled gingerly and said, "Let's go. It's dangerous here."
They left and returned to the central stone chamber. They continued to watch the battle between the
phantasm and the mysterious old man from the scenes presented on the mirror wall.
"What? I'm confused, sir. You are not the one in charge now. How did we get here?" Hobson was
bewildered.
"Dexter died and I'm still in this palace, so I have naturally returned to the identity of a lord."
"All right." Hobson nodded his head.
"Wow, it's so powerful."
Finley jumped up at the sight of the phantasm in the mirror piercing its opponent with a spear.
"That's the emperor's soul shadow left behind by the first owner of the Mythological Palace. Although
it's not as strong as the real holy emperor, it is more powerful than a senior holy warrior," the old man
explained.
"But why is he attacking at random?" Finley asked, confused.
All three were speechless. Even Finley couldn't perceive the existence of the mysterious old man. He
was really formidable.
After watching for a while, the mysterious old man showed up again. He was disheveled and looked
agitated after being harassed for so long.
The old man swatted at the phantasm with his hands, as if he were swatting at a mosquito.
Heaven and earth quaked with his attacks, and the phantasm cracked open with a starry light and
exploded like a nebula.
Countless rule threads and terrifying runes scattered in the air.
"What? It was smashed with just one blow?
That old man is so terrifying!"
The world finally calmed down. The mysterious old man opened his mouth, as if he had made a
mistake, and ran away with his head in between his arms. He got out of that space immediately.
The fight ended. Outside the building, everything lay in ruins.
Even the Mythological Palace had cracks and holes around its structure.
"Get out of here, Darren. The Mythological Palace will automatically repair itself soon."
The runty old man flew into the black hall with Darren and others, looking up at the holes.
"That's great. Without the accident, we wouldn't have been able to walk out of here," said Hobson
happily.
"Take care, sir. We are leaving now." Darren didn't want to miss this opportunity.
"Hurry up before it gets too late," the runty old man urged.
Darren and the others nodded and flew towards the hole in the sky.
When they were close to the outside world, they saw layers of terrifying runes gathering together and
gradually condensing into the phantasm.
"Hurry up! If the phantom comes back to life, we can't leave."
They flew faster towards their exit.
Boom!
A big hand came over to them like a darkened sky.
"Oh, no. The phantom has spotted us."
"Humph! Let me take care of it!"
Finley's white robe fluttered as he dashed towards the big hand.
The space he went through was completely torn and condensed into a terrifying weapon. He swept the
black chain out and tried to aim it towards the big hand.
When the runty old man on the ground saw this, he was shocked.
The phantom was recovering. His swat was enough to kill Darren and the others, so he worked hard to
dodge it.
The huge palm fell down. Finley was at the front of the defense lines, working to hit the hand's weak
points.
However, the power was too immense for him and he began to cough out blood.
"Shit! If it recovers completely, I would be reduced to ashes." He became a little nervous, too.
"Hurry up. Once you get out, it will not chase you anymore," The old man shouted from behind.
As long as they didn't do anything to harm the Mythological Palace, the phantom of the first lord's soul
would not care about anyone in the outside world, including those escaped the palace.
The body of the phantom began to condense and grew stronger and stronger.
In a flash, Darren transformed himself into a dragon. With his tail, he picked Hobson up and flew
toward the crack in the sky.
Darren and Hobson barely zipped through the palm as it covered the crack but they were able to make
it outside.
Outside the Mythological Palace
A desert spread out before them with magma bursting out of its crevices, setting the scene aflame.
Thick smoke billowed about, making it hard to see anything.
"Where is Finley?" Hobson gasped and looked below him.
The bronze palace lay beneath him, the phantom's hand firmly covering the cracks so that no other
could escape.
"Oh my God! He sacrificed himself and now he's trapped in there!
Should we go to save him?" Hobson asked.
"That's impossible. Now that the phantom has recovered, we will get blasted into pieces when we
enter. Don't forget that without the old man's help, we can't come back to life again if we die." Darren
frowned. He was also worried about Finley, but there was nothing he could do.
Inside the bronze palace, a figure in white was disheveled. He tried to break through the palm, but
failed. A few moments later, the Mythological Palace was fully restored.
When Finley tried to rush over again, black lightning struck him and cut him into pieces.
