CHAPTER 681 PLAN FOR REVENGE
The old man could effortlessly stay alive while fighting all four of them, not even getting a scratch, Belongs © to .
however he could also not kill any of them. It would be an indecisive battle; no side would win over the
other. He was not seeing any end to it, as he had no attacking power himself, so he had to ask Darren
for help.
Darren's strength wasn't strong enough. He didn't stand a chance against the holy warriors, and he
knew better than to grace the front line of a war that he had no way of conquering.
But fortunately, the old man had mastered the Life True Rule and Space True Rule. He could use them
to heal Darren's body and help him avoid the attacks respectively. Once Darren was able to improve
his cultivation base again, he would have a chance to kill the four holy warriors.
Bang!
Suddenly, a domineering spear shadow was shot toward Darren; the sharp screeching sound racing
past his ears like knives being grated against steel.
"What?" Darren exclaimed, taken aback. He immediately shot a dark gold internal force toward the
spear.
When the two collided, Darren's own dark gold internal force was blown away, as Darren's mind had
been when he realized what this meant.
The person who controlled the spear must be very powerful.
But Darren wasn't one to give up. He gave a loud roar, and when he was about to transform into a
dragon, he saw a handsome figure standing before him with a smile.
"Ha-ha, Sir and Darren. You didn't expect me to be here, did you?"
The man grinned as he walked toward Darren and the old man. It was Hobson.
He was shrouded by the overbearing Fringe Holy Will, and he exuded a completely different aura. He
was not the same person he once was. The change was evident; really hard to miss especially at that
level.
"How did you comprehend such a powerful Fringe Holy Will?" Darren asked, surprised. Hobson's
current strength was no weaker than that of Harrison and the other sect leaders before they reached
the Holy Realm.
It also meant that Hobson managed to comprehend at least ninety percent of the Fringe Holy Will.
"It is all because of Sir and Orval," Hobson replied happily, the smile still dancing lightly on his lips.
Then he told them the reason behind it all.
The scroll the old man gave him was actually a spear skill that was passed down by a senior holy
warrior, which contained his dominating spear intent.
Of course, that didn't mean it was all smooth sailing from the get go. It was impossible for him to
improve so fast by only obtaining such a piece of spear skill and spear intent.
His growth should be attributed to Orval. When Hobson left the stone hall, he was worried about finding
a good place to practice, and at that time, he met Orval who took him to a very mysterious place. That
place was a space and time vortex where time was accelerated for a thousand times, yet the outside
world remained virtually unaffected.
That was why he could master the profound Fringe Holy Will in a short time.
"Where is Orval? He helps me a lot. Now I'm not afraid of those bastards anymore," Hobson declared,
his chest jutting out proudly.
Darren gave Hobson a sign to stop. He continued talking to Hobson using his spiritual sense. "Jordan
and others have all reached the Holy Realm. They have killed Orval. If you really want to thank the lord
of the bronze palace and Orval, you'd better come with me to avenge Orval's death."
"What?! Orval is... dead?" The smile on Hobson's face fell off and his killing intent bubbled to the
surface. Darren could see the internal conflict; the struggle as he tried to keep all the hatred inside him.
And yet, despite all the rage he was feeling, Hobson was disheartened by the fact that Jordan and
others had already become holy warriors.
"What's wrong? Are you afraid?" Darren asked through spiritual sense.
"What are you talking about, Darren? Because of the leader of the bronze palace and Orval, I am able
to improve my cultivation base. What's more, as long as it's your order, I will definitely follow it," Hobson
said seriously, communicating with Darren through the same means.
Upon hearing this, Darren felt something warm spreading in his chest. He didn't expect to hear that
from Hobson, and quite straightforward at that.
Hobson was totally different from the people outside. It could be said that he was stronger than Darren
now, but his attitude had not changed at all. He was still the same humble man, albeit a little more
proud than he used to be, but still not arrogant at all. Darren thought befriending him was totally worth
it, even though it all happened only by chance.
"Hobson, we are friends. Let's do our best to avenge Orval's death," Darren said as he stared at
Hobson firmly.
"Sure. Without you, I would have died many times. Even if I were to die this time in our quest for
vengeance, I would not retreat nor regret my choice." Hobson's expression showed he meant every
word he said. Gone were the relaxing days. They were heading into a more serious battle, and it could
be his last.
Darren nodded and said nothing more, understanding his friend's heart more than anybody else.
"Sir, what I need to do now is to go to the space and time vortex Hobson was talking about. This way, I
would be able to increase my strength in as very little time as possible. I need to surpass my current
self." Darren possessed purple leaves that contained endless spiritual energy. As long as he had
enough time, he would definitely improve his strength.
"I'll send you there," the old man said, nodding.
"Well, sir, one more thing. Is there any holy warrior's body in that place full of corpses? If there is, it will
be very helpful to us, and we can find ways to easily kill them off,"
Darren asked as he thought of Finley. If he could obtain a holy body and come out of the Ancient Void
Battlefield, they would definitely be able to kill those bastards.
"No, that place is full of broken bodies. Even if there are still some, we can't find a body in one piece.
We'd have to use other races' parts to reconstruct the body," the old man answered, shaking his head.
"What do you want a holy body for? If you're confident that you can kill those evil people with the help
of a holy body, I can give you mine. I have the Life True Rule. I can survive even in the soul state."
"No, I can't do that. The state of soul and real existence are completely different. I can't sacrifice your
body to fulfill my personal task," Darren opposed. He then told the old man stories about Finley.
After hearing it, the old man was surprised and seemed to have come up with something.
"I will get you a holy body. Just focus on your cultivation," the old man replied resolutely. Shortly after,
he teleported Darren into the space and time vortex.
"Don't be sad, sir. Darren and I will definitely kill those bastards," Hobson said softly, trying to console
the old man.
"I'm so lucky to meet two good young men," he said, smiling slightly as he looked at Hobson. "I'll rely
on you two, then, to avenge Orval. When the time comes, I'll try my best to help you two with my Life
True Rule and Space True Rule. We'll definitely be able to put an end to those evil guys."
"Yes, Darren and I will try our best to give Orval the justice he deserves." After saying that, Hobson
began to practice his spear skill. If his strength were to increase even just a tiny bit, they would be able
to give their enemies hell. After all, they were just four inferior holy warriors.
The old man finally felt comforted and reassured. With a smile, he turned around and walked towards a
door. The surging blood sea was still raging as he opened it.
In the black hall, four people flew around in search of the old man and Darren, trying to check every
nook and cranny to ensure they wouldn't miss anything.
"We have searched the whole palace, but we haven't found them. They must have hidden somewhere
else."
"Right, such a palace is like a small world. There must be other hidden spaces."
"Dwarf, you are a holy rule cultivator which means your perception is better than us. Have a look, will
you? Check for any special space restrictions."
Jordan raised his head and looked at the other three people coldly. "If any of you dare to call me dwarf
again, I will take at least one of you to hell with me."
"Oh yeah, Dwarf? I just called you dwarf. What are you going to do then?" Hearing the exchange of
threats, the leader of the Dragon Chasing Sect, Arlo, balled his hands into fists, ready to fight with his
legendary spear.
"Don't do this, Arlo! At our current state, we can't afford to fight among ourselves. We don't know,
maybe the short old man is hiding somewhere, quietly preparing unimaginable methods to kill us. We
must find and stop him as soon as possible. Otherwise, our lives will be gone before we know it. Keep
in mind that he isn't just any old man; he is the lord of the Mythological Palace and a junior holy warrior.
You'd better keep an eye out and be on your toes, always," Dexter, the leader of the Golden Sacred
Sect, said, trying to reason with Arlo.
The truth in his words couldn't be denied. If the lord of the Mythological Palace were to hide and
concentrate on cultivating the Attack True Rule, the four of them would only be cornered into a dead
end after decades of hard work! It would all go to waste.
"Humph, I won't argue with you for the time being," Arlo relented with a deep frown.
Jordan's face darkened, but he didn't say anything and continued to investigate carefully.
About a day later, Jordan had used up almost all of his Spirit Power. He finally found a very unusual
place on the remote side of the palace.
"There is a very complicated space passage here. They must be hiding inside," Jordan stated,
sounding quite confident with his discovery.
"But how to open it?"
"Very simple. Once I recover my Spirit Power, you three can use all of your power to attack that point.
Then I will use my rule power to destroy the space, rebuilding and merging it. This way, the space
passage will be destroyed," Jordan explained without an ounce of hesitance.
Three days later
The stone palace began to shake violently, and a black vortex appeared on the stone wall, only to
disappear just as quickly, as if something was about to break through the wall.
"Damn it! They are coming!" Hobson's face darkened as he faced the wall, waiting for the attack that
was sure to come.
