Chapter 1005 Hailey's Confession

CHAPTER 1005 HAILEY'S CONFESSION

"Sir, are you sure that he's the Sea Spiritual King?" Darren asked.

"I'm sure he is! I saw him when I first became a holy emperor. It's a good thing he didn't attack me that

time or I would've died for sure."

There was no mistaking that horrible aura; the old man could clearly remember it.

Darren took this as bad news. The person caught in the big wave was Hailey. He had to save her.

Under the huge wave was the powerful Sea Spiritual King. Darren was at a loss as to what to do next.

If he offended the Sea Spiritual King, it would mean big trouble.

"Let me go! You monster!"

Darren and the others flew close enough to hear this angry yelling.

"Hailey! Are you alright?" Darren shouted.

Upon hearing that familiar voice, Hailey suddenly trembled in the huge wave. Tears began to form in

her eyes.

Since Darren left the village that day, he never came back. Hailey scoured the area, trying her best to

look for him, to no avail.

In resignation, she supposed Darren had been killed by Yahya.

She had been plunged into despair after this. The whole world felt dark.

Right in the face of danger, she heard the voice that she'd been longing to hear both day and night.

How could she not be overjoyed?

"Darren! Thank goodness you're alive!"

Hailey's tone quickly turned to caution.

"Darren, you have to get out of here. I'm being held here by a very powerful monster. He's too strong

for you. You have to retreat!"

Darren paid no mind to Hailey's words. He flew straight towards the giant wave.

In a blink of an eye, Darren was standing in front of Hailey. He put his arm around her waist and tried to

pull her out.

The sound of a rush of waves rang through.

Two black tentacles emerged from the depths and latched onto Darren and Hailey.

Darren was unable to use his powers due to some mysterious force of the tentacles.

"This doesn't look so good." Darren's heart sank.

"Darren, what on earth are you doing here? Now we're both trapped," said Hailey sadly.

"How could I just abandon you when I saw you in danger?"

Hailey was dumbstruck by Darren's words. A bittersweet feeling washed over her.

"You still care about me after all, don't you?" She was doing her best to choke back her tears.

After that crazy three days many years ago, she couldn't get rid of the memory. It was etched on her

mind. Every time she'd cultivate alone or feel lonely, his handsome face was always in her mind.

She was longing to see Darren day and night.

Deep down, Hailey knew that Darren held no special feelings for her. The thought alone made her

heart ache.

Now here was Darren, rushing in recklessly to save her life. On the one hand, she feared for his life.

On the other hand, the thought of her and Darren dying together would make her very happy. It was a

strange, complicated mix of emotions.

"Darren!" Hailey turned around and looked right at Darren, her poignant eyes almost shimmering.

"What is it?" Darren looked right back at Hailey. In front of him was a beautiful face with the saddest

smile.

"I'm sorry that you're going to die here. But I'm happy I can at least die with you," said Hailey.

"You're happy to die?" Darren felt disappointed in himself. He was here to save Hailey, and now here

she was accepting death.

"Of course I'm happy. I can't get you out of my head, and I can't stand it when you're not around. Every

day, I prayed I could meet you again.

You know what? I have had countless dreams about you, and each and every one of them is beautiful.

In my dreams, you're very gentle. You hold me in your arms and whisper soothing things to me. I'd

always feel happy in your grasp.

Every time I woke up from these dreams, I'd feel ever so lonely."

Darren's heart wrenched. He wasn't sure if this was guilt.

"Why are you telling me all of this?" Darren smiled bitterly and shook his head.

"If I don't tell you, how would you know that I miss you?

I've hidden these words deep inside my heart for so many years. Today, I'm finally coming clean. I

guess death isn't that bad after all. At least now, I don't have to live with the illusion of you in my head

every day. I can be completely honest with you now."

Hailey smiled with tears falling down her face.

A feeling of sorrow welled up in Darren's heart. He felt guilty looking at the beautiful heartbroken

woman in front of him.

She suffered so much loneliness and pain just because fate handed her the short end of the stick.

Darren could not help but feel pity.

"Darren, if you met me before Elsa, would you have loved me?"

Darren was silent.

"Well, would you?" Hailey pursed her lips, with a sense of expectation in her eyes.

Darren looked at her with a soft expression.

"Hailey, I can't tell you because it never happened."

"Come on, can't you just pretend it did?"

Darren looked away wordlessly.

"Can't you just lie to me? Just say yes, please." She cried so loud her voice cracked. This was the cry

of someone who had never felt so pathetic in her entire life.

Several booms were heard in the space.

Violent runes rushed in one after another. A huge Primitive Fighting Force was at work.

Since Darren entered the wave, his avatar and the old man had been trying to break through, but they

encountered a strong barrier.

Even though they had been attacking with all their might, the barrier was still holding up. In the end, the

Rule Soul Avatar used the soul's power to break through.

Quick gusts of winds passed.

The avatar and the old man simultaneously landed in front of Darren.

"Watch out!" Darren tried to warn them, but he was too late.

Two tentacles suddenly popped out, hovering around the Rule Soul Avatar and the old man.

"What?" The avatar's eyes darkened as he sensed the strength of the tentacle.

Suddenly, his body turned into tens of thousands of sparkles and scattered into the space. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

The old man tried to cut off the tentacle with his long spear. Unfortunately, the tentacle overpowered

him with ease. It caught him and sealed his power as well.

"How could this be?!" The old man began to panic. His Primitive Fighting Force was sealed and he

couldn't activate it no matter how hard he tried to.

"Human, how dare you rob my prey? How bold of you!"

A wild voice bellowed. Darren trembled.

"Sea Spiritual King, why did you bully a weak human girl?" the old man roared.

"Who are you to even speak to me?" the Sea Spiritual King asked scornfully.

"Go to hell!" the Sea Spiritual King roared. Several tentacles then pierced through the old man like

sharp swords.

Blood began to spurt out from the old man's body.

Darren's eyes turned red at this sight, and he felt his killing intent boiling up inside of him. He was

frustrated as he felt too weak for the opponent if he fought on his own.

"Where are you, my avatar? Please help him!" Darren pleaded through his spiritual sense.

With no reply, it was as if the avatar had completely disappeared.

"Avatar? Avatar!"

Darren roared.
