CHAPTER 1414 LEAVING THE RELIC
This was the most humiliating day in Morton's incredibly long life.
He felt much like a disgusting rat that people gagged at and wanted to beat.
"My conscience is clear. I will admit to being wrong since that is what you believe. But mark my words,
one day you will come to understand what I have done is for your own benefit. Goodbye."
All he could do was defend himself and his actions. It was his only way to save face and get out of this
awkward situation he found himself in.
He then took off into the air, ready to leave the Archean relic.
Getting out of the relic was easy for powerful warriors such as him, so long as they didn't fall into the
time and space turbulent flow.
"You think you're going to leave without apologizing? Do you think you'll be let off that easy for bullying
my nephew?" Yolanda growled.
Morton ignored her and flew off without turning back for so much as a glance. Dejected and defeated,
he soared off with great speed.
"Ms. Leng, forget about him. Morton has mastered a method valuable to the human race. If not for that,
he would have been killed a long time ago. We have no choice but to let him live."
"You're right. We have to plan for the future of the human race. Let him stay alive for the time being and
we'll keep a close eye on him. Please, do not let yourself get too worked up,"
advised one of the warriors.
Yolanda calmed herself and removed her cold stare now that Morton had disappeared.
"Well, all right. I suppose I can't defeat that old man with my strength alone."
"I think we're done here, Ms. Leng. We have to get back as soon as possible. Take care, and all the
best to you." All the powerful warriors had been trapped in the relic for quite a long time. They needed
to return as soon as they could to see if anything was wrong so they could deal with it timely.
"Go ahead. Tend to your matters," Yolanda said, nodding in understanding.
"Farewell. If Darren gets himself into any trouble, let me know. I will surely be there to help him as long
as I can."
All the big shots flew out of the relic, all except for Lord Starry Sword and Lord Feng.
Once the powerful warriors had left, Sally, Lindsay, Weber and the others flew over.
"Master, it is so great to finally see you, and even more so that you're still alive and well."
"Master."
When Sally and Beatty laid eyes on Lord Starry Sword, tears welled up in their eyes. They were like
children being reunited with their parents, after being held from them and made to suffer.
"Go back and focus on your cultivation," Lord Starry Sword said indifferently, seemingly paying them no
mind.
"Master, I have been through so many dangerous experiences. Do you not care how I'm doing or how
I'm feeling? Are you not concerned at all? Humph!" Sally asked, complaining like a spoiled little kid.
Lord Starry Sword glanced back at her and responded flatly, still seeming uninterested in her
grumblings. "Both of you, head to the Myriad Swords Cliff to cultivate. And don't waste any time."
"We'll go now." Sally twisted her face in her displeasure while Beatty nodded respectfully.
"Darren, Lindsay, Weber, Finley, we are leaving. I wish I did not have to. I hope we will meet again
sometime in the future." Sally reluctantly said her goodbyes to everyone.
"Go on, and cultivate hard. Don't let Lord Starry Sword down," Darren replied with a courteous nod.
"Lord Starry Sword, will you accept me as your disciple? The first person I respect in my life is the
supreme god, and you are the second. Please, give me a chance," Weber said as he jumped out and
bowed to Lord Starry Sword with a begging grin and a groveling shudder in his words.
Lord Starry Sword did not even bother looking at him.
"Lord Starry Sword, if you do not agree, I will kneel down and never stand up until the day I die," Weber
then added firmly.
"You truly are shameless, aren't you? How dare you still harass those girls and try to force them into
being stuck with you?" Lindsay asked disgustedly, rolling her eyes.
"She's right. How could Lord Starry Sword accept you as a disciple? Even if he were to agree, your
master would probably skin you alive before the day is done," Finley said with a wide smile.
Unexpectedly, Lord Starry Sword actually responded,
"Sure." There was a hint of displeasure in his voice.
"Ah! Really? Thank you, Lord Starry Sword. Thank you so much! I am so lucky. I will cut ties with the
old dog and never take him as my master again!" Weber exclaimed elatedly, gritting his teeth and trying
to hold back his excitement.
He had sent a message to his master when Darren had been threatened by Morton, but his master
took no action. He had then decided to completely abandon his master and find a new one.
Of course, the main reason of his decision was because of Sally...
Weber jumped up in joy, his head held high, looking as though he might have grown a few inches.
"You can be my disciple... in the next life," Lord Starry Sword then continued.
Darren and the others were astounded by these words. They had not expected such words to come out
of Lord Starry Sword's mouth.
"Ha-ha..."
It was outside everything they understood that the cruelly serious Lord Starry Sword possessed this
sort of sense of humor. It was truly unbelievable.
Weber was left stunned for a long while. When he finally came to his senses, Sally and Beatty had
already been teleported away.
"Why am I so unfortunate? Even Lord Starry Sword makes fun of me. Let me die. Please don't stop
me..." Weber said, falling to the ground in despair. No one moved to comfort him.
"Starry Sword, Finley Feng, I have some recordings of my husband's battles when he was alive. You
can watch a couple of them. You may find them helpful."
Yolanda revealed more than ten gray stones from her Space Ring as she spoke. These stones
contained a very strange shadow law which could replay recorded scenes.
Lord Starry Sword and Lord Feng took the stones and used their god's sense to look them over.
Even though they remained calm and composed the entire time, they still wore peculiar expressions on
their faces.
"Thank you, Ms. Leng."
"Thank you."
This time, even Lord Starry Sword expressed his thanks. That in itself no doubt demonstrated just how
precious these battle scenes were.
"Go, study it. I hope you can become the supreme gods."
The two of them nodded slightly and their figures gradually faded out of the relic.
Darren and the others remained a few days longer and were now almost ready to leave.
"Finley, take good care of Primitive Emperor and let him cultivate where the Archean energy is the
densest."
"Don't worry about that. I've already handled it," Finley replied.
Darren had met with the Primitive Emperor before leaving. He had decided to stay since he had finally
made it back to his hometown. It would be good for his recovery and increasing of his strength.
"What about you? You are in charge of the relic but you still only have half of the force of control. You
can't carry the relic with you. What are you going to do? Would you like to stay here and improve your
cultivation, or come with me and take the relic in the future?" asked Darren.
"I've made my mind up to stay. I'll let you in on a secret, Darren. I can transform the Archean godly
energy into the godly energy of the Primitive Wilderness to improve my cultivation level. Why would I Content is © 2024 .
leave? Ha-ha! When I increase my strength a great deal and become powerful enough, I will help you
fight everyone who opposes you. I'm sure by then no one will dare stand against me."
Finley was totally happy and at peace. It was difficult to display the Archean god's power in the
Primitive Wilderness, due to the limitation of space and time. However, he was able to transform it and
improve his cultivation base at a rapid pace. Of course, he had to take advantage of it and stay to
cultivate. If he didn't, he'd just be weighing Darren down, holding him back and getting him into
unnecessary trouble.
"That's good. It makes sense. This is the safest place for you to cultivate after all."
"Finley, I'll stay as well. Now that there are so many great masters backing Darren up, I believe he'll be
safe for a while and probably not die anytime soon. Ha-ha," Lindsay said, deciding to stay too.
In the end, Darren, Weber and Yolanda walked out of the relic together.
