CHAPTER 908 CHANGE OF THE SOUL
In an underground cave
"The bird finally left. We would've been in a lot of trouble if it found us."
Chaz came out of the cave to see what was going on. He saw that the aura of the ancient golden roc
disappeared in the vast expanse.
In the cave, Darren sat in silence. He was focused on immersing himself in refining his newly
assimilated talent.
In his mysterious crystal space, Darren was delighted to see the talent he had assimilated earlier
materialized as drops of liquid. Once he added them all up, he realized it was ten times greater than all
the talent he had assimilated in the past.
After a few days of immersion, he had absorbed the liquid talent by one third. This time, the crystal wall
space was undisturbed—even the cracks in the space had disappeared.
Darren could really feel the difference after taking in all that talent.
His soul seemed to have undergone a great change. He could sense the special forces of heaven and
earth from within his body.
"I wonder if my current level of talent has surpassed that of the Genuine Domain Degree."
After his soul's transformation, he found that his deducing ability had also greatly improved. It could be
comparable to the ability of the Rule Soul Avatar.
Darren tested his newfound abilities by using his sword intent. His speed was tremendously faster, and
just by pushing a little more effort it was as if hundreds of thousands of copies of himself were grasping
the sword intent at once. It was an amazing yet terrifying ability to wield.
In just a few hours, Darren's sword intent had reached record-breaking limits, and it seemed to have
exceeded the extreme level.
"I wonder if this ability changed the size of my sword core like it changed for my sword intent?"
From the start, Darren had been considering the idea of fusing his different sword intents together. The
only obstacle was that his sword core was too small, and could only contain four kinds of sword intents
at a time.
Since his sword intent got an immense upgrade, it was now possible for him to fuse more sword intents
together.
While pondering this, Darren started to check his sword core's status.
"It's the same as before? It didn't grow bigger." The only thing that had changed in his sword core was
the color—a glimmering purple and gold.
"Boy, what are you mumbling about?"
A voice suddenly echoed through. It was the man in Darren's heart.
"Huh? I thought you were dead already! What are you doing here?"
Since his escape that day, Darren had tried to communicate with this voice many times, to no avail.
Darren decided that whatever talked to him that day was probably some kind of ghost or a spirit.
"That's a load of bull. I won't die, not even if you die. I just got into your body, so I need some deep
sleep to adapt to my new surroundings. I didn't die, I just wasn't in the mood for your chitter chatter.
Why did you escape that day, anyway? You let the golden roc survive, and now it's never going to
leave you alone. You are a true idiot."
Darren rolled his eyes at all of these words. He wasn't in the mood to be scolded by a mysterious
voice.
"Who and what the hell are you? Why are you throwing all these harsh and utterly useless insults at
me? I think you're the idiot here. Can't you see I'm much weaker than the last time we spoke?" Darren
said angrily.
"Oh Right! Why are you so weak now?" the man asked in surprise. "It's no wonder you had to escape, I
guess. You're not a real half-step emperor level warrior."
"So you're saying I'm right? That you're actually stupid? Come on, admit it," Darren said with a smile.
"Bah! How dare you tease me? Do you have any idea who I am?"
"Who knows? If I had known from that day that you were nothing but an idiot, I wouldn't have repressed
the dragon blood aura and would have just assimilated you instead," said Darren, bitter contempt in his
tone.
"How dare you! I am the dragon ancestor, and more precisely, your ancestor. If you try to assimilate
me, it'll be treason!"
"Dragon ancestor?"
"Haha, are you scared now?"
"Ok, this is just bullshit. Why would you be afraid of being assimilated by me if you really are a dragon
ancestor?" Darren was doubtful. He expected a dragon ancestor would be too powerful to fear
something like this.
"Well, I have nothing more to explain here. It's up to you to believe me. But I have to tell you, that's
some real talent you've got. You levelled your sword intent all the way up to the Infinite Stage in only a
few hours," said the dragon ancestor, deciding to ignore Darren's rough attitude towards him.
Darren, upon hearing the dragon ancestor's praises, decided to cast aside his doubts on the voice's
identity. With interest he asked, "What is this 'Infinite Stage' you speak of?"
"Humph! What an ignorant young man you are! You don't even know you wield the sword intent of
Infinite Stage? It's no wonder your generation has grown uneducated with these kinds of things.
Insects!"
snorted the dragon ancestor in disdain. He suddenly looked over and noticed Darren's sword core.
"Ah!"
he exclaimed, in complete shock.
"You, you have actually succeeded in making the sword-god core! My God!"
The dragon ancestor roared loudly in Darren's mind, and he was stunned for a bit.
"Whoa! What the hell? What's all the fuss about? What's a sword-god core anyway?" Darren shouted
back.
"Seriously? You don't even know about the sword-god core?"
The hint of contempt returned to the dragon ancestor's tone. His amazement was overpowered by
Darren's sheer ignorance.
"Who would know about bullshit like this? If you want to let me know what it is then just say it already. If
you don't want to tell me, then whatever, I don't like talking to you anyway. On that note, when are you
leaving?" Darren retorted harshly.
"You! Idiot! You want to drive me away?
Do you know how long that little bird had been waiting to gobble me up? Now here I am making the
effort to fly into your heart, and you're not willing to be a good host? The nerve of this boy!" The
mockery in the dragon ancestor's voice was very pronounced.
"Get out of here already! I don't care about you in the slightest. I swear if you don't get out of here I'll
assimilate you with my dragon blood!"
"How dare you!"
Darren's mouth twitched as the pyramid in his elixir field began to rotate. Then the dragon blood aura
rushed into his heart in a frenzy. The dragon blood in his body slowly began to flow in to meet the aura.
Darren used his spiritual sense to control the flow of the dragon blood and the aura. He made it fill his
heart, into where the dragon ancestor was staying.
"No!
Stop this! I'll tear your heart into pieces if you don't cease this!" The dragon ancestor suddenly made a
sharp cry of immense pain.
"Haha!" Darren cackled.
"Let's see who is faster, you or me? Will you tear my heart to pieces or will I assimilate you first?"
As soon as he had done speaking, Darren mobilized all his dragon blood and aura, which kept flooding
into his heart as his heart was going to explode.
"I apologize. Please, stop."
The dragon ancestor had bluffed. He didn't have enough strength to tear Darren's heart apart. It was all
big talk and intimidation.
"Stop! I'm going to melt," cried the dragon ancestor, choking back his tears.
Darren wordlessly infused more and more of the dragon blood aura and dragon blood into his heart.
"Sir, boss, my lord, it's my fault. I'll tell you everything you want to know. Just please spare me!" the
dragon ancestor whimpered and begged.
"Humph! That sounds much better." Darren made a wicked smile of satisfaction and withdrew the
dragon blood aura and dragon blood from his heart.
"Now tell me, what on earth is the sword intent of Infinite Stage and the sword-god core you were going
on about?" Darren asked again.
This time, without any hesitation, the dragon ancestor told him everything he knew.
After listening intently, Darren finally got a good grasp on the idea.
Amongst the flurry of words the dragon ancestor spouted, the most useful information was actually very
simple.
The so-called sword intent of Infinite Stage was another extreme level a martial artist could reach.
Strictly speaking, Darren did not necessarily break any limits. He instead achieved another branch of
extremeness.
Once his sword intent reached the heights of the Infinite Stage, his sword intent's strength would make ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
him one of the most powerful warriors in the world.
As he was, his level was just not high enough yet. He was far from intimidating.
As for the sword-god core, this came as an unexpected surprise.
To Darren's knowledge, the highest level of sword core was the purple sword core. It turned out that
there was a level above purple sword core which was much more amazing.
This higher level was similar to the "Immortal Character" crystal made by a rule cultivator.
This kind of sword core was also called the "Fake God Character." It was the essential foundation for a
swordsman's journey into becoming a god!
