CHAPTER 865 THE EIGHTEEN CITIES (PART TWO)
"Yes, the place has countless talented cultivators of human race. That includes those holy warriors who
have survived the tribulations. All their goal is the same, to become a holy emperor," Chandler
explained.
"But Lord Donald once told me that the eighteen cities are places for breaking through to the Holy
Realm. It is said that if one couldn't achieve the realm, he wouldn't be allowed to leave the place,"
Darren said. He looked puzzled.
"Those are all lies! They spread those lies to the outside world on purpose. After all, the place is so
vital. It could easily attract the attention of evil and unfriendly eyes and not just those who are talented.
Do you understand?" Chandler said in an alarming tone.
"I understand," Darren nodded.
"Have you decided to make a journey for the eighteen cities?" Chandler asked.
"Of course I have. This is a rare chance that I should not throw away," Darren answered, delighted with
getting such a precious opportunity for the betterment of his skills. In addition to learning greater and
better skill of cultivation methods, he could also encounter talented folks that he had never seen or
heard before. Darren's heart was burning hot with thrill with the thought of all the bright possibilities that
lay ahead.
"It is settled then. I'll arrange your trip in a few months," Chandler said, looking very pleased with
Darren's enthusiasm. Once Darren consented, Chandler knew that he had to proceed with the
application process right away. He presumed that the whole preparation would take at least half a year.
He understood that Darren was now in a hurry to rush towards the eighteen cities. So he advised
Darren to stay patient and wait for further notices.
Darren left that special room.
"Darren," Scott called. He had been waiting outside all this time.
"My friend, it's such a rare chance to see each other again. What do you say we spend some time
together? Let's have some drink!" Scott invited. Darren smiled back at Scott.
"Sure, let's have a drink! I bet you brought good wine!"
They flew into the void space and began drinking, talking about their experiences.
"Scott, I think your cultivation base has improved since we parted. Tell me how far it has gotten!"
Darren asked as he relished his drink.
Scott was sitting quietly in the air, his legs floating and his wine in front of him. "My strength is now on
par with the senior holy warrior you have killed earlier," Scott said. He wore a gloomy expression and
looked out into the distance.
"Awesome!" Darren complimented before he could catch the tension of Scott's face. "It seems that you
have been through a lot of adventures. But you don't look very pleased with your achievements. Why?"
They were close friends. Darren wouldn't hesitate to ask questions like those.
"Of course it's because of that dragon corpse," he answered without hesitation.
"Dragon corpse? Do you mean the dragon corpse in the Fire Cave?" Darren asked. He couldn't quite
understand what Scott was trying to tell.
"Yes." Scott took a sip of his wine and sighed. "After I went through the traditional purification process,
the blood concentration of my meridians had already reached its highest state. The guidance said that I
needed to go to the Fire Cave in order to obtain the genuine dragon inheritance. I went there, but
things did not go as I expected. I tried my best, but in the end, I nearly got killed. As a result, I had only
strengthened my body a little. I also obtained a little amount of the genuine dragon blood aura. Such a
pity! I wasn't able to get a hold of the genuine dragon inheritance at all."
"Do you mean that you could have gotten more inheritances if you succeeded?" Darren asked, still
confused.
"That's for sure. If I can get my hands on the genuine inheritance of the cyan dragon from outer space,
I can turn into it and gain the ability to power over anything!"
"I see," Darren uttered. He took a deep breath. When Scott turned into an ordinary dragon that was
thousands of feet long, he had the power of a senior holy warrior. Now Scott was talking about a cyan
dragon from outer space, which was a million kilometers in length. He couldn't imagine how much
strength Scott would have possessed.
"Why? Why didn't you get more inheritance?"
"Bloodline," Scott answered. "The purity of my blood is still low. Otherwise, I would have obtained more
dragon blood aura and that would be enough for me to enter the ranks of the top level senior holy
warriors," Scott said in dismay.
"That is such a pity. Don't give up just yet! I believe there is another way. No one but you can get close
to it," Darren appeased Scott.
"True," Scott muttered as his heart eased a little. Scott proposed a toast to Darren and they emptied
their glasses immediately.
"About your bloodline, Darren. I remember that your blood is pure too. Why don't you give it a shot?"
The thought suddenly occurred to Scott.
"I don't think I can do it. My blood is not as pure as you thought. I was able to turn into a dragon
because I absorbed the bloodline of that flood dragon at first. After that, I was only able to get the
dragon bloodline with your help and the plants in the Fire Cave. After many twists and turns, I think my Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
blood has become impure," Darren said.
"It doesn't matter. If you have time, let's go together and try it out. It won't do you any harm to try," Scott
advised.
"Maybe. Let's talk about it later. I have other pressing things to attend to right now. The nasty folks of
the Space-time Palace have been trying to hunt me down. I need to get rid of them first," Darren said.
He narrowed his eyes and a fierce killing intent shone in both of them.
