Chapter 854 I Will Challenge Him Anyway

CHAPTER 854 I WILL CHALLENGE HIM ANYWAY

The senior holy warriors of the three clans were stunned.

This brat dared to challenge Chilton?

He was only an inferior holy warrior. Even if he had practiced the Blade and Sword Cultivation at the

same time, he was still much weaker than Hanson. How could he possibly go up against a senior holy

warrior?

"You've got yourself a deal!"

Chilton was afraid that Darren might go back on his word. He puffed out his chest.

"This is a fight to the death. I hope you all understand that. This fight is between the two of us only. If

either one of us dies, no one must try to avenge our death. Understood?" Darren sneered.

"Alright!" Chilton became chipper all of a sudden. 'Now I can kill this brat without hesitation, ' he

thought.

"On one condition! Our fight happens after three months," Darren continued.

"What?" Chilton frowned.

Mathew used his spiritual sense to send a message to Darren. "Are you crazy? Even if you take three

more months, defeating him would be impossible!"

"Darren, what tricks do you have up your sleeve this time?" Hanson asked. He was under the

impression that Darren was making excuses for himself.

"No tricks! I just want to be able to kill him fair and square!" Darren replied.

"No way! He has been a senior holy warrior for a long time. Even if my brother or I tried to go up

against him, we wouldn't stand a chance. What makes you think you would?" Hanson shot back.

"It doesn't matter. Once I get to become a full-fledged junior holy warrior, I'll have a chance of defeating

him," Darren said firmly.

Chilton was deep in thought.

"Chilton, give him the three months before you end his life!"

After all, Chilton was a senior holy warrior of the three great clans. If he even refused such a small

request, the humiliation would be too great!

"Humph, what if you run away in the next three months?" Chilton asked Darren.

"Oh, pipe down. Not everyone is like you, you coward!" Darren sneered.

When Chilton felt as if he were in danger, his first instinct was always to hide behind Mathew and

Hanson. However, once he realized he was in the clear, he turned into a pompous creep.

"You!" Chilton's face contorted with anger. "Swear on the name of the Sacred Palace or I'll kill you right

now!"

Darren knew what Chilton was trying to do. If he decided to run away, Chilton and his goons would

have an excuse to storm the Sacred Palace under the guise of looking for Darren.

"Alright, then. I'll ask Lord Donald to write a challenge order and send it to your three clans tomorrow.

After three months, we shall meet again!"

Darren spun around, turning his back to the rest of the senior holy warriors.

The senior holy warrior who stood directly behind Darren tried to grab his shoulder but he was stopped

by another senior holy warrior.

"Let him go. He won't run away. Besides, even if he does, we'll have every right to storm his beloved

Sacred Palace," he said.

"Why, you have such a devious mind!" All of the other men chuckled.

Darren and his companions made their way to the Sacred Palace.

"What's going on, Darren? What have you found in the forbidden area?"

Lord Donald greeted him as he entered.

They immediately relayed to him what had happened.

After a moment of silence, Lord Donald began to speak. "I didn't expect that Barnes the Holy would be

alive. He had to use fiendish power to regain his strength, which is very unusual. We've found

ourselves in a difficult situation. Even with the elders' help, we are still in danger.

However, I'm sure that they will still be able to ensure that the human race stays safe if push comes to

shove. They possess a divine weapon which will help them defend this place."

"What is this divine weapon you speak of?" Darren asked.

"It's a powerful thing. If Barnes the Holy dares to act recklessly, I will have to kill him." Lord Donald did

not tell him what exactly the divine weapon was so Darren assumed that it was a secret.

"Darren, forget about challenging Chilton for now. Just stay here for a few more days. When the elders

come back, we will have no reason to be afraid of the three clans." He had heard about Darren's

challenge towards the senior holy warrior.

"No, Lord Donald. A true warrior never backs down and is not afraid of anything! This time, I brought up

the challenge. I cannot go back on my word. If I run away, I don't deserve to continue my journey as a

warrior," Darren said firmly.

"But... He is a senior holy warrior. He is a senior holy warrior!" Lord Donald was incredulous.

Darren was only an inferior holy warrior now. How could he ever measure up to Chilton's power? He

was courting death.

"That doesn't matter. I have to fight him. Please write a letter for the challenge, Lord Donald. I must

send it to him at once." Darren saluted.

Lord Donald tried his best to dissuade Darren from the challenge, but to no avail. He finally relented

and agreed to write the letter.

"Darren, you are too stubborn. This time, you are going to challenge the three clans in the name of the

Sacred Palace. You must do your best. I will back you up." Lord Donald shook his head and sighed,

knowing there was nothing else he could do but support Darren.

If it were someone else asking, Lord Donald would have declined. The challenge was both a personal

and a political move. The name of the Sacred Palace was at stake.

However, he owed Darren his life. He knew in his heart he could not say no and just hoped for the best

outcome.

After receiving Lord Donald's letter, Chilton was ecstatic. Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.

"Ha! That little brat. He'll be dead soon enough! I will see to it!"

"Careful. Don't get complacent. Do you think killing an inferior holy warrior is something to be proud

of?" the patriarch of the three clans said coldly.

"Ahem." Chilton lowered his head and didn't say anything.

"I was told that Barnes the Holy came back. Is it true?" asked the patriarch.

"It is true, sir. That brat had no need to lie to us. Besides, the strong aura that we were able to sense

from the forbidden area came from none other than Barnes the Holy," a senior holy warrior replied.

"Yes, we all felt his power. He is stronger than all of us combined. My guess is he can even go up

against the Roc Demon Emperor." Yorick had fought in the battle against the Roc Demon Emperor. He

knew what he was talking about.

The patriarch shook his head and narrowed his eyes.

"The legendary Barnes the Holy... How could it be possible for the Roc Demon Emperor to compete

with him? The Roc Demon Emperor called himself a holy emperor, but he was certainly far from being

a holy emperor. Even if he manages to become one, he is still no match for the real Barnes the Holy."

"So it means that the brat was lying?" someone asked.

"No, I don't think so." The patriarch stood up. "Didn't you say that Barnes the Holy had used a fiend to

recover his strength? He should have been suppressed."

"Yes, indeed!"

"Ah. Since he has been suppressed, that means we have a chance!" The patriarch's eyes flashed with

a cold ferocity.

"What do you mean?" The men began to get very excited. Their eyes widened and their pulses began

to race.

The patriarch looked on at the crowd and made a slicing motion with his hand across his neck.

"Ah!"

The crowd buzzed with lively chatter.

"Sir, are you going to kill Barnes the Holy?" one of the men asked.

The patriarch leaned back into his chair wordlessly. He scanned the crowd for a few seconds, gazing

upon the faces of his men. Then, he nodded.
