CHAPTER 931 ENTER THE HOLY EMPEROR'S TOMB
"Are you all right?" Hailey asked indifferently. However, the concern in her eyes was rather evident.
"I'm fine. Thanks." Darren nodded calmly. In truth, he actually felt a bit embarrassed.
A lump came into Hailey's throat. "Where is Elsa?" she asked after a moment of silence. "Is she okay?"
Hailey had spent some time with Elsa, but she chose to leave silently when Elsa and Darren had
reconciled.
Hearing Elsa's name, Darren gave a bitter smile.
"No."
"What happened? Did you two get into a fight?" Hailey asked.
"No. It's a long story. We can talk about it later." At the moment, Darren didn't want to say anything
more about the matter.
Hailey felt that Darren didn't want to talk about it, so she had no choice but to drop the topic. She
thought for a while and continued, "Don't you want to know how I gained my strength?" Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
"Well, I already have an idea. You must have had a lot of adventures. Anyway, my friends are still there.
I have to go and find them," Darren said, turning around to leave. "See you later," he added.
There was nothing Hailey could do but stand frozen in place. The way Darren was acting so coldly
towards her made her want to cry.
A gentle gust of wind blew over; she watched as his figure fly away slowly. A part of Hailey wanted to
call out to Darren. 'Stay here for a while longer, ' she thought. But she did not have the courage to say
those words out loud.
"Hailey, are you and Darren...?"
Anthony suddenly appeared behind Hailey.
"What do you want to know?" Hailey said, her lips pressed into a fine line.
"Nothing." Anthony felt that there was something going on between Darren and Hailey, but thought that
it wasn't worth mentioning. "You've exposed your real strength, Hailey," he said, quickly changing the
subject. "I'm afraid you can't partake in the superior talent contest."
"Why not?"
"If you participate, I'm afraid the other cities will send some elders to kill you. The fights between the
eighteen cities have lasted for many years. Once a super genius is born, he or she will be killed in
order not to break the balance. You must be careful in the future."
"Got it," replied Hailey indifferently. Then she turned around and left.
Thirty days passed.
During these thirty days, Darren went to a quiet place to cultivate alone, far away from any
disturbances.
When Darren finished his cultivation, Chaz and the Grand Crow found him and handed over ten golden
crows' fragments to him.
"Wow, you've reaped a lot." Darren took the fragments, beaming with joy.
"Humph! As long as I have strength in me to fight, these bastards will keep dying!" the Grand Crow said
proudly.
"You're really powerful I see... Today is the time to open the holy emperor's tomb. I can't wait to see the
mighty power of the ancient genuine emperor who cultivated conflicting skills," Darren said.
"It might not be a wonderful trip. The holy emperor's tomb is a dangerous place. You're not even a
match for me when I was young! You will be killed there.
But in the holy emperor's tomb, one doesn't rely entirely on his strength. His talent is also very
important. I hope you can gain something good," the Grand Crow said.
Darren's lips curled up into a smile. "No matter how dangerous it is, it's worthy to go in and have a
look!"
Just then, a green light rose into the sky, and the earth began to shake.
Boom!
An overwhelming aura swept over everyone. All the creatures within a million kilometers trembled
under the aura, Darren and the others included.
"Oh my God! The aura is frightening!" Darren exclaimed.
"Ha-ha! Now you know how terrifying it really is. When you enter the holy emperor's tomb, you will see
something really terrifying. There's no time to chitchat about it now. Hurry to the entrance of the holy
emperor's tomb and wait there."
"Okay."
While Darren and Chaz flew there, the Grand Crow hid himself and followed them.
"Hey, old bird, why are you hiding?" Chaz inquired.
"I have enemies all over the world. They would come to fight me. If they see me, they won't think twice
about ending my life," the Grand Crow answered impatiently, and Chaz didn't say anything more.
The holy emperor's tomb covered an area of more than a hundred thousand square kilometers. It was
very high and stood there like a limitless mountain.
A large crack appeared on the eastern mountain wall. Red air rushed to the sky. The terrible aura from
just a while ago had quietly receded.
In front of the holy emperor's tomb, hundreds of people flew in the air. All of them were at least as
powerful as a four-tribulation junior holy warrior.
They seemed to be waiting for something.
"Darren, they are waiting for the black beads. I've given you one so that you don't have to fight for it,"
the Grand Crow whispered.
"Thank you very much," Darren replied with a smile.
"You are so stupid. Go inside first," the Grand Crow urged.
"No hurry. Let's wait and see what will happen," Darren said.
"You're right. It's not good for us to go in first. Besides, I wouldn't mind seeing someone get killed. Ha-
ha!" the Grand Crow said expectantly.
Later, three black beads would fly out from the holy emperor's tomb. In order to get the beads, the
warriors would definitely have to fight each other for it.
One bead could protect ten people into the second door. Having all three would be able to protect a
much larger group.
Fizz! Fizz! Fizz!
Three flashes of black light flew in three different directions.
"The Blood Suppressing Beads are coming out! Grab them!" someone from the crowd shouted. People
started to fight for the beads. Turmoil started in the sky.
Several hundred warriors began to chase after three beads respectively. Anthony from the Holy City
and Hailey were also preparing to vie for them.
Seeing them, Darren quickly flew over.
"You don't have to fight for them. I have one. It's enough for us to get in," he said.
Darren felt Anthony was a good man. He had saved them when they were in danger, so it was alright to
let him enter the tomb with them.
Even though something had happened between Darren and Hailey, Darren had already forgiven her.
Because of this, he thought that it would be fine if he let her come along.
Anthony was surprised to hear what Darren said.
"Darren, how did you get the bead? I saw three flying away just now," asked Anthony in confusion.
"Look," Darren said as he took out a black bead.
Anthony took the bead from Darren, his eyes widening. "It really is a Blood Suppressing Bead. That's
amazing!"
Darren laughed and turned to him. "I got it by accident. It's no big deal."
"It is a big deal. It saves us the trouble of having to fight others for it," Anthony smiled as he gave the
bead back to Darren.
"Darren, I suggest that we don't rush to enter the tomb. Let's wait and see who will get the beads,"
Anthony said.
"I agree with you. After entering the holy emperor's tomb, there will be a fierce battle. We should check
out the strength of those who will enter the tomb."
"Ha-ha, Darren, I'm glad we're both on the same page!"
Then they flew out, releasing their spiritual sense to probe those who were fighting for the beads.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
A trembling sound echoed in the air. Dazzling light rushed to the sky. A fierce, cruel battle had torn the
void apart.
