CHAPTER 510 MORE POWERFUL
"Such a powerful spiritual energy fluctuation."
Darren flew towards the rubble that had once been the pool. The closer he came, the stronger the
spiritual energy grew, until he could feel it all around him, calling to him.
Unlike other spiritual energy, this one was purer. And it smelled of age, of centuries, of the passage of
time and tide, the cycle of many moons.
Following the fluctuation, Darren picked out a bluish glint among the rubble. The energy was thicker
now. Suffocating. Drawn to the glint like a moth to a flame, Darren found a crystal among the rubble at
the bottom of the pool. The crystal looked like blue ice and was as large as the head of a bull.
Darren reached a tentative hand down and picked up the crystal. Its power suffused him. Holding the
crystal up, Darren tried to absorb the spiritual energy within it.
Darren frowned. "Why isn't it working?"
He tried again but could not absorb the tiniest bit of the abundant spiritual energy.
"Maybe I should try to use my Assimilation Skill."
Focusing, Darren activated the Assimilation Skill.
Within his mind came a roar like that of a waterfall.
Spiritual energy poured into his meridians like a river overflowing its banks.
"Wow." Darren's eyes shot up.
"My cultivation stage. Wow, it is increasing so fast!"
Seconds later, Darren felt as if he was going to break through from the advanced stage of the Wonder
Realm to the premium stage of the Wonder Realm.
The speed of the change was astounding. Normally such progress would take half a year of normal
cultivation.
He tried to think of other reasons why his cultivation seemed to have been progressing slowly. Perhaps
it was because the spiritual energy he had been absorbing in the past did not suit him. Was ancient
spiritual energy more suited for his development?
Deciding that to be the answer, Darren assimilated some more spiritual energy. Soon, his cultivation
base broke through to the premium stage of the Wonder Realm.
Such progress was a huge step in his development. By reaching this premium stage of the Wonder
Realm, he had elevated the integrating degree of the Augmented Attack Bloodline within his body.
"I think my power is probably fifty times stronger now. I might be able to defeat a three-star grand
warrior even if I only use blade and sword intent."
With the elevation of his Augmented Attack Bloodline, his Blade and Sword Domain had automatically
become perfected, increasing its power immensely.
After fifteen minutes, one fourth of the spiritual energy in the blue crystal had been assimilated. Darren
guessed the rest of the spiritual energy could make him break through to the top level of the supreme
stage of the Wonder Realm. Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
After his cultivation base was promoted, Darren continued with his plan to save Timothy and Abelard.
He climbed to the third floor to look for the three Divine Weapons. After searching for a while, he did
not find any of them. He assumed these weapons had been taken by the mutants.
Whoosh!
Darren flew up to the fourth floor.
When he arrived, Darren found a black mutant with a strong aura guarding a bell-shaped bronze ware.
"Human! How dare you come here?"
The black mutant charged towards Darren.
A scaled arm as thick as a pillar snapped out to strike at Darren. The release of mighty power shook
the castle.
"Shit, will the other black mutants outside notice something is happening here?" Darren wondered. "I'd
better kill him as fast as I can!"
Darren flitted to the mutant, calling upon his blade and sword intent. The ability ate up the air,
spreading throughout the room.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Blade-silhouettes and sword-lights lacerated the scales of the black mutant. Bluish black blood leaked
from the wounds.
"Ah!"
The black mutant roared angrily. The creature swelled as it prepared to go on a rampage.
"Humph, go to hell!"
Darren used Hurricane Teleportation Skill and created the eight avatars. As one, they attacked the
black mutant. He also added the olive-black force onto the edge of his blade and sword intent.
Darren's blade and sword rippled across the black mutant ceaselessly, cutting it to pieces in only a few
seconds.
"Wow, it's so easy to defeat a three-star black mutant." Although he knew he was more powerful than
before, it was still a shock to see such power in action. The feat made him wonder how he would do
against a four-star black mutant. Killing it would not be as fast, but he should be able to hold his own.
'Could I deal with the purple mutant from before?' Darren wondered. The purple mutant was a five-star
grand warrior, which was way more powerful than a four-star mutant.
Darren walked towards the bronze ware, shouting, "Timothy, Abelard, are you okay?"
He waited for a response but none came.
Darren called out again. When he heard nothing but silence for the second time, he wondered if the
two men had passed out from being confined for such a long time. Frowning, Darren studied the bell.
He walked around it, looking for a way in. He had no intention of attacking the bell since the ringing and
vibration would definitely hurt Timothy and Abelard.
Darren's eyes narrowed as he had a sudden idea. He called upon his Hurricane Teleportation Skill,
imagined the bell's interior, and activated the ability.
"Clang."
He smacked into the bell.
"Ouch." He rubbed his head and chest. "Hmm. This bell is restricted by mighty rule power. If Horace
and others were here, they might be able to open it." Darren searched his mind for any possible
answers to his current situation.
Buzz! Buzz!
His contact bead vibrated.
"Darren, is that you?" A weak voice came through via spiritual sense.
"Yes, it is me! Remove the defense." Darren almost danced with excitement.
The bronze bell began to vibrate. Cyan runes appeared on its surface. After a few moments, they
disappeared.
The bell itself slowly disappeared as if someone was erasing it from existence. There, in the space,
was Abelard and Timothy. Abelard gave Darren a weak smile, his lips extremely pale. He opened his
mouth as if to speak and then flopped onto his side, unconscious.
Timothy was lying next to Abelard, clothes stained with blood. The ground beneath him was the same.
Darren put his fingers across Timothy's wrist. Timothy was alive, but his meridians were all broken.
Items behind Timothy made Darren's brows climb his forehead. They were three weapons. A blade, a
sword, and a spear. They exuded a powerful aura.
Darren gathered his internal force, picked up the weapons, and placed them into his Space Ring. Then
he picked up the two men using the same force. Holding them within it, he flew down to the first floor.
"Mr. Chu is back,"
called out several three-star grand warriors. Cheering, they rushed toward Darren.
"They were severely injured." Darren put down the two men.
"They need someone to instill spiritual energy into them. It's the only way they can be healed now."
"I will treat the young master. The seventh elder, please cure Abelard,"
Adam ordered.
As three-star grand warriors, their injuries could be recovered fast if they had enough resources. As
such, masters of Shaoyan Clan had almost recovered.
When the air was thick with their power, they began to work on Timothy and Abelard. Threads of
spiritual energy snaked out and into the two.
In the meantime, Darren took out the blue crystal.
"Misters, can you please explain how is it that this crystal contains so much spiritual energy? What is
it?" Darren asked the masters of Shaoyan Clan.
An elder spoke up. "According to records, this spiritual crystal was a treasure from ancient times and
contains pure spiritual energy. If it melts, it can form a lake with a diameter of 100 miles.
However, for many years, even the most talented in our clan could not absorb spiritual energy from it.
We could only melt the crystal with arrays in order to access the power. By doing so, cultivation speed
of talents in our clan is much faster than other talents,"
one elder of Shaoyan Clan said.
"Ah." Darren nodded. "I see. I've absorbed one fourth of the spiritual energy from the crystal. Please
allow me to return the rest to you, together with these weapons."
Darren passed the spiritual crystal and Divine Weapons to them, but no one took them. The masters
from Shaoyan Clan regarded Darren with surprised expressions.
"Mr. Chu, did you really absorb one fourth of the spiritual energy from the spiritual crystal?" An elder
looked at Darren with doubt in his eyes.
"I didn't mean to, but when I assimilated the spiritual energy, it streamed into my meridians faster than I
could have anticipated. Before I knew it, I had assimilated one fourth of the crystal's contents,"
explained Darren.
"Ah, that is amazing!" declared the elder. "Mr. Chu, you are a real prodigy that only appears once in ten
thousand years. Please take it. On behalf of Shaoyan Clan, I beg you to accept it." The elder bowed to
Darren, pride beaming on his face.
