CHAPTER 828 THE TOAD
Darren could only sigh as he watched the depressed monkey leave.
The whole world fell silent as the monkey walked forward in the void. Even the setting sun stained the
horizon in hues of red, making it appear as if someone's heart was dripping blood.
"Hmmm."
The monkey shook his heavy head. He felt as if he were sinking to the bottom of the cold sea.
"Bloodline..." the monkey whispered. "She is noble."
The monkey kept moving forward, muddle-headed. Everything was so distorted that he did not know
where he was. A few moments later, he felt so tired that he landed on an island.
The whole island was covered with purple bamboo plants.
When the wind blew, the bamboo grove rattled, but the noise left the monkey feeling even colder as if
he were the only creature in the world.
Unable to continue, the monkey resigned to the exhaustion coursing through him. He fell on the dry
bamboo leaves and sobbed.
"What's wrong with you?"
A voice seemed to echo in his mind.
When he looked up, he saw another monkey's smiling face. He shook his head as he thought he was
out of his mind and hallucinating.
"It's rare for you to cry like this. Tell me. Who makes you sad? I'll kill him with a dozen martial arts skills
no matter who he is."
When the monkey heard the teasing words, he jumped up as if he had received an electric shock.
His body trembled when he saw the black monkey. He wasn't hallucinating after all!
On the island
Caroline glanced at the sky with sorrow-filled eyes. Her heart felt somewhat empty.
"You seem to have feelings for him,"
Darren remarked dryly to Caroline after he flew to her.
When Caroline shook herself free from the daze in which she found herself, she noticed that Darren
was beside her.
"Don't talk nonsense. His status and bloodline are poorer than mine. How could I fall in love with him?"
Caroline tried to sound practical.
"You have lived a long life, and yet, you don't see things clearly. Why don't you follow your heart? At
least, in my eyes, bloodline means nothing. It is up to you to decide who is noble and who is not!"
Darren disappeared as soon as he finished speaking.
The corner of Caroline's mouth twitched as she pondered over Darren's advice. Then she muttered,
"How can a creature's bloodline be inconsequential? Ah! Does it really matter?"
All of a sudden, a strong wind swept through this area of the sea.
The wind cut through Caroline's island, the area covered in white mist, and beyond.
Hundreds of thousands of kilometers away, a beam of red light shot toward the sky. It was so thick, like
bloody water, that no one could see through it.
"Holy crap!"
When Caroline woke from her deep thoughts, she speculated that the senior holy warrior from ancient
times was about to break out of the suppression.
Whoosh!
She flew at her fastest speed toward the Shura Abyss.
As soon as she arrived, Caroline saw three creatures, who emitted a strong aura, hovering in the air.
One of them was a stone man, ten thousand feet high and dark all over.
Another was a giant toad with a fishbone sword. Beside him was a bull-like creature with horns on his
head and blue scales all over his body.
The three powerful creatures silently glared at the abyss that was enveloped in a red mist.
"Caroline, you have also come," the stone man rudely acknowledged her presence.
"Of course, she would come. This matter concerns the survival and destruction of our sea area,
including her island. Caroline, I haven't seen you for a long time. Let me say that you look more
beautiful than ever. My heart skipped a beat when I saw you." The toad's saliva dripped from his
mouth, as he leered at Caroline's stunning figure.
"A toad wants to date a phoenix. I suggest you look in the mirror and see what you look like," the bull-
like creature with horns snorted with disdain.
"Shut up, both of you, or leave." Caroline's cold and stern voice silenced the quarreling figures.
"Caroline, you are more attractive when you are angry!" The toad rolled in the air and appeared very
excited.
"Go to hell!"
Caroline's figure flashed. In the next instant, her snow-white palm connected with the toad's face, and
the sound of skin hitting skin echoed through the area.
Then, a phoenix-shaped flame flew straight for the toad's head.
"Caw! Caw! Caw!" However, the toad did not dodge. He stuck out his scarlet tongue, grabbed the
flame, and swallowed it.
"It is delicious!" the toad said as he licked his lips.
"Caroline, the toad has achieved a high level in his martial arts skill. His abilities help him to suppress
your flames. You should know that you can't kill him," the stone man said.
"Humph!" Caroline snorted coldly and ignored the toad.
After a while, Darren also appeared.
"Who invited this trash?" the toad growled when he sensed Darren's aura.
Darren ignored the insult and stood beside Caroline quietly.
"Is he coming out?" Darren asked with a grim expression.
"A few hours at most," Caroline murmured as she stared at the blood abyss.
Darren thought silently for a while and then said, "No, we can't let him come out. If we allow him to
roam free, it will be hard to estimate how much his strength will grow. We have to kill him while he is
still suppressed."
"Cut the crap, you loser! Do you know what's in that place? A senior holy warrior from ancient times!
Even a handsome guy like me wouldn't dare to go inside. Would you dare to go?" The toad felt envy
and rage course through him when he saw Darren stand near Caroline. And now that Darren was
making such ridiculous suggestions, the toad took it as an opportunity to rebuke.
The toad had already decided that if Darren dared to retort, he would find an excuse to kill him.
"I'm not speaking to you, am I?" Darren's face darkened.
"Are you accusing me of interrupting? Are you upset?
You are insulting me! I won't allow you to live in this world!"
The toad finally found his chance! Without hesitation, he launched an attack on Darren.
The toad stuck its tongue out, which transformed into a huge red bubble in the air.
Before Darren could do anything, the red bubble enveloped him. The toad was so fast that even
Caroline couldn't react.
"Toad! If you dare to hurt Darren, I will start a life-and-death battle with you!" Caroline's expression was
extremely cold as she warned the toad.
"Humph! It seems that you are having an affair with this nobody. Now, I must kill him!" the toad
remarked. He was furious that Caroline wanted to fight him over Darren.
Meanwhile, Darren found the stench in the sticky space, unbearable.
As soon as the toad's mucus touched Darren's skin, agonizing pain shot through him. Then, blisters
grew on the exposed skin. Finally, his wounds began to fester.
'It's highly toxic, ' Darren thought.
Before he could contemplate his move, several white tadpoles crawled out of the mucus.
Each of these tadpoles had a mouth full of sharp fangs.
Several tadpoles rushed toward Darren.
Darren's blade and sword intents swept toward the tadpoles wildly, but they didn't fear his attack at all.
His blade and sword intents passed straight through them, hit the bubble wall, and dissipated.
"No, not good." Darren frowned.
"Darren, I will cooperate with you from the outside. Let's use our combined skills to kill the toad."
Relief flooded through Darren when he heard the secret message Caroline sent through her spiritual
sense.
"Okay, I'll try."
As Darren was enveloped in a disgusting mucus bubble with no access to the outside world, he didn't
know what kinds of moves Caroline would use. Only an understanding of each other's skills would
allow Darren and Caroline to cooperate.
"Let me think. She might use the move the 'Dragon Shadow and Phoenix Illusion' first." Based on his
understanding of her attack style, Darren mobilized his battle skill, and a majestic aura of dragon blood
gushed out. Belongs © to .
Outside, Caroline had already begun her fight with the toad. At this time, she seemed to have sensed
what skill Darren had used and continuously clapped her hands.
"Ha-ha, Caroline, you can't save him on your own." The toad was quite confident in his refining bladder
skill.
Boom!
The stone man and the bull-like creature next to them were shocked when a powerful force that
changed the color of heaven and earth exploded.
