CHAPTER 515 THE FOUR FOUR-STAR MUTANTS
"Family inheritance?" asked Darren. After all the stories he'd heard about Scott, Darren was really
wondering what kind of family inheritance would enable him to improve so much.
"Yes," Scott explained. "After reaching the Grand Realm, and especially after fighting with the two-star
grand warrior, I was certain I'd grown strong enough, so I went to the family forbidden area. There, I
received the inheritance of our clan.
Inside, I stepped into some kind of time turbulent flows, which allowed me to train at ten times my
normal speed. After spending a whole year inside, I broke through to the level of a three-star grand
warrior. That was why I had no idea of the danger you were in. If I had known, I would have come here
sooner." Having said all this, Scott bowed his head in apology.
His friend, however, was in high spirits. "Hah! That's no problem at all. Everything's been taken care of
already. I'm very glad that you were lucky enough to meet with such a great opportunity." In fact, Darren
was beside himself with excitement.
Scott nodded at him, staying reserved as usual. "Your own skills have improved greatly as well. By
now, I think you must be as powerful as a three-star grand warrior."
"Oh, yes. I can fight with a three-star grand warrior at the top level, and even with an ordinary four-star
grand warrior." Darren felt no need to hide his real power from his friend.
"Excellent!" For the first time, Scott's eyes lit up. "Together, you and I can kill all the mutants who are
plaguing the human race!"
"I'm afraid that won't be so easy. The five-star mutant here is not the most powerful one of them all. I
heard them mention about a king. Their king seems to be much more powerful. We'll need to watch out
for him. And there's something else I need to tell you, something I forgot before."
"What's that?" Belongs © to .
Darren briefly explained about the space passage and how it had been sealed up.
Scott furrowed his brows as he listened. His face was looking grimmer every second.
"If that has happened, then the Bottom Spiritual World is on the very brink of disaster," he murmured.
There were more than a few brutes making trouble at the borders, including the black-scaled mutants,
the double-headed men, and the demonic monsters. As for the mutants in the border of the southern
land, however, Darren hadn't seen any of them. Still, these races had some truly fierce fighters among
them. If all of them started to invade the Bottom Spiritual World together, the humans there would be in
grave danger.
"Yes," said Darren. "That's why I'm trying to improve my skills as fast as I can, so I can join the fight
against the mutants."
Having reached the supreme stage of the Wonder Realm, Darren was now facing a bottleneck unlike
any before: he had to break through to the Grand Realm!
If he could achieve that, then afterward his strength would increase exponentially. But he didn't yet
have enough Primitive Stones containing Heavenly Repression Rule in his Space Ring. Furthermore,
once Darren tried to break through to the Grand Realm, he would have to fuse the sword intent and
blade intent once again. That meant he would experience another round of suppression caused by the
Conflicting Cultivation. It would perhaps be the greatest challenge of his life and he was very anxious
about it.
"True," added Scott. "I still need to improve my strength as well. Once we're done here, I will return
home and try my best to get the ultimate inheritance." For all the progress he'd made already, it
sometimes seemed as though it would never be enough.
A few moments passed in which both men were silent, contemplating the challenges ahead of them.
But then an idea came into Darren's head. "Listen, Scott. You're from the Dragon Blood Clan. If the
mutants at the borders become too much to handle, could you possibly convince the strongest ones in
your clan to help us?"
Darren was certain that the mysterious Dragon Blood Clan had to have a great deal of powerful
members. If even just a handful of them came to help, the human beings would easily defeat the
mutants.
But Scott shook his head. "Each of the eight Holy lands is supported by a powerful clan. But you see,
they're all in the Medium Spiritual World except for my clan. They'd only send some of their younger
warriors to handle the matters in the Holy Land. And even then, the decision to send anyone has to be
made by all of the leaders of the Medium Spiritual World.
The Dragon Blood Clan, though, is in a unique position. We reside at the bottom of the sea, hundreds
of thousands of miles down. We couldn't come out of the bottom of the sea unless the leaders up there
remove the restriction.
Now that the space passage between the Bottom Spiritual World and the Medium Spiritual World has
been sealed, communication between the two worlds was blocked as well. So, it was possible for the
people up there to remove the restriction on our clan and let our members out."
"I see," said Darren slowly. "But the reason you can get in and out of there freely is because of your
identity as the Holy Lord of the Dragon Holy Land, right?"
Scott nodded. "That's correct."
Darren scowled at the ground in frustration. "Gah! I wish this mutant rebellion would happen later, so
we could have more time to improve our strength."
"So do I. But, as strong as we are now, do you think we could take down a five-star mutant?" Scott
asked.
His friend took a moment to think. "My olive-black force can hurt the black mutants pretty good. Your
dragon blood aura can restrain them quickly, as well. Together, I think we'd have a chance."
After all his training and adventures, Scott was now a three-star grand warrior at the top level. If he
pushed himself to his limits, he could equal a four-star warrior as well. Plus, the black mutants were
born scared of the aura of the dragon blood. Combined with Darren's own skill and his olive-black
force, they could indeed take on a mutant of the five-star Grand Realm.
Scott nodded his head confidently. "You're right, we do have a chance. But let's go find some other
human fighters, ones as good as us, and see if they know anything that can prove useful."
"All right."
Together the two took flight and headed out to the edge of the island.
"Wait!" shouted Darren the moment they landed on the site where Darren and other warriors had
hidden before.
As the pair doubled back, they grew suspicious.
This place was really a mess here now, with stones everywhere. Obviously, a fight happened here not
long ago.
"What's going on?" Darren wondered aloud. "Can the mutants have been here?"
This was alarming. Previously, he had heard the purple mutant telling his subordinates that they were
going to wait a while before making their move. Why would they suddenly invade this place now?
His worry intensified when he realized that he could sense no human warriors anywhere nearby. Their
auras were simply gone.
The commanding voice of his friend broke through his thoughts. "Follow me!" Looking up, he saw Scott
darting out toward the sea, and rushed to catch up with him.
After some moments of cruising over the waters, something caught Darren's eye. It looked like a giant
black bubble, floating calmly on the surface of the sea. He could sense nothing inside of that bizarre
enclosure.
All he needed to do was to point it out to his friend. Never one for hesitation, Scott zoomed ahead and
hit the bubble head-on.
Its gleaming black surface put up no resistance. With a whooshing sound, he passed through it as
easily as he would a cloud. Darren was right behind him and disappeared inside as well.
"So another two humans came? That's great!"
Hearing these malevolent words, Darren and Scott froze, and the cruel gazes of four powerful black
mutants darted towards them.
Looking around, the two spotted a mass of over a hundred human cultivators. They all stood in rings,
facing outward in battle stances. As fierce and defiant as they looked, they were clearly in a tight spot.
Some of the weaker warriors were already dead on the floor.
Several of the trapped humans spotted the newcomers and started to shout at them. "Darren, get out
of here! It's too late for us!
Save yourselves!" the grand warriors from the eastern land shouted as soon as they saw Darren.
One of the black mutants heard this and interjected snidely. "'Get out of here'? But they've only just
arrived! You stupid humans have no chance of escape! Who among you can equal the skills of our high
priest?!"
The black bubble that encased them all was the perfect trap for unwary humans. It was very easy to
get in, but leaving was another matter. Five-star or six-star grand warriors were strong enough to break
it from the inside. Otherwise, the only way to escape was by killing its controller.
Darren and Scott studied their fellow humans, noting their exhausted expressions and their weary
stances. It was clear that they had already spent some time fighting for their lives. Beaten down and
surrounded, they were in a tight place indeed.
From the looks of them, the four black mutants were nothing to sneeze at. They were probably at the
level of four-star grand warriors, if not higher. The warriors from the eastern land had the power of the
Sky Piercing Array, and with the help of Horace, Rocky and Nick, they should be able to handle two
four-star mutants. Moreover, there were other, equally skilled warriors from the southern land. Even so,
the human warriors were beaten by the four mutants.
"Where's your leader, the purple mutant?" Darren asked one of the mutants in an almost casual tone.
"Hah! Are you talking about that bastard, Dahl? He has no authority over us. Our leader is Quincy, and
we're here to take charge of things. And as for you humans, we'll crush you like ants!"
Now Darren understood the situation completely. These four black mutants weren't under the purple
one's control at all. Their group was independent. They had come across the human warriors
accidentally, and so battle had resulted.
"Crush us like ants, huh? We'll see about that!" Scott said, his voice low and dangerous. Meanwhile, he
prepared to unleash his powerful aura of dragon blood.
Once that was brought into the fight, it would suppress the four mutants' strength. Even with the four of
them fighting together, Scott would wipe the floor with them!
But just as he was about to burst into motion, Darren suddenly held up a hand. "Hold up, Scott. Don't
waste your energy on these four. How about I fight them on my own? They're the ones who will be
crushed like ants."
Scott gave his friend a puzzled look. Rather than objecting, however, he nodded his head, drew his
aura back, and relaxed. Apparently he agreed with Darren.
Meanwhile, the nearby human cultivators were staring in shocked silence. Mocking several vicious
opponents like that was cocky enough. But now Darren wanted to fight all four of the four-star mutants
the same time? It was impossible for him to win!
