CHAPTER 1053 HOW TO FIGHT
"Are you going there, Scott?"
"Yes. We have to get the cyan dragon out,"
Scott answered coldly. He kept his gaze in the direction of the Fire Cave.
The Fire Cave was a special relic that contained the million-kilometer long corpse of a cyan dragon. By
obtaining the dragon's inheritance, Scott would surely become invincible.
"Scott, attempting to take the cyan dragon's inheritance is dangerous. It's best if we just wait for
Darren. Then you two can look out for each other."
Finley might be powerful, but he didn't have a drop of dragon blood in his veins. Even if he wanted to
help Scott, he couldn't. Darren was the only one who could help him.
"You don't have to bother. The eighteen cities have already sealed their passages. Darren wouldn't be
able to return now for the time being. We can only rely ourselves to protect this world. With the first
fiend ancestor's body parts and the Inner Fiend on the loose, it would be difficult to fight them off," Scott
insisted. His face was hardened into determination.
"Well...Be careful."
Finley and the Water Kylin had finally conceded. Scott might be right, and the best course of action for
now was to get the cyan dragon's inheritance before a crisis fell upon them all.
Without saying anything else, Scott nodded his head at everyone and flew away.
"Water Kylin, there're only three forbidden areas left. If all of them are broken, we're doomed," Finley
said.
"When the first forbidden area was destroyed, the Witcher Power had descended from heaven to guard
the remaining areas. The fiend wouldn't dare approach it now. Our problem now is that Inner Fiend. We
can't defeat him, so it's him we should be worried about." The Water Kylin seemed bitter with
resentment.
In fact, it was the Inner Fiend who had destroyed the first forbidden area many years ago. Barnes was
completely blameless from this. But since the Inner Fiend made an agreement with the first fiend
ancestor, he spared no effort to save him.
As a result from the Inner Fiend's attack, a powerful Witch Power descended from the sky to guard the
remaining seven forbidden areas. The first fiend ancestor couldn't approach it, but the Inner Fiend still
could. As he struggled to break through the Witcher Power, he released another part of the first fiend
ancestor's body.
The four greatest holy warriors only noticed what was happening after the Inner Fiend released two
parts of the first fiend ancestor's body. With the Heavenly Exterminating Array, they had almost killed
the first fiend ancestor. But the Inner Fiend, who was disguised as Barnes back then, saved him.
Since then, two body parts of the first fiend ancestor had been on the run, and the four greatest holy
warriors had chased after him.
For years, everyone, even the four greatest holy warriors, thought it was Barnes who saved the fiend!
Now, the fiend had five body parts with him. He only needed three more to reach his peak. If he
obtained those parts, no one could defeat him then.
Silence settled inside the hall as Finley tried to come up with a better idea.
When suddenly, it was interrupted by a loud bang.
A figure fell down, smashing straight through the ground.
"Help me! Help me..."
A hoarse voice came out of the crumpled heap. The thing embedded on the floor was a black monkey
who turned out to be Barnes himself!
"Barnes! What happened to you? You've already recovered much of your strength and yet, how come
you're beaten like this?" The mutated monkey rushed forward and helped Barnes get up.
"I'm sorry, buddy! Now, get me some herbs. Everything hurts!" Barnes gingerly stood up. His entire
body was covered in wounds.
"Damn it! What's going on?" Finley asked.
"What's going on? I was caught by the Inner Fiend and that fiend!" Barnes shouted angrily.
The Water Kylin immediately jumped over to Barnes and said, "How can the fiend ancestor attack you
in the forbidden areas? If I remember correctly, he couldn't even get close to any of the forbidden
areas."
"Are you really that stupid? Of course, the Inner Fiend lured me out of there." As Barnes glanced at the
Water Kylin, a dozen mixed feelings began wrestling over each inside his heart.
"How dare you curse me? Are you spoiling for a fight?" With that, the Water Kylin raked his claws at
Barnes, tearing through his skin.
"How dare you?" Barnes whipped out his golden stick.
He knew that he could overpower both the Water Kylin and Finley. After all, he was at the peak of a six-
tribulation senior holy warrior. His power exceeded theirs even when combined. Over the years, it was
Barnes who prevented the release of the other body parts.
"What are you guys doing? Stop it this instant. Can't you see that we're in the middle of a crisis right
now?" Finley had inserted himself in between them.
"Barnes, go take some rest. You still have three forbidden areas to guard," Finley said. His eyes were
trained on Barnes.
"Humph!" Barnes only snorted and said, "Fine. Just go get me the best herbs. I'm badly hurt."
He then dragged his broken body into a secret room.
Once Barnes was gone, Finley turned his attention back on the Water Kylin.
Without warning, he smacked him right at the back of the head.
"Shit! Why did you hit me?" The Water Kylin's glare was as sharp as daggers.
"Why did you have to offend him like that? He has been guarding the forbidden areas for years. His
contribution is great. While you? What have you contributed?" holds text © rights.
"I..." The Water Kylin seemed to ponder on this for a moment before he answered, "But he scolded
me."
"So what if he called you stupid?" Finley smiled playfully.
"Are you also looking for a fight, Finley?" The Water Kylin was getting angrier by the second.
"Stop it. I'm your friend. I don't want to fight with you!" Then, Finley turned around and went to practice
alone.
The Water Kylin froze for a moment before relaxing.
"You're right." He paused for a moment before saying, "Well, I wonder how is master now. When will he
come back?" Sighing, he looked out far into the distance.
Meanwhile, the first fiend ancestor, who was formed by the three newly escaped body parts, and the
Inner fiend were deep into discussion inside a cave.
"Inner Fiend, why did you let him go?"
"Well, are we really going to kill him if we didn't let him go?" the Inner Fiend sneered.
Indeed, the thought of killing Barnes had never crossed his mind. He wanted to assimilate him instead.
Doing so would let him reach a peak state that he had never experienced before.
Like Barnes, he was at the peak of a seven-tribulation senior holy warrior when he was at his prime.
His combat skills and strength were unparalleled.
If he devoured Barnes, then he would become the second eight-tribulation senior holy warrior. One of
the two in this world!
The first eight-tribulation senior holy warrior was from the ancient times. Up until now, his existence
remained debatable.
Once the Inner Fiend became an eight-tribulation senior holy warrior, he could even kill a super
emperor! This was what he wanted most.
"I get why you don't want to kill him, but I just don't understand why you let him go," the first fiend
ancestor said.
Obviously, he knew the difference between killing and capturing.
"Do you think that I haven't thought this through already? We can't capture him alive." The Inner Fiend
snorted, shaking his head.
After all, Barnes could escape with his special technique. This made capturing him useless. They had
to overpower him in all ways before they could catch him.
The first fiend ancestor let out a piercing howl.
It was filled with resentment and frustration. They decided not to speak anymore.
But then, a low sound reverberated in the air.
A dark crack suddenly appeared at the mouth of the cave.
It yawned open.
And a black pyramid spiraled out from the crack.
The first fiend ancestor grabbed the black pyramid and pushed it inside his brain.
"I want to cultivate alone. Help me open the rest of the forbidden areas as soon as possible."
With that, he turned around and stepped through the darkness. In an instant, he was gone.
