CHAPTER 1367 THE BLACK CAVALRY
After feeling light-headed for a moment, Sally quickly gained control of her body and arrived at a dark
place where the only source of light was the light spots flickering before her.
Upon instinct, she released her spiritual sense and tried to reach for those flickering light spots,
dancing without a care in the air.
Whoosh!
Suddenly, they began to gather, intensifying their brightness. The disorganized light spots formed an
intricate pattern, connecting with each other.
On the outside, Darren and the others watched intently as Sally closed her eyes, falling into a deep
sense of concentration as she cultivated.
"It seems that Sally has been accepted without any complications and has begun comprehending the holds text © rights.
old turtle's skill.
Old turtle, what about the rest of us?" Finley asked, growing impatient.
Annoyed, the old turtle just closed his eyes once more, shutting them out entirely. Their haste and
indifference were infuriating to the old turtle. He cursed their guts in his heart. 'With such a vile attitude
towards me, how can you expect to earn my inheritance?'
"Guys! I have communicated with the battle beast! Look at this flashy skill I just earned!" An excited
shout was heard from the sky.
Whoosh!
The next moment, they watched as a fiery red spear darted from a giant beast's claw and pierced its
way through the void.
"You think that's cool? Check this out. I have communicated with the battle beast too! I've acquired a
teleportation skill!"
Another person perched atop a giant eagle flashed wantonly in the sky, teleporting many times in a row
to keep the spectators glued to himself.
For a moment, dozens of creatures dominated the airspace, taking turns to flaunt their newly acquired
skills to the awestruck crowd below.
"They're all so cool. I can't help but envy them..." Weber confessed honestly with envious eyes while
witnessing the spectacle from the sidelines.
However, they only had this old turtle in their possession. Regardless of their desires, they couldn't
display such flashy skills. After all, there was a visible difference in abilities between the turtle and the
other battle beasts.
"Turtle, please, we need you to cooperate with us. Show us how powerful you are. We want to know
about the skills in your arsenal so we could comprehend them quickly. If you don't set your ego aside,
you'll suffer the losses just as much as we would when we're pitted against our enemy in battle,"
Darren pleaded, sounding desperate. At this point, he was even content with a fraction of the turtle's
power, if not all.
Listening intently to Darren's pleas, the old turtle shot him a side-glance. Out of all the others, the old
turtle held an indifferent impression towards Darren. At least he didn't dislike him entirely.
The next moment, Darren felt a mouthful of faint yellow energy breach the walls of his body, claiming
their territory.
Similar to Sally, Darren, too, was exposed to the light spots frolicking about in the air. Each of those
spots connected with each other, forming ten unique patterns.
"What am I supposed to focus on? There are so many of them...This is so complicated."
Darren was struck with confusion from the sight that greeted him. These ten patterns crisscrossed and
formed ten space diagrams. Each of these space diagrams had eight faces, and each face seemed to
show something different from others.
There was no telling what he was supposed to comprehend. With his anxiety tugging at his focus,
Darren was left clueless on how to approach the situation.
The scenario would have overturned in his favor if the Rule Soul Avatar were here. With his unmatched
deduction skills, figuring this issue out would have been a cinch. But Darren was different. His
analyzing ability and Spirit Power were ordinary and paled in comparison to his prodigious martial
talent.
However, Darren had come to realize the old turtle was no trifling creature since his skill was far from
straightforward when it came to comprehending it. With this conviction in mind, Darren brushed aside
all irrelevant thoughts and began comprehending with his utmost attention.
Watching Darren indulge himself in comprehension, Finley, Lindsay and Beatty understood those
cowering tactics wouldn't work to persuade the old turtle. Rather, he was prone to flattery.
Therefore, each of them took turns and showered the old turtle with compliments against their will.
Soon, they too were passed down the faint yellow energy, and began to comprehend the skills
sincerely.
However, Weber condemned to partake in such an underhanded means to gain the old turtle's power.
'The old turtle is nothing but a low-level creature. What's with that arrogance anyway? There's no way
I'll stoop so low as to kiss his feet to get a share in his skills. It's all a ruse, and they're all falling victim
to it!'
Weber had pinned the old turtle as a coward, who would sink into his shell at the first sign of trouble.
He'd rather rely on his strength alone to fight than expect anything from the old turtle.
Even though he was hell-bent on his decision, he was still uncertain and feared for his safety without
the help of the Archean battle beast. With conflicted thoughts clouding his head, he flew into the sky.
"Hey, everyone! How's it going? Have you been eating and sleeping properly?"
Weber landed on top of a huge rhinoceros' head and greeted the human talents there, trying to hide his
awkwardness with a smile.
"Fatty, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be focusing on communicating with your battle beast?"
Hearing those words, Weber grew frustrated. "Buddies, do you have any conscience referring to him as
a battle beast? He would even tumble over and fall on his shell when he walks!"
Weber's remarks made them struggle to stifle their laughter. After all, it was impolite to laugh at
someone else's misfortune in such a situation.
"Sure, he's small. But, he is from an Archean race. Surely he must possess some remarkable skills."
"That's right. We can't underestimate the turtle."
Agitated, Weber rolled his eyes. "Come on! Stop telling me comforting lies. I'll cut to the chase. The
reason why I came here was your battle beast. There's no denying, he looks strong. I was hoping to
share in his benefit with you guys. If even just a little, could you let me comprehend a fraction of your
beast's skills? You won't mind, right?"
"No can do, fatty. Battle beasts choose their own hosts. It's their call, not ours. You can't join us, even if
we wanted you to."
Weber discarded his words as nonsensical.
"Guess I'll know for myself if I try then." He flew in front of the rhinoceros to face him and requested,
"Dear rhinoceros, I need..."
Bang!
Before he could finish, Weber was left submerged in a pool of mucus, which was the saliva of the giant
rhinoceros, signaling his rejection.
It all happened so suddenly that Weber was left with no window to react and ended up swallowing a lot
of the mucus.
Flinching at the embarrassing turn of events, Weber fell to the ground, drenched in mucus. The density
and stickiness of it hindered him from flying as flawlessly as before. The whole ordeal made him feel
awful.
Repulsed from his condition, Weber threw up constantly, adding to his pitiful state. Even so, he
remained steadfast and flew to the next battle beast in sight.
However, each attempt ended up in an embarrassing rejection. Soon, Weber was riddled with scars
and began to lose his resolve.
Defeated, he walked towards the old turtle, head lowered in humility.
"Dear turtle, if I told you that I'm ready to accept your power, would you still accept me?" Weber
pleaded, head still lowered.
The old turtle stared Weber down, eyes filled with contempt. 'Humph! This fatty has the guts to turn to
me after prioritizing other beasts before me.'
"Dear turtle, have you forgotten that I carried you on my back all the way here? Please consider the old
favor I did you."
Suddenly, the old turtle's expression relaxed. As if he was grinning, his lips parted slightly.
Swoosh!
Just like the others had seen, a stream of faint yellow energy spurted from his mouth.
Thinking that he convinced the old turtle to lend him his skills, Weber felt overjoyed. 'You old turtle, all
the years you walked this world, you learned nothing. How could you fall for such a facade?'
Unbeknownst to Weber, he was the one being naive.
Bang!
Weber was thrown off for a lot of feet.
"Damn it!"
At that moment, the huge valley fell victim to violent tremors. Amidst the chaos, a crack paved its way
on the stone gate in the center of the valley.
From that crack, a gust of cold wind forced its way through, sweeping over the ground, plucking
particles of sand and stones in its influence.
Ferocious roars were heard from behind the gate, declaring war on those on the other end.
Just then, the stone gate was busted open. Numerous black shadows emerged from the gate,
instigating fear from their presence.
In just a few seconds, the black shadows perched atop blazing alien horses arranged themselves in
ranks.
"Our enemy has shown up!"
After the declaration, various huge battle beasts stood in neatly arranged rows with their human talents
pulling their reins.
The only one still rooted to their spot was the old turtle. Darren and his companions remained in a state
of concentration, immersed in their respective comprehension, showing no signs of waking up.
Thump! Thump! Thump!
The first side to show advancement was the black shadows, who ascended to the sky. Their bodies
continued to grow each passing second.
Soon, hundreds of powerful black cavalrymen dominated the sky, inciting intimidation. Their bodies
were the size of the mountains.
"Archean creatures...The bigger, the stronger, isn't that right?" Everyone was rendered speechless.
"Stay where you are. Let me probe first."
The talents riding the battle beast with a lion's head and a horse's body took the initiative and rushed
into the enemy's camp.
Grasping the long pike in its hand, the battle beast dashed towards the enemy, guns blazing.
Amassing at the pike, the Archean god's power incarnated into a crimson-red flame, attempting to burn
the void.
"Go!"
"Kill him!"
From the enemy's ranks, a black cavalryman rushed out to neutralize the upcoming attack, a long
spear in his grip.
When both forces collided with each other, the Archean god's power proved insufficient and dissipated,
causing a space to collapse.
"No good! Use the speed skill to dodge! Activate the defense!" stricken with panic, a human genius
ordered.
In just a single exchange of blows, they were almost confronted with sudden death. Fortunately, they
managed to communicate with the beast in time and raised their defensive power enough to ensure
their survival.
They hadn't imagined the black cavalry to pack such formidable strength.
To add insult to injury, the black cavalrymen outnumbered them by leaps and bounds. The tide of the
battle couldn't be decided that easily. It would cause them more inconvenience than they had initially
expected.
