CHAPTER 1248 THE KILLER
A supreme god's blood essence contained infinite power from heaven and earth. No one with a level
below the deputy gods would dare touch it.
"Darren, Supreme God Sheffield was ranked fourth among the supreme gods during the ancient times.
He had even fought against a chief god once. His blood essence would contain his evil aura, so any
creature that formed by it would be extremely ferocious. Even the powerful warriors of the Superior
God Realm would find it difficult to defeat them. Don't you think that's a big deal?" Murphy said as he
smiled faintly.
"How could a few drops of blood essence be that powerful?" Darren was surprised by that.
"Of course, the supreme gods from the human race are much stronger than you can imagine."
"Well, I didn't know that." Darren nodded his head.
"But anyway, let's move on to a different subject. Master Adolf, if you can, please help us make the
divine patterns now," Murphy said.
"Thank you so much, Master Adolf," Darren said. He brought his hands together and bowed
respectfully.
Adolf nodded his head slowly and said, "Level-five divine patterns are easy to make. I can finish them
in a few hours. And boy, if you're interested, you can go and hunt some Divine Pattern Beasts. When
you have enough fragments, I can make more high-level divine patterns for you."
"Divine Pattern Beasts? I'm afraid I won't be able to find one easily. And even if I do, it would be difficult
for me to kill it with my low strength," Darren said.
"You can try looking for them at north of the Ninth Precipitous Mountain. Perhaps you'll be lucky
enough to find some level-six divine pattern fragments," Adolf suggested.
"Okay. I'll try that as soon as I have the time." It was then that Darren remembered how Duke, who had
transformed into a small dragon at that time, swallowed a level-five Divine Pattern Beast. If he were to
take Duke to search for the divine pattern fragments, he might have an unexpected harvest.
However, he wasn't planning on looking for the fragments at the moment. He needed to cultivate and
improve his skills first.
"Very well then. Master Murphy, please arrange a secret room for me where I can make the divine
patterns," Adolf said.
"Okay, please follow me."
With that, the two of them left.
Now that he was alone, Darren began his cultivation. He immediately entered the Void Space, ready to
begin studying the third move of the supreme sword skill.
However, he couldn't help but remember what the sect leader of the Cloud Forest Sect had told him.
Once he learned the third move, he would be the enemy of all the people who had ever practiced the
sword skill.
"It doesn't matter anyway. There are already many people who want to kill me." He let out a laugh
before he began immersing himself in his cultivation.
Inside the Void Space, he was already on the second step and was about to move on to the third.
Unlike the previous times he cultivated, he was surprised to have immediately reached the third step.
"What's going on?"
However, there was no sword intent attack that appeared upon reaching the third step.
"That's strange."
He continued to try again and again for some time, but there was still no reaction. He even tried using
his sword intent to attack the third step, but nothing worked.
"Darren, the divine patterns are ready. Please take them."
His train of thoughts was interrupted when Murphy appeared. He had no choice but to retreat from the
Void Space.
Taking the divine patterns, he infused them into his blood. A dark red light flowed through the meridians
in his arms as the divine patterns merged easily with his blood.
"That's it then. We won't disturb you any longer. You can focus on your cultivation now."
"Master Murphy," Darren called out to stop Murphy from leaving. "When can I get out of the Tussle
Region?"
"I'm not sure. You have to go beyond the middle-level of the Celestial God Realm first. Or you can try
collecting one billion killing points."
"Damn it!" Darren rolled his eyes. He still had a long way to go before meeting either of the two
requirements.
"Don't worry. There's actually another way. If you're lucky, you can take part in the Tussle Contest. It is
held every hundred years. If you get into the top three, you can choose to leave then," Murphy said.
"The Tussle Contest? Can you tell me more about that?" Darren asked.
"The Tussle Contest is held by the Tussle Holy House. They only select ten thousand talents every one
hundred years. They only choose those at the top level of the Star God Realm and above. Judging by
the year now, there's only a dozen years left before the contest starts again. I didn't tell you this before holds text © rights.
since I thought you didn't have much chance to participate," Murphy admitted.
"A dozen years," Darren murmured. Currently, he was at the upper-level of the Domain God Realm. It
would take him at least a few hundred more years to reach the top level of the Star God Realm. If he
wanted to get into the contest, he had to wait and miss out several Tussle Contests.
However, he felt like he had more chance with the Tussle Contest compared to the two other
conditions. After all, he could kill people from a higher realm.
With renewed hope, Darren continued his cultivation. However, he could feel his heart beating
restlessly against his chest even after he had calmed down.
"Why am I feeling this way?" He felt flustered because he had never felt this way before.
"Is Elsa in danger?" He continued to mutter. Suddenly, he was no longer in the mood to practice.
"It isn't Elsa who's in danger. It's you."
A voice flowed inside his ears.
"Who are you?"
Startled, Darren jumped to his feet and immediately spread out his god's sense. There was no one
around.
Then, a black figure emerged from the shadows.
Darren frowned. He was inside a secret room in the branch of the Starry Sword Sect. How could a man
get in there without a sound? He must be very powerful to be able to do that.
"Sir, may I ask why you're here?" Darren asked calmly.
"Oh, I'm just here to kill you."
Laughter rang out inside the room. "I didn't know that I have offended such a powerful warrior like you,"
Darren sneered.
"You haven't offended me. But I can earn three million killing points by simply killing you. It's nothing
personal."
"It seems like someone have employed you to kill me." Realization suddenly dawned on Darren. "But
three million killing points for my life? My life isn't that cheap. I think it's worth seven million, at least."
"What do you mean?" the man asked coldly.
"I happen to have seven million killing points at the moment. How about I buy my life back?" Darren
looked at the man calmly.
The man in front of him was definitely stronger than him. He wouldn't stand a chance against him in a
fight.
"As much as I want to earn seven million killing points, we from the Blood Abyss Sect have our
principles. Your destiny now is to die."
"Is it really non-negotiable? I can give you some divine pattern fragments instead if you want," Darren
offered.
"Unfortunately, I still have to finish my task even if you give me some level-twelve divine patterns."
Darren continued to wrack his head for something to stall the time. "But I'm curious. Who would even
bother spending three million killing points having me killed? Can you tell me that at least?"
"My principles have bound me not to tell you that information. But since you're as good as dead, I'll be
merciful for now. It's the Gambling King—Maxwell Tang, who wants you dead."
"Ah, so it really is him." Darren narrowed his eyes. He already had a feeling that it was the Gambling
King all along, but it wouldn't hurt to be sure about it.
However, knowing who was behind this wouldn't help him now. He couldn't even send a message out
of the secret room. He was completely trapped.
"Help me, dragon ancestor! If you don't wake up this time, we'll surely be dead!"
At the surface, he remained calm. Deep down, however, he was getting desperate.
In fact, he was afraid that even the dragon ancestor would be no match against the man in front of him.
After all, the strength that the dragon ancestor had displayed before was only at the Star God Realm.
