CHAPTER 721 GAZING AT THE ABANDONED WELL
'Can I really see the future in the abandoned well?'
Darren had no doubt about the witcher's ability. But the future was uncertain. Would the result be real?
Since there was such a magical thing, it would be all right to take a look. Moreover, Darren would like to
visit the deceased witcher.
"Let's go. I want to see what my future is like." Darren followed and jumped in front of her, pointing at
her chest.
"And you silly girl, no matter what happens in the future, don't leave me. Okay?"
Elsa nodded with a happy smile on her face. She thought for a while and turned her head. Her mouth
lifted, showing off a mischievous smile.
"Humph, that's not right. What if you have a crush on someone else in the future?" Elsa pouted and
looked at him with "really depressed" eyes.
Darren's mouth curved up at that. "That's easy. You can be my wife, and they can be my mistresses."
His smile widened from one ear to another, turning into a grin. Belongs © to .
Elsa's mouth twitched at that. Anger flashed on her face, and she shot a cold gaze at him. "You are
courting death! You bastard!" she threatened, as if she wanted to kill Darren.
"Well, if you dare to hit me, I will end up kissing you as a punishment." Darren leaned at her only to be
pushed away by Elsa.
"No! No! Don't do that!"
They came across a wild place, filled with clouds and mists, which looked a little isolated.
In the depths of the clouds, two extraordinary figures stopped in front of a cottage.
"You bastard, you dared to talk about punishment and offend me? I'm your senior sister apprentice. It is
me who should punish you for disrespecting me!" Elsa's hair was a little messy. Her expressions
twisted into a stern and angry look, although her heart was filled with sweetness.
"Oh, really?" The corners of Darren's lips quirked up and slipped into a teasing smile. "Then how
exactly did I offend you? You don't have to hide it, tell me everything in detail."
'You didn't offend me. Instead, you were trying to find innovative ways to kiss me, ' Elsa thought in her
heart, but her face looked expressionless. She pushed Darren and marched ahead. "Go away!" Elsa's
face slowly turned pink, and she hid her red cheeks behind her hair.
"Where do you want me to go? Let's go together!" Darren followed Elsa, not willing to stay away from
her.
"You shameless bastard! You really deserve my punishment." Elsa turned around, faked her angry
look, and glared at Darren. She was going to pinch Darren by the arm when she heard a voice.
"What are you doing here?"
A young man flew over and stared nervously at Darren and Elsa.
Darren straightened himself and shot a curious gaze at the young man. "We just come here to have a
look. We don't mean anything bad. You don't need to be afraid." His face became calm and composed.
"Oh, you are Darren, aren't you?" The young man looked at Darren up and down, and recognition filled
his eyes.
It turned out that he was the little boy who had brought Darren to this thatched cottage back then. Now
he had grown up.
"Oh, it's you. Long time no see. You are all grown up." Darren's shoulders relaxed, recognizing the
young man.
"Hey, Darren, Elsa, come in and have a seat. I'm so happy to see you again today. I've been living
alone for years since the master passed away. Soon after that, you and the two girls also had left me
back then."
The three of them entered the cottage that was clean and simple. Two cups of hot tea had been
prepared on the bamboo table.
At that time, the young man sat and gestured for his guests to join him on the table. "Darren, Elsa, did
you come back to visit me?" Fabian, the young man, said with a smile.
"Ha-ha, I'm here to worship the witcher. I didn't even know you were here." Darren grinned as his gaze
fixed on the young man.
Fabian laughed aloud at Darren's reply, but he had expected something like that. "Oh, Darren, don't be
so noble. Just pretend you are here to see me, then I will be happy." He helplessly looked at both
Darren and Elsa.
The three of them smiled and stood up to walk ahead.
After chatting for a while, Darren and Elsa came to the place where the witcher died. They burned
some incense and kowtowed three times.
Without this witcher, Darren would not have been able to survive the Heavenly Repression at that time.
He was deeply grateful to him.
"Fabian, can you take us to the abandoned well?" All three of them stood up after the worship, and
Darren turned to face Fabian.
"The abandoned well? You mean the future well? A well that can predict the future, right?"
Darren nodded. "Probably."
Fabian thought for a while and shook his head. "This place could only be opened with strong Spirit
Power. I have no such power." He was helpless since his power wasn't as high as his master. Still,
Darren wouldn't budge.
"It doesn't matter. Take me there. I want to try." Darren's Spirit Power had reached level 29, so it was
easy for him to open the well, despite its master had gone.
Fabian sighed and turned around. "Okay, follow me."
There was a touch of musty smell in the bamboo hut. On the old bamboo table, the oil lamp had been
off for years.
Elsa's gaze was fixed on the scene in front of her that made her sad. It sent her back to the time when
she and Darren separated years ago. Since then, she often immersed herself in missing him. Elsa had
never experienced so much loneliness and heart-wrenching agony before until that day.
Darren slipped his concerned eyes at Elsa. He put his arms around her waist and pulled her closer,
giving her a reassuring smile. When it seemed she was okay, he turned back and released the Spirit
Power.
Just as the energy touched the bamboo wall, it started cracking. With a flash, the crack opened and
revealed a light door.
Fabian's eyes widened at the scene, and he started cheering for Darren. "Wow! Awesome! How did
you manage to open the door?" Fabian was surprised at Darren's mighty Spirit Power.
Darren just flashed a smile, but he didn't reply to Fabian's statement. "Let's go together," Elsa said to
Fabian.
Fabian laughed helplessly. "No, thanks. The master forbade me to go there when he was alive. I have
to follow his orders." Fabian scratched his head and backed up a few steps.
"Okay, then we'll go. Bye!"
"Good luck." Fabian waved at their fading figures who entered the door.
Space was entirely covered by gray color. Only a running river could be seen clearly in the depth of the
void.
Darren frowned at the scene and looked closely at the river. He was just wondering about what that
river was when he heard Elsa's voice.
"Darren, do you know the name of this river?" Elsa decided to speak Darren's heart. She was also
pondering over the existence of the river.
"Well, I guess it is called Heaven Lake." Even though Darren uttered those words, he wasn't sure.
Elsa playfully punched his arms. "Silly you! It couldn't be that simple. The witcher once told me that the
river was called the River of Forgetfulness. It's said that the first witcher ancestor found it when he
created the void. One can forget everything as long as he drinks water in the river."
Darren looked at the river in astonishment. "Really? Is it so amazing?" He didn't know such a type of
river existed that could make you forget anything.
"Of course. But it isn't easy to get the water from the river. Otherwise, I would have drunk it and
forgotten you."
The last sentence pierced Darren's heart into pieces. "No, you would never do that." Darren held Elsa
in his arms. His fingers started making circles and running over her body, but Elsa shoved his hands
away and glared at him.
"Don't do that, idiot! We are in the witcher's place." Even though Elsa seemed angry on the surface, in
her mind, she giggled helplessly. A blush had started to creep on her face.
Darren's lips twitched into a smile. It was inappropriate to do that at this time, indeed. At least, he had
successfully shifted her mind away from unpleasant memories.
"Let's go and see the well." Darren and Elsa stood in front of the abandoned well.
"You go and see it. I'm scared to look inside. I would stay here and wait for you." Elsa took two steps
back, and a breathtaking smile plastered on her face.
"Okay, wait for me."
Darren walked to the edge of the abandoned well and looked down.
The well was covered by a white mist. He narrowed his eyes and focused. Slowly, his gaze pierced
through the mist, as if he was shuttling through the clouds.
Something started to change as his gaze fell on the very bottom of the well. After a moment, he saw a
piece of land, which was more abandoned than any other place.
Countless huge beasts were galloping there, and some fierce birds were raging with strong breath.
Rotten meat and blood were scattered everywhere.
'Is this the ancient wilderness?'
Darren wondered why such a scene was unfolded before him. 'Didn't they say people could see the
future in the well?'
Darren looked at the well for a while. Suddenly, a man with dark golden eyes appeared. He couldn't
see his face clearly, except his eyes.
Boom!
The man suddenly launched his attack. The ground cracked and collapsed.
Everything was covered with dark golden energy that circled like a cyclone. It started sweeping
throughout the world, destroying many lands.
'That is the dark gold internal force formed by the fusion of the sword and blade intents!
It's a million times stronger than my dark gold internal force!' Darren's mouth fell ajar, and his eyes
were wide opened after he saw the scene in front of him.
He looked closely, and yet, he could not find out what the man with dark golden eyes was attacking.
He looked around, and another face appeared before his eyes.
That person seemed heroic and courageous by observing the way he dressed. He was wearing red
armor and a red mask. He held a spear burning with blood flame in his hand, and then furiously swung
it at the man with dark golden eyes.
At this moment, the blood-red light shot into the sky and suppressed the dark gold internal force. The
air was full of cracks, and countless lightning filled the whole world.
'He is even stronger than the cultivator of both blade and sword skills!' Darren was very shocked. He
could not describe the mystery and strength of the blood-red power.
By the time the screen cleared, everything was back to silence. The man with dark golden eyes was
pierced in the chest by the blood-red spear and fell down.
Darren's heart started racing at its fastest speed. He couldn't calm himself down even for a second. He
knew that he could see the future in the well. Even though he couldn't see the face of the man in the
well, he guessed that the man with dark gold eyes was himself.
But the next moment, he suddenly realized that he was wrong.
