CHAPTER 916 LAURA JI
Once again, the disciples of the Holy City were left flabbergasted by the scene.
Darren's talent had exceeded their expectations yet again. They couldn't help but be amazed by it.
It was rare to see someone possess both powerful blood red power and a sword intent which had
surpassed its limit.
It was then they realized that Darren must have been cultivating both blade and sword skills at the
same time.
If it wasn't for the pain they were currently suffering after that violent blow, they would have thought
they were only imagining Darren's capabilities. After all, how could such a genius exist?
"Boy, your sword intent may be admirable but you're rubbish when it comes to being a junior holy
warrior. It's so sad to see such powerful sword intent go to waste. Now, you shall go to hell!"
Indeed, his sword intents were strong but the level of his cultivation base was low. This hindered him
from fully utilizing his skill.
If only Darren was a top senior holy warrior or a four-tribulation junior holy warrior, he could have killed
Myron in an instant with just his sword intents. But since he wasn't, defeating Myron would be difficult.
"Hey! Are you forgetting about me?"
This time, it was Chaz speaking. It seemed like his injuries had started to heal.
Myron only looked at him and snorted. It was obvious that he wasn't taking Chaz seriously. "Humph!
Your cultivation level is a little lower than mine. I could easily crush you without exerting that much
effort."
"Very well then. Show us what you got!"
With his halberd in hand, Chaz rushed towards Myron.
A splendid bright light shot up into the sky while a sonorous sound played at the background.
The halberd collided with Myron's dark lightning sword intent. Sparks burst out from their point of
contact. The earth shook each time their weapons clashed as if the very ground shifted with each blow.
Darren had to grab hold on something to avoid getting knocked off by the aftershock. He had to step
away from the fierce battle brewing between Chaz and Myron.
As the battle raged on, Darren began to notice something. He shook his head lightly.
"It seems like Chaz is outmatched in this one." ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
Indeed, Chaz was not fighting at his peak form since his body was still recovering from his previous
injuries. Moreover, Myron was more powerful than him.
This spurred Darren to join in the battle.
He flew over to Chaz, prepared to add his weight into the fight.
Suddenly, the sky exploded in blood red light.
The entire ground was then covered by the blade and sword intents, and the dark gold internal force.
"A sneak attack?"
Even with Darren joining in, Myron was still feeling confident over the fight. His lightning sword was
incredibly fast and could easily deflect their attacks even if they threw their blows simultaneously.
"Dark Lightning Storm!" Myron shouted.
It summoned several lightnings from the clouds. Together, they formed a vortex that churned and
disturbed the air. At first glance, it looked like the thunder punishment.
Darren and Chaz immediately felt the air thicken. It was as if an invisible pressure was pushing the
wind out of their lungs.
"Ah! This must be what he benefited from the fifth tribulation. That's why it's almost similar to the
thunder punishment."
The people from the Holy City who were safely watching the battle from afar, marveled at Myron's
swordsmanship. His ability to summon a power that was a match to the thunder punishment just
showed how great he was.
"Arvin, this is our chance to escape. Let's go," someone suggested as they watched in horror at the
scene unfolding before them.
But Arvin refused. "We can't. Myron has left some pieces of his spiritual sense in us so he can track us
down if we escape now. Do you think he'll be merciful the next time he finds us?"
And it was true. They couldn't escape Myron's wrath anymore. If they ever got hit by a sliver of Myron's
sword intent, they would immediately die.
Just then, a sweet voice rang through the air like delicate bells tinkling amid the wind.
"Why are guys hiding over there?"
Arvin and the rest couldn't help but shiver as the sing-song sound reached their ears. A feeling of joy
filled their hearts. He eagerly turned around and was greeted by a familiar face.
"Laura!"
Standing in front of them was a girl with an exotic face. It was delicate as spun glass and clear as a
crystal. Her figure was fascinating and perfectly shaped. It was impossible for a man to take his eyes
off her beauty.
The mere sight of her had almost brought everyone to tears, just like when the disciples of the Blue
Cloud City were seeing their young master.
She was their savior! They were finally saved!
"Laura! I'm so glad you're here. You see, we were tasked to find Darren Chu, but the young master of
the Blue Cloud City now wants us killed for no reason. Please uphold justice for us!" Like a child, Arvin
spilled all the details to Laura Ji with an aggrieved look on his face.
"This is the first time I've seen you cry, Arvin. Please dry your tears."
She brought her snowy hand under his chin, lifting his face up so that she could study him with interest.
Any other man would have been excited by this intimate gesture, but Arvin could only break out in cold
sweat. A few drops of them were running down his forehead under her scrutiny.
"Laura, please don't tease me. Go save Darren!" Arvin felt tears threatening to spill over his eyes. All
the disciples from the Holy City knew that nothing ever ended well if a man was this close with Laura Ji.
"Oh, Arvin. I was only kidding. Why are you so timid?" With that, she brought her hand down and
patted him on the chest. Her touch seemed tender and soft, but her strength managed to push him
away.
"Who is Darren?" she asked as she surveyed the battlefield.
"He's the one using both the sword and the blade." Arvin pointed at Darren's figure as soon as he had
recovered from his fright.
Laura Ji suddenly giggled. She covered her delicate mouth with her hands. "He is so handsome and
strong. I think I'll take him."
Arvin was struck speechless by Laura Ji's statement. He didn't know if he should consider Darren lucky
or if he should be worried about him.
"Please save him quickly," Arvin pleaded, growing more and more anxious as Darren and Chaz
showed signs of weakening under Myron's attacks.
"Don't worry, Arvin. We have all the time in the world. Why hurry?" Laura Ji only stood back and
watched the battle intently. Beside her, Arvin didn't dare utter a word.
Sometime later, the land was completely destroyed. Craters and cracks littered the ground as if they
were battle scars. They ran for kilometers around the region.
Darren's body was already covered and dripping with blood, while Chaz was in no better state either.
They were both feeling the yawning gap between their skills and their opponent's. They couldn't find a
chink in Myron's strength, and now, it was too late for them to retreat.
'I don't think I can defeat him even if I transform into a dragon, ' Darren thought to himself.
Suddenly, a loud crack snapped him out of his reverie.
Streaks of dark lightning sword intents descended from the sky. They were like black falling stars that
formed a whirlpool in the void. Each time another one fell, Myron's power intensified.
"Darren, his sword seems to be accumulating more power. I don't think we'll be able to survive his next
attack if that's the case."
There was an electrifying charge in the air as more violent dark lightning struck the ground. Chaz
couldn't help but panic.
"We have no choice. We have to face whatever comes," Darren said.
"Well, the worst thing that can happen is we die together. On the other hand, let's kill him!" With that,
Chaz gathered up all his power until he reached his limits. His halberd was divided into ten thousand
more. All of them charged towards Myron.
Meanwhile, Darren summoned his Bloody Shura Force and pounced at Myron.
"Tsk, Tsk. You guys must be out of your minds."
Myron didn't seem fazed by the incoming attack. He smiled instead, as if mocking their crazy plan.
"Dark Lightning Sword!"
There was a deafening clatter.
Thunder and lightning started to rain heavily down from the sky. All of them gathering together to
condense into a huge sword. The point of its blade was aimed at Darren and Chaz.
"Why is Myron being so unreasonable? I won't let him kill the handsome guy. He's mine."
Slowly, a wide, charming smile graced Laura Ji's lips.
