CHAPTER 1199 THE GANGSTERS' DEN
"Believers?"
Astonishment reflected in the gangsters' tone and facial expressions. ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
They knew what the young man meant when he asked them to believe in him. What confused the
thugs was that only the chief gods were qualified to have believers, and they didn't think that this young
man could be the chief god. They were also aware that the chief gods would never take a fancy to
them.
"Sir, please don't mock us," someone replied in a trembling voice.
"I will count to ten. By then, you either swear to believe in the Conflicting Chief God or your heads will
roll on the ground.
One, two, three..." Darren said coldly.
The gangsters didn't have time to think. They rushed to pledge their allegiance under the threat of
death. "I swear with my soul that I will believe in the Conflicting Chief God forever..."
Everyone swore in a minute.
"I, I have really become a believer."
"I see. The young man, he is... a Defiant Master!"
There were only two kinds of people in the world who could accept believers. The first was the nine
chief gods, and the other was the Defiant Masters.
Now that they knew Darren was a Defiant Master, they felt that their fate was even worse than death.
Belief in a Defiant Master was the most shameful thing in the world as it defiled one's soul.
But, they had no choice. And now that they had pledged, they could not regret it.
"The Power of Belief from them is insufficient." Darren saw gray smoke rise from those people. But it
was pitifully little, and not comparable to the Power of Belief provided by Kerr alone.
It seemed that the stronger the believer, the more Power of Belief he would provide. No wonder the
chief gods didn't need the lower-level people to believe.
"Hand over all your killing stones!" The men did not dare to disobey Darren's order. Soon, several
blood-red stones flew into Darren's hand.
Later, he distributed the killing stones to his companions so that they could collect killing points.
"Tell me. Where is your king? What is his level?" He was eager to find a stronger believer to enhance
his Power of Belief.
"Sir, he is in a cave eighteen kilometers from here. He is at the low-level of the Star God Realm."
Darren glanced at Lindsay and said, "It's up to you this time."
"Why are you looking at me?"
"I need you to find their king and make him my believer." With his current strength, Darren could fight
against top-level warriors of the Domain God Realm. But he was no match for someone at the Star
God Realm.
He was aware that the odds of a hundred warriors at the top-level of the Domain God Realm against
one person at the early stage of the Star God Realm were less than one percent.
"You idiot! My realm has been downgraded to below the Star God Realm. Moreover, the opponent must
have experienced many battles. How can I fight him?" Lindsay screeched at Darren. Panic coursed
through her as she thought, 'If I go seize these men's leader, I'll be courting death.'
"Beauty, be confident of your abilities. If you can't defeat him, I will help you," Darren encouraged with a
smile.
"What? What did you say?" A smile tugged at the corners of Lindsay's mouth.
"I said you should be confident."
"No, no. The other thing."
"Oh. I said beauty."
"That's it! I will help you kill him no matter what it takes!" Lindsay strode forward joyfully.
"Oh, my God! Is she so easy to coax?" Finley muttered as he turned to Darren. "Do you have a
conscience? How can you deceive yourself by calling this ugly woman a beauty?"
"Don't say that! Lindsay was poisoned, and her features were marred by the injuries she sustained. In
fact, you can remove the scar on half of her face when you look at her. You will be surprised." As
Darren had done this a long time ago, the injury on Lindsay's face was automatically concealed when
he looked at her.
This was just a little trick for Darren and the others.
When Finley heard this, he immediately gathered a trace of god's power in his eyes.
"Hi, beauty," Finley said to get her attention. Lindsay turned around at once.
Finley was dumbfounded. She was ten times more beautiful than the fairy.
"Ha-ha." Finley chuckled and drooled.
"Idiot!" Lindsay turned again, grinning from ear to ear.
Darren and the others walked through the woods till they reached the bandits' den.
"Tim Wang, step out!"
Darren had been informed that the king of these gangsters was named Tim Wang.
Boom!
A powerful force exploded from the cave. Then, hundreds of bandits flew toward Darren and the others
from all directions and surrounded them.
"Who the hell are you? How dare you behave disrespectfully in my territory?" An old hunchbacked man
flew out from the cave.
"Are you Tim Wang?" Finley scowled at him and thought, 'He is ugly.'
"Shut up! I'm the king of the jungle. Who are you? How dare you act wildly here?"
"Tim Wang, you can live if you surrender yourself to our Conflicting Chief God. Otherwise, you will die,"
Finley declared.
"Bullshit. You are an idiot if you think you can kill me! Kill him!"
Tim Wang ordered. With a wave of his hand, a dozen people at the Domain God Realm rushed toward
Finley.
As Finley had just reached the upper-level of the Primary God Realm, he couldn't defeat them.
Whoosh!
It was Darren who released his blade and sword intents. Within seconds, all of the bandits who were
rushing forward fell to the ground with broken limbs.
Tim's eyes narrowed slightly when he realized that Darren was more extraordinary than he appeared. It
was not easy to defeat ten warriors who were at the same level with only one move.
"Ha-ha-ha, good for you, young man. Since we don't have any conflict between us, we should be
friends, okay?" Impressed with Darren's power and strength, Tim Wang decided to recruit Darren as a
subordinate.
"I'm not interested in becoming your friend. You have two choices. Be my believer or die!" Darren said
coldly.
"Don't talk nonsense!" Tim's face darkened.
However, as he contemplated Darren's words, he noticed how his subordinates were standing beside
Darren. His eyes widened as understanding coursed through him.
"You are a Defiant Master!"
Tim Wang was smarter than the others. When Darren ordered him to become his believer, he
immediately recognized that the young man was a Defiant Master. After all, it was unimaginable that
the chief gods would come to this shady place.
"You are right," Darren admitted.
"Go away now, or you will die miserably." Tim Wang looked even more sullen. But his killing intent
reduced, almost as if he was afraid of Darren's identity as a Defiant Master.
"So, you mean there is no room for negotiation?" As soon as Darren finished speaking, he winked at
Lindsay, signaling her to take action.
Whoosh!
Lindsay launched her attack.
Bam, bam, bam!
A black divine whip flashed many electric sparks in the air as it crackled.
"Humph! You must wish for death!"
Tim Wang raised his hand and grabbed Lindsay's whip. Instantly, a tricky force was transmitted from
Lindsay's whip to his meridians.
Whoosh!
At this point, Darren acted as well.
He summoned his dark gold god's power, which had become stronger after he activated his level-nine
sword and blade.
Tim Wang felt threatened by this kind of attack.
However, he was not alarmed. He reached behind him with one hand, and a small round bronze tripod
emerged.
The small tripod flew out and gradually grew bigger as it drifted toward Darren.
