Chapter 1298 Fighting Maxwell (Part One)

CHAPTER 1298 FIGHTING MAXWELL (PART ONE)

Darren kept on flying at full speed. With the aid of the speed runes, he was able to go back to the

Starry Sword Sect within a day.

"How was your trip? Any good news?" As soon as Darren came out of the secret passage, Murphy

perceived his arrival and quickly went to welcome him.

"Well, it went fine," Darren answered indifferently.

"What do you mean? Were you able to successfully invite Lord Akbar? Where is he now?" Murphy

asked expectantly.

"About that, no, he can't leave that swamp. But in turn, I have here several useful things that he gave

me. Here, look at this one."

Darren took out the exquisite black armor and showed it to Murphy.

As soon as Murphy saw the armor, his eyes lit up immediately. With just a glance, he knew that this

armor was something powerful and extraordinary.

"He gave this to you?" Murphy asked while his eyes were still fixed on the armor.

"That's right. Come on, put it on. With this, you will be able to fight against Maxwell on equal terms!"

"It's that powerful?"

Without the least hesitation, Murphy grabbed the armor and excitedly put it on.

Suddenly, a strong magical force spread all over his body, causing his meridians to be enhanced by

multiple folds.

"You're right! I can feel the extreme power! I feel like I can easily take on the warriors at the upper-level

of the Celestial God Realm with this!" Murphy was overwhelmed with the powerful strength that flowed

in his body. He had never felt this strong before, causing his confidence to boost significantly.

However, after thinking carefully for a while, he told Darren, "The people we're facing this time are not

only Maxwell. If he managed to invite any powerful warrior at the top level of the Celestial God Realm,

there's a huge chance that our sect will be in huge trouble."

After all, there was still a huge gap in strength between warriors at the top level of the Celestial God

Realm and those only at the upper-level.

"Yeah, I've already thought about that. Don't worry. I have my ways to deal with it," Darren reassured

him with a faint smile.

"Fine, I believe you." Murphy had no reason to doubt Darren after the latter brought back such a

powerful weapon.

After that, Darren and Murphy went to cultivate their martial arts separately. Even the slightest

improvement would be helpful for them to deal with their future opponents. Moreover, Murphy had to

take the time to master using the armor. If everything went well, he would have better chances of

defeating the Gambling King.

Two weeks had quickly passed since the two cultivated nonstop.

The following day, the entire branch of the Starry Sword Sect was in an uproar again after the sudden

arrival of Maxwell.

Darren and Murphy quickly responded, flew out, and landed on the ground in front of the array. On the

other side, Maxwell was standing firmly together with his forces.

"I'm pleased that you two bastards came as fast as you could. It'll be easier for me to finish you off!"

Maxwell shouted from the other side of the array, exuding an intimidating and ferocious aura.

"How dare you? You're the one who barged in here in the first place and even kidnapped my daughter.

Your killing points and divine patterns should serve as your compensation," Murphy retorted with a

straight face.

"Nonsense! I will get what I want, Murphy. And what I want today are your and that bastard's heads!

You really have the guts to talk back? Can't you see these two masters beside me?!"

Maxwell pointed at the old man and the young man that were standing beside him.

Murphy had already detected the aura of the two men as soon as they showed up. Their strength was

indeed formidable and he estimated that they must be at least at the upper-level of the Celestial God

Realm.

"Yeah, of course. I can also see that you must have spent a lot of money this time," Darren said in a

subtle mocking tone, while Murphy stayed silent.

"Ha! So what? I'm willing to spend billions of killing points just to eliminate you two! And because of

these two masters with me, you have no chance of escaping alive! But don't think that I'll grant you a

swift death. I will kill you slowly that you'll beg me to just kill you already!"

Maxwell's anger was genuine. He was not just throwing empty threats. In the face of the two formidable

masters from the Blood Abyss Sect, the array that they had set up should be useless.

"Wow, you're so confident. Are you sure of what you're doing? I don't even think the two men you

brought will be capable enough to help you," Darren taunted.

"You piece of shit. You're still going to be arrogant until the end. Fine! No matter how hard you beg me

later, I won't show a hint of mercy to you!

Masters, it's time. Help me destroy this array!"

Upon hearing Maxwell's words, the two warriors started doing some gestures with their hands.

"You don't want to do that, I'm telling you!" Darren suddenly shouted.

"If I were you, I'm not going to meddle in other people's matter, or else, you're going to be in big

trouble…"

Darren glared at the two masters, and his aggressive words somehow halted their movements. They

wondered what was going on in this man's mind and where his confidence was coming from.

He should clearly understand that the old and young men were pretty powerful. At his current state, he

might not be a match to one of them. After all, they were first-class killers from the Blood Abyss Sect.

There were only a few people in the world that could even threaten them. To throw those arrogant

words at them was equivalent to begging for an immediate death.

"Well said, boy. Now, I'm more certain to let you have a good taste of the ruthlessness of the Blood

Abyss Sect!" the old man said in a disdainful tone.

"Did you not hear me, old man? I dare you to attack me, and you would be walking towards your

death!" Darren answered back with a solid conviction.

"Ha! Let's see what you're made of. I will teach you a good lesson after I destroy this damn array!" The

young man also got extremely pissed at Darren's haughtiness.

"All right, fine. Let's see what you have to say after taking a look at this!" holds text © rights.

Then, Darren quickly took and displayed a blood-red token from his Space Ring.

"Now, you two, I order you to abandon Maxwell! Or do you not treasure your lives anymore?" Darren

said with a cold flash in his eyes. It was as if he unleashed something that would make anyone bow to

him and heed his every order.

Just like what Darren expected, the two masters were greatly taken aback as they saw the token in his

hand.

"H-how?"

"Who the hell are you? Why do you possess that thing?"

Both the old and young men were astonished and even stuttered.

It was a top killer's token that everyone in their sect was dreaming of having. Once they saw this kind of

token, they had to inevitably listen to the holder's command. This was one of their most basic rules.

It all made sense now. Darren was unusually resolute because he knew that once they saw this top

killer's token, they wouldn't be able to go against him.

"Maxwell, we need to cancel our deal…"

the old man suddenly turned and said without thinking twice.

This made Maxwell utterly confused. He wanted to know what was with that blood-red token that

immediately made them change their mind. They were both powerful warriors at the upper-level of the

Celestial God Realm, but it was like they were rendered powerless in front of this token.

Furthermore, the Blood Abyss Sect was known for executing their orders for the right price. They were

not the type to cancel a deal that they had already agreed on.

But this time, it was different. They wanted to cancel the deal without any hesitation. They wanted to

back out, fully knowing that they would need to give the payment back in double.

"What are you talking about?! How could you break a promise because of some measly token?"

Maxwell asked in exasperation. He could not accept such a thing. After all, without them, he would not

be able to destroy the array. All his efforts to eliminate Darren and Murphy would be put to waste.

"That's final. If you still want to deal with them, you can go by yourself," the old man answered coldly.

Hearing this, Darren was very satisfied. It was even better than he had expected.

He originally thought that the members of the Blood Abyss Sect might still help Maxwell destroy the

array and would just avoid attacking him.

However, it turned out that the old man honored Darren's previous order to fully abandon their

commitment to Maxwell. For now, they could say that they were already safe. They just needed to wait

for reinforcements in order to fully deal with this matter.

"You useless bunch! I will sue you for breaking your commitment! Can you take responsibility for that?"

Maxwell started to threaten the members of the Blood Abyss Sect in his anger.

"Watch who you're talking to, Maxwell! Say another word and I won't hesitate to crush your head!" the

old man snapped back.

"Wait a minute. I don't agree with you either. Since we have already received his killing points, we

should accomplish the mission for him. Did you forget that he paid a billion killing points? That's already

enough for us to exchange for whatever we want. After completing this mission, we can even retire.

You should actually rethink your decision."

Suddenly, the younger killer who looked very juvenile spoke and contradicted the old man.
