CHAPTER 826 PRACTICE
It had already been half a month since Caroline sustained her injuries.
After seeing that most of her wounds were already healing, she immediately went her way to find
Darren.
All of a sudden, Caroline heard a voice calling her. "What's up, Aunt Caroline?"
"Do you know the reason why I went to the Shura Abyss by myself the other day?" Caroline asked.
"Did the senior holy warrior of the ancient times do anything?" Darren replied.
"As a matter of fact, yes." Nodding, Caroline continued, "That day, when I was cultivating, I suddenly
felt uneasy. I just couldn't stand the feeling so I went somewhere next to the Shura Abyss to have a
check. Out of the blue, I was dragged down by a strange power. I'm sure that the power was from the
ancient senior holy warrior. As I entered the area, I found that he was about to break the seal and
escape from there."
"I'm sure he'll come out in a few days,"
Caroline said as her face suddenly turned rigid. Once the senior holy warrior of the ancient times got
out of the shackles that bound him, his combat power would infinitely increase. If that happened, then it
would surely be difficult to deal with him.
"On the other hand, how's your combat skill practice going? Caroline jumped to another topic.
"Thanks for asking. Actually, I'm almost done," Darren replied happily.
"You have to strive for the best. See to it that every connection between each move must be flawless."
"Ahem, maybe it is already perfect. How about I show you what I can do. Care to practice with me,
Aunt Caroline?''
"You read my mind. That's exactly what I was thinking about." Caroline nodded as she gave a little
smirk at the corner of her lip.
"But who should we fight against? We can't fight each other." Darren scratched his head as he thought.
"Ah, no doubt. Of course, it's him." Smiling from ear to ear, Caroline looked as if she was ready to tear
her enemy to shreds.
A moment later, in the void, three figures stood still, emitting a strong murderous aura.
"You bastard! Once I rip you to pieces, you'll know how powerful I am." Caroline locked eyes with the
monkey tightly. At that moment, she still held a grudge against him for what had happened that day. This material belongs to .
"You don't have to remind me. I've learned it a long time ago." The monkey's eyes were glued to
Caroline's. In fact, his stare was so intense that it even made Caroline feel uneasy.
'You crazy monkey! How dare you!' Caroline muttered at the back of her mind, with her sharp eyes still
scowling at the enemy.
"Hit him hard, Darren! Attack him without mercy!"
Like a blaze, Caroline materialized into a flash of flame and started attacking the monkey directly,
without hesitation.
Upon recognizing Caroline's skill, Darren immediately used another move that would suit it best.
Suddenly, two figures appeared and punched the monkey heavily at the same time.
"Sizz!"
The monkey felt the punch and was enraged. As retaliation, he swung the stick that he held towards
Darren constantly.
"Hey, be careful, Darren."
However, Caroline found that both of their efforts in fighting against the monkey was not at all very
helpful. In fact, she was even more powerful when she fought the monkey alone. This might be due to
the incompatible skills that both she and Darren were using.
During this time, Darren realized that this cooperative combat skill did not only need comprehension
but also needed a lot of practice and honing.
Wanting to be better at this fight, Darren focused his spiritual sense and flashed one hundred and eight
thousand moves of fighting skill in his mind.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
Knowing where they went wrong, Caroline and Darren worked together and attacked the monkey again
with full force.
"Haha, oh, you give me no threat. You are too weak!"
The monkey's figure flashed quickly, and a shadow of a stick fell towards the two.
"Darren, do you know what skill to use next?"
"Yes, I do!"
At the same time, Darren and Caroline transformed into two rays of light. These rays fused perfectly
with each other which created a dense defense against the monkey's attacks. After all, a fight would
not be successful if all it had was offense and none of a strong defense system.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The stick shadows continued to explode as they hit the barriers, causing the space around them to
tremble.
Laughing out loud in contempt, the monkey was not to give up the fight. In a flash, his figure
disappeared, rushing towards the red light.
"It is time!" Darren was beyond thrilled upon seeing what the monkey chose as his next move! 'Once
he gets in our attack range, he will get seriously injured, ' he thought.
However, his happiness was short-lived.
Unexpectedly, the monkey's figure rushed towards Caroline and then flashed right behind him!
"Oh my God! I can't believe this! That's his shadow!" Darren thought in surprise.
Darren was overwhelmed with a stick that flashed runes, making him obsessed with breaking the sky.
Unfortunately at this point, there was no escape for Darren.
In his mind, he had no doubts that he would break into pieces as soon as the stick hit his body.
"Tweet, tweet, tweet!"
Seeing that Darren was in immense danger, Caroline let out a piercing cry and immediately stood in
front of him like a human shield.
Boom!
Caroline was sent backwards after a powerful blow. Luckily, the monkey stopped in time, because if it
hadn't, then Caroline would have been seriously injured.
"Hey, monkey! What's the problem? Why do you keep on attacking Darren? Come on, pick on
somebody your own level. You know that he is no match for you," Caroline shouted in anger.
"Honey, I know better than to pick on a hardball when facing an enemy. Of course, I will choose Darren
to fight," the monkey said with a sly smile on his wicked face.
"That's absurd."
"You don't believe me, huh? You can ask Darren yourself."
"Bah, I didn't say that. Don't put words in my mouth. What the hell did you just call me?" Caroline said
coldly.
"Do you want me to say it again, honey?" the monkey answered mockingly as he seemed satisfied with
the calling.
"Shut up right now so I can break your bones!" Without hesitation, Caroline dashed and gave the
monkey a heavy blow.
Since she didn't need to cooperate with Darren's skill now, Caroline's power grew and she beat the
monkey and sent him to fall back.
"Alas." Darren sighed, 'I need more practice. My level is still too low. If Caroline hadn't protected me,
then I wouldn't even be able to handle the aftermath of the battle.'
Daren became sad and unsatisfied as he knew that his practice did not pay off. If there was anything,
he even dragged Caroline behind.
The fight between the monkey and Caroline was fierce. Despite being at a disadvantage, the monkey
still managed to put up a good fight. Clearly, the monkey was afraid to hurt her. Darren noticed this and
gave out an odd laugh.
"I guess that the monkey actually likes Caroline..."
This cooperation between Darren and Caroline ended at that moment. Both Caroline and the monkey
still kept fighting in the void while Darren was left alone.
After returning to the island, Darren could not help but think of the fight. Recalling how he handled it,
Darren tried to figure out where he went wrong and how he could improve.
"My bad, I guess that I am too unfamiliar with the moves. When Caroline used A-Thousand-Shadow
Penetrating Heart Skill, then I should have used A-Hundred-Ghost Walking Skill. I think that it would be
the most appropriate skill to team up with hers..."
Darren checked every possible cause for his defeat. He spent several hours checking all the loopholes.
After a while, the void finally stopped shaking, and the fiery red figure fell.
"Why did you leave the battlefield, Darren?" Caroline flew down and asked.
"Well, if I was there, then I would only be disturbing you two, '' Darren said as he gave a half-smile.
"Nonsense!" Caroline shrugged the thought off, leaving a hint of shyness on her face.
"You can come out now." With Caroline's cry, the monkey slowly emerged from behind her. His face
was swollen, making his head more similar to a pig's than a monkey's.
"Now, that's how you talk nonsense." Caroline glanced at the monkey coldly. Afterwards, she said,
"Darren, let's practice tomorrow."
As her voice trailed off, Caroline left without saying more.
"Monkey, how could you be so pathetic. You are powerful! How can you be defeated so quickly?"
"Well, I don't care if I get hurt because of her. After all, I find that as long as she is happy, I will be
happy even if I am beaten. Is there anything wrong with that?" the monkey asked in a serious tone.
"Ahem, then I guess you're under her spell." Darren gave a shrewd smile and left.
"What did he say? What spell?" The monkey was confused at his words. At that point, Caroline's every
move was all over in his mind. He seemed to find everything about her so striking, that he even found
Caroline's palm dropping on his face so breathtaking.
"Darren, I want to ask you something." In the cottage, Naomi came in while Darren was drinking a
glass of good wine.
"Sure, go ahead." Darren raised his arms. Pointing at the chair, he asked Naomi to sit down.
"I think..." Naomi hesitated to say what was on her mind. In fact, she seemed to feel embarrassed.
"Oh, just say it."
"Well... Do you think Caroline might have a thing for that monkey?" Naomi found her own words
inconceivable after she asked the question.
"What!"
But before Darren could reply in full context, a big man's shadow showed up in the doorway.
"Caroline and the monkey?! How could that be?! Oh my God..." Augustine's roar shook the whole
island.
"Hush." Naomi immediately flew over to him and covered his mouth.
Meanwhile, in the distance, Caroline was sitting in the hut. Hearing the loud roar, she got angry and
was even prepared to go down and teach the boy a lesson.
But after a while, she calmed down. She could not help but feel a little scared as she recalled every
interaction she made with the monkey these days.
"Then, the damn monkey must be driven away," anxious, Caroline said to herself in a low voice.
Her body flowed with the real legendary beast blood, while the monkey's blood was complex. Thinking
about this, she was afraid that something would happen if the monkey continued to stay here.
