Chapter 946 He Survived

CHAPTER 946 HE SURVIVED

In a matter of moments, the temperature of the whole world had raised to a point where it could refine

the most powerful senior holy warrior. Darren closed his eyes and gritted his teeth, hoping that he could

use his human body and flame crystal to get him out alive, but the temperature was too high and it was

going to win.

On the inside, Darren's blood had been boiled dry. On the outside, his flesh had been eaten away and

his hair was burnt to a crisp and falling out. He looked like a charcoal skeleton. A gasping breath broke

through his cracked lips.

When the small fire saw that Darren was on the verge of death, all of the glee left him and he started to

regret his choices.

'Is it cruel to kill him like this?' he wondered.

It was known fact that the only people who were able to enter this place had to be the most talented in

the world. Perhaps Darren wasn't being arrogant, maybe the small fire was too quick to judge him. He

increased the difficulty of Darren's test just because he had thought Darren hadn't shown any respect

to him. Now, it seemed like it was not the right thing to do.

However regret was useless now. He wanted to lower the temperature, but it would take too long. Even

if the small fire was the Fire Spirit of heaven and earth, he didn't have enough skill to snap his fingers

and make it disappear.

"It's out of my hands. I hope you are lucky and if you can survive, I will give you a great gift," the small

fire murmured.

Time was passing so slowly and Darren could feel every single twinge of pain that radiated through his

mutilated body.

Feeling panicked, Darren activated the Assimilation Skill again and again, but his flame crystal was too

overworked and not upgrading fast enough to defeat the flames outside.

Doubling over, Darren inhaled and exhaled sharply. He was clearly on the brink of death.

Moments later, Darren's body disintegrated and the ashes that were left blew away.

"What a shame, he died. Even the strongest senior holy warrior would have been unable to survive the

current temperature. Besides, he was in a mortal body. He shouldn't have survived more than a

minute." The small fire sighed.

The test had come to an end and the small fire fell quiet. He had waited for tens of millions of years for

someone to enter the world and when it finally happened, the human had died from a slight error in

thought by the small fire.

The small fire suddenly felt extremely lonely in the quiet space.

"All right. I don't care that you're dead. It's time for me to collect your flame crystal."

The small fire flew over and landed on the spot where Darren had died. He began searching the area

but he couldn't see anything on the ground.

"Huh? Where is the crystal?" The small fire had never known a fire crystal to disappear along with a

body when it died. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

Yet, there was no flame crystal to find in the ashes of Darren's body.

'Is he still alive?' the small fire wondered, stopping his sifting and feeling defeated. He waited but there

was no signs of life anywhere near him.

"That's impossible," he murmured. Trying with all his might, he searched for a sign of life but once

again came up empty. However, something felt off.

In the spot where Darren had died, there was still hot steam creeping above the ground. The small fire

seemed puzzled because the temperature had been extremely close to the temperature of the Fire

Spirit himself.

"Oh, I see! His body had transformed into the True Fire Spiritual Body just seconds too late. He had

refined but he missed his chance to use it. What a pity!

But wait a minute! It doesn't make sense that his body had become the True Fire Spiritual Body. If he

had refined, he would have been able to endure the heat and he would still be alive. It's strange," the

small fire said, contemplating the absurdity of the situation.

After a few moments of thought, the small fire gave up. There was no logical explanation for it.

Before he could think anything else, many colorful light spots appeared and floated in the air. In front of

the small fire, a strange aura glimmered so he froze in place, waiting and watching.

While he watched the lights, they began to condense into a crystal.

Wisps of life auras appeared out of nowhere and a human-shaped shadow emerged from the crystal.

"What? He revived?" The small fire couldn't believe what he had witnessed. There was nothing in the

past like this, and he was pretty certain that it had never happened before.

After a long while, the small fire saw a perfect body standing before him that was shining with light.

"Oh, thank God! It's over now," Darren exclaimed, sighing.

"How-how-how did you... How did you come back to life? Did you condense into a True Fire Spiritual

Body?"

The small fire trembled in shock, shooting sparks all over. If Darren's body had become the True Fire

Spiritual Body, it meant that his body had the same origin as all the fire in the world. It meant that he

was now immune from all types of fire.

Even the small fire, who was the Fire Spirit of heaven and earth, could not refine Darren by using the

power of fire from now on. Of course, the small fire didn't care to refine Darren, he only craved

answers.

"Yep! I'm that lucky. I am alive!" Darren laughed and stood tall with his fists rested on his hips.

"Can you tell me what happened?" the small fire asked eagerly.

Ignoring the small fire, Darren took out a suit from the Space Ring and put it on. Then he took a few

deep breaths.

"It feels so comfortable here now," he replied, sighing again but happily this time.

Now that he owned the True Fire Spiritual Body, Darren felt as though he was one with the fires.

"Excuse me. You haven't answered my question yet," the small fire reminded Darren.

He glanced at it and said, "I have no obligation to tell you any details. You just need to judge whether I

have passed the first test, right?"

"You brat!" At that moment, it hit the small fire that Darren was taunting him. "Just because you've

passed doesn't mean you get to show off."

"I'm showing off? I almost died just now and it was all your fault." If the small fire had a face, it would

have turned red from the embarrassment.

Instead, he retorted, "What do you mean by that? It was all part of the test. If you can't bear it, your lack

of talent is the only thing you should blame."

"Oh, I see. Well, since I got through the test already, I will see you later. Goodbye!"

Without so much as a glance, Darren got up and flew into the distance, where there was the door that

led to the next test.

"Hey, wait! Tell me, how did you refine the True Fire Spiritual Body?" The small fire began to follow

Darren but he was too fast. However, the small fire wasn't about to give up so easily. The curiosity was

far too strong.

"I guess you'll have to keep wondering." Darren smiled.

After flying for some distance, Darren encountered several kinds of fires. Some of them flamed high

while the others were shining and others were colorful. More importantly, each one of them was more

powerful than the Fire Kylin in the Raksa Sea.

'What would happen if I assimilate them?' Darren wondered.

As he looked down at the variety of fires, his heart skipped a beat.

Now that he had passed the test, recovered his strength, and his body had condensed into the True

Fire Spiritual Body, it was safe for him to assimilate any kind of fire.

Without hesitation, Darren activated his Assimilation Skill to assimilate one fire. It was quickly under his

grasp.

He continued to assimilate until he started to feel a pure fire spiritual energy absorbing through his skin

and into the flame crystal.

"It's of no use?"

To his disappointment, it appeared that none of the fires' special powers were transferrable.

He had been hoping that he could turn the fire that he assimilated into attack skills but all he could do

was turn them into spiritual energy to replenish the energy of the flame crystal.

"Brat, what are you doing? Are you trying to assimilate these powerful fires so that you can use them in

your fight?" The small fire ran over when he saw what Darren was doing.

"It's none of your business," Darren said calmly.

"You're acting childish, still...would you make a deal with me? Tell me how you successfully condensed

your True Fire Spiritual Body, and I'll give you a big gift. How about helping you control three kinds of

godly fire from outer space? What do you think?" the small fire offered.

Darren tried not to look at the small fire too eagerly. If he could control three kinds of godly fire from

outer space, he would have more powerful means of attack.

"Deal," Darren said without hesitation.
