Chapter 1066 Back Home

CHAPTER 1066 BACK HOME

The five Crisis Stars represented the five figures who possessed the power to destroy the world. As

only one had lit up, it meant that the other four were still dormant.

Which of the five had awoken? Darren's curiosity had been piqued, and he would have liked to

question the witcher ancestor about the identity of the person represented by the Crisis Star. However,

as the witcher ancestor had left, Darren's query remained unanswered.

"Let's go back, Water Kylin!"

Darren called before he turned and flew away.

Once they returned to the continent, Darren did not seek the Sacred Palace.

"Master, where are we going?" the Water Kylin asked as he followed Darren.

"Home," Darren answered calmly.

"Are we going to visit the Chu Clan in the ordinary land?" the Water Kylin asked. His eyes widened with

surprise as Darren hadn't seen his family in a while.

"Yes. I encountered the bronze coffin in a mountain range when I was young. I want to check it," Darren

explained.

"Well, that's a good idea. Since the fiend is hiding, and the immortal can't find the bronze coffin, we

have time." The Water Kylin nodded.

They flew at their maximum speed.

Soon, they reached the edge of the Medium Spiritual World and crossed into the land that used to

belong to the Bottom Spiritual World.

The landscape immediately changed to vast green mountains, blue skies, and white clouds.

Although the Bottom Spiritual World had sparse spiritual energy, Darren felt revitalized as the air was holds text © rights.

fresh.

"By the way, when are you going to see Scott?"

The Water Kylin was still worried about Scott. He didn't know whether he would succeed or not.

"Let's discuss it later. Right now, as my strength is insufficient, I won't be of much help to him even if I

go." As Darren had something important to deal with, he couldn't focus on Scott.

"All right."

Darren and the Water Kylin glanced at the earth below them as they flew in the sky.

"That's Valmar." Darren excitedly pointed at a piece of land below.

"Master, will the Chu Clan be frightened when they learn of your strength?" The Water Kylin grinned as

he imagined the shock and astonishment Darren's family would feel.

"Ha-ha." Darren smiled faintly. "Remember to restrain your aura. I won't be happy if you scare the kids

of my clan.

By the way, since I don't visit frequently, I will need your help locating some of my old friends. As I've

been running around all these years, I haven't had the time to contact them. Now that I'm here, it would

be wonderful to get together."

Darren wondered how his old friends and the senior members who had helped him were doing after all

this time. While away, Darren had been concerned for them. But, he hadn't found the chance to make

the trip home. Since he had returned to the Bottom Spiritual World, he was eager to reconnect with

them.

"Okay. Give me their information, and I'll help you find them."

Pleased, Darren recalled the faces and auras of a few elders and friends in his mind and transferred

these details to the Water Kylin's mind.

"Oh, and don't forget to invite Hanson and Mathew!"

"Got it." The Water Kylin changed direction, released his powerful spiritual sense, and began his search

for the people Darren had told him about.

Now alone, Darren headed to Sky Maple City.

He looked like an ordinary mortal as he walked alongside the residents of the city.

The street was bustling; many people were selling food; some were serving guests; some were

chatting and drinking tea with friends.

Ordinary. Everything was ordinary.

A sense of calmness and peace descended on Darren. He couldn't remember the last time that he felt

this way.

With eyes that glimmered with excitement and a grin that lit up his face, Darren made his way toward

the Chu Clan residence.

Darren knocked at the door for a long time, but no one answered.

"Stop knocking, young man. The Chu Clan residence has long been empty."

A stooping elder waved his hand toward Darren.

"What? What happened to the Chu Clan?" Darren's heart skipped a beat as he imagined all the

horrible things that could have befallen his family during his absence.

"Who knows? The Chu Clan disappeared overnight. This house has been abandoned for more than a

hundred years." The old man shook his head and sighed, "It's said that a rare talent from the Chu Clan

went to cultivate in outer space. Perhaps he took the Chu Clan members with him so that they could

enjoy their lives."

"Got it. Thank you."

Although the old man had guessed wrong, Darren still thanked him politely.

"You're welcome. Young man, what's your relationship with the Chu Clan?"

"I'm a member of the Chu Clan. I have been cultivating away for a while now."

"Oh, I see. You are pathetic and hateful," remarked the old man.

"What do you mean?" Even though the old man's statement was hurtful, Darren smiled as he

questioned.

"You're pathetic because you don't have a home now. And you're hateful as you prefer life outside and

didn't return home often." The old man flashed Darren a cheeky grin.

"What you said makes sense."

Darren nodded as he mulled over the observation. Then, he pulled out a dozen magic herbs from his

Space Ring and handed them to the old man.

"Sir, I would like to give you a gift."

"I wouldn't dare accept it. Why are you giving me a gift for no reason at all?" The old man waved his

hands as he refused.

"These are just some herbs. You can make tea from them. You can use half a leaf for one pot of tea.

And one leaf can be soaked for a hundred years. It's a treasure!" Darren coaxed.

Intrigued, the old man took the herbs. After studying them, he brought them closer to his nose and

sniffed. "Well, they do smell great. Young man, thank you. I would love to stay and chat, but I was on

my way to see my grandson. I will take my leave now."

"Go ahead, and thank you again! Be well."

"Oh, I just remembered. You can go to the government office and ask. Maybe they know where the

Chu Clan members went."

"Okay."

After the old man left, Darren turned and walked toward the exit of the city.

"Come on! That's amazing! This is a rare treasure!"

"Oh, my God! What level of herb is it?"

Hardly had Darren left when everyone in the street began to talk about the herbs.

"Anyone who dares to covet the herbs will face dire consequences." Darren was afraid that someone

might try to rob the old man of his herbs. And so, he sent a message via his spiritual sense to everyone

to warn them.

In the Barren Wasteland

When the old man had told him that the Chu Clan had disappeared, Darren used his powerful spiritual

sense to search every living creature in Doriath.

Darren's nervousness and anxiety settled, albeit by a fraction, when he learned that the members of

the Chu Clan were inside a big cave in the Barren Wasteland.

"Stop! Who are you?"

Two young men stopped him as soon as they spotted Darren approaching the entrance of the cave.

"A member of the Chu Clan." Darren smiled as he studied the two young men. "Not bad. You are at the

middle stage of the Wonder Realm."

The two young men panicked when they realized that this stranger had sensed their cultivation base.

"Inform the grand ancestor."

A moment later, a grey-haired old man stepped out of the cave

When he saw Darren's figure, his lips trembled, and he was too stunned to speak.

"Uncle Reed." The smile on Darren's face grew as he greeted.

"You have returned!" Reed's tear-filled eyes searched Darren's face for a while. With every passing

moment, the fear that he was imagining, lessened. Finally, his voice trembled as he said, "You're really

back."

Tears spilled down his cheeks as he repeated those words.

"Uncle Reed, you're getting old." Darren was slightly sorrowful.

Reed nodded. After a brief moment of silence, he instructed, "Inform the elders that Darren has

returned."

"What? He is Darren?" The two young men were astounded.

Reed hit one of the young men on the head and said, "What did you say? Call him ancestor!"

"Ancestor? Why? He looks younger than me. Why should I call him ancestor?"

"You have no manners! Leave now!" Reed laughed.

"Come on in, Darren." Reed's face filled with joy as he stepped forward and held Darren's hand.
