Chapter 5: Unrelenting Resolve(Part 3)

A heart long ago choosing their direction, everything slipping away from them. An entity descending into the endless stream, clashing against their many challenges. A soul eternally sounding, continuously setting a new cycle.

Running along their dark road, avoiding bloody hands. Eventually meeting one, something more coming into their small world. A great mistake crushing them, their powerful resolve still existing.

Ava and Dabria soon coming upon Avalon high, the maiden hearing the shaky gates. A place in a terrible condition, dying trees everywhere. Shortly finding themselves at the front door, the young woman taking out her lock-pick. Inserting it into the object, soon hearing a clicking sound.

Pushing open the path, the two companions heading in, finding themselves in an ancient hallway. Blood staining the area, claw marks on the ground, the sharp scent in this place. Dabria thinking for a bit, a clever idea coming to her mind.

"It is creepy at night, this just means we should stick really close together." The blushing girl, grinning at this moment, happily clinging to her companion.

"If a monster pops up, I am throwing you to it first..." Ava humorously looking at her, soon breaking away.

"Why are you so cold?!" Dabria's distressing expression, her hands to her chest.

She is a persistent one, jumping at any opportunity. However, her bright personality does help in these unsettling situations.

A great weight on the maiden's shoulder, someone running after her brother. Sinking into the darkness, drowning in her sorrow. Her vision on the boy moving further away, reaching for him.

Another coming before her, that hazel girl. Extending their hand, pulling the young woman to the above the surface. Ava standing before them, watching the person fading from her sight.

The two companions moving forward, their echoing steps in the area. Ava hearing leaking from a distance, soon noticing scraping from the lockers. Her eyes to an ox on two legs, their massive structure.

Dabria uneasily stepping away, her hands to her chest. Ava extending her blade, her vision on the monster charging forward. Shortly meeting its action, hastily striking at it, cutting it into pieces. Crimson liquid soaking the floor, trailing in each direction.

Shadows surrounding the area, her attention to their crunching mouths. Spitting out bones, enemies soon lunging at her. Her moving feet, piercing a smaller one. Raising them high, flinging them at the group, the creatures hitting the ground.

The maiden dashing onward, sliding her sword along the earth. Leaping high, stabbing down into her foes. Slicing through, splitting them in two. Tightly gripping her sword, shifting her eyes to another fiend approaching her friend.

A heart enduring the madness in the darkness, keeping her eye on her path. Crushing her many challenges, refusing to remain quiet. Hurling her blade at the enemy, the girl glancing behind. Her shaking eyes, seeing the nearing fiend. Their salivating mouth, aiming their claws at her.

The weapon colliding into the monster, its loud screech. Falling back on the floor, Ava walking up to it. Standing before it, gripping her sword. Shortly twisting down at it, hearing its pain. Sliding her weapon upward, slowly doing so, soon splitting its skull in half.

"Th—thanks..." Dabria's hand to her chest.

"Just...try and stay more on alert. Remember, my movements are limited to your location. If you see an enemy, move closer to me." Ava facing in her direction.

Stolen content alert: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences.

"Right. Am I...being a burden...?" the girl holding her arm, slightly looking down.

"While I would appreciate having no limit on my movements, you are valuable to have along. Sometimes, another perspective makes the difference. In cases like this town as well, it is easier to navigate with you here." The maiden faintly smiling at her.

My words were true, just being there I have learned much. Let alone overcoming some difficult obstacles, then your familiarity with this place is too much to give up. You have helped me in many ways.

Each performing in their own way, giving benefits from their strengths. The young woman racing through the dusk, an individual saving her before. A sounding voice piercing the darkness, awakening something far within her.

Sentiments within the maiden, someone carrying these warm feelings. A person appreciating the lavender one, that pure soul in the horror.

"Is that so? I am glad. Still...the more I join you with these things, the more I want to know what is going on in this town..." Sadness from Dabria.

"I wish I can give you some answers, but I as well am at a loss. Hopefully Sera can turn up something." Ava folding her arms, stepping back a bit.

"Yeah..." The girl agreeing, slightly looking away.

Strange occurrences in a town, the young woman's mind on her experiences. A girl existing in two planes at once, revealing their true self in a dream. An individual guiding the maiden, awaiting their arrival. Ava walking along her dark path, her eyes on her brother, yet another drawing her elsewhere.

The two companions continuing onward, Ava's cold gaze instilling fear into their foes. Shortly arriving at the library, picking the lock once more. Those friends soon inside, some light from above.

This filthy place, books scattering everywhere. Crimson liquid staining the dusty carpets, tables upside down, chairs in pieces. Shelves on the ground, claw marks on the walls.

"You know, this place is actually nice at night." Dabria holding her hands behind her back.

"Ah...yeah..." Ava distantly looking away.

I just did not know how to confront this situation. If it is part of a deal with the Iconoclast, then what do I do? Maybe Sera might find out something that can answer this...

A person waiting in the shadows, their small messages at times. An individual purely shining, awaiting one from long ago. Believing in the maiden, carrying a heavy burden.

The Iconoclast, a great demon from old. An entity leaving behind many lessons, bearing witness to the path of others. The two friends carefully heading forward, soon standing in front of a desk.

An object upside down on the floor, Ava's eyes on a piece of paper beside it. The maiden kneeling to it, picking it up. Shortly standing, her eyes on an address. The young woman facing her companion, handing it to them.

"Any idea where this leads?" Ava's hand on her waist.

"This is to an orphanage on the other side of town, strange..." Dabria returning the paper to her friend.

A small clue in a terrible place, the maiden's mind on the many fragments. These pieces to her attention, each leading her along her dark route. A person enduring the terror after the setting sun, carrying her ill sentiments.

Ava shortly feeling eyes on them, soon turning from her companion. Her vision from one end to the next, extending her blade. Dabria's alarm, her hands to her chest.

"Enough hiding! Reveal yourself!" Ava commanding.

Living her life in the darkness, resisting those in her path. An individual rising to her challenges, selfishly pursuing her direction. A sister holding onto the smallest chance, trying to turn it into an actuality.

From between dimensions, the Iconoclast's eyes on a shadowy figure forming. Dabria moving back a bit, her shaking body. A monster with a circular mouth, their sharp fangs, the creature's long body and tentacle arms. The thing walking into the light, soon standing still.

"Des...de...na. Your...broth...will...nev...oun. Heh heh, some...ere...town..." Chuckling from it.

Catching its message, her brother somewhere in Inai. These little clues to her, the young woman's hasty heart. Her increasing rage, wanting to bring him back into her arms.

Many obstacles in her way, these ill sentiments inside of her. Shortly looking at her surroundings, noting the obstructions. Her attention soon behind to her friend, this risky situation on them.

The girl stepping away, watching the maiden dashing around the objects. Ava leaping high, locking onto her foe. Her sword over her other shoulder, her great fury.

Descending on her target, her rapidly attacking enemy. Heavily lashing her, hitting her afar. The young woman colliding into a table, scattering numerous pieces on the floor. Raising herself a bit, anger from her.

"You will tell me where he is!" her furious tone.

"Cou...no...answ heh heh. Not...kno..." Its creepy voice.

"This one as well has some clue...but...why though...?" Dabria's unease.
