Chapter 4: Two Souls(Part 2)

Similarities between two, their merging personalities. That knight seeing it, these warm feelings from the past. Remembering the goddess' words, having to find her answer. Her unsettling sentiments, thinking on her view.

Standing in darkness, someone else with her. That innocent one, her eyes of the sun, a life from two. The maiden walking over to the bed, shortly sitting down at the edge. Sol glancing back, her stern expression.

"If you need me, I will be here." Looking to the mage, her bright smile.

Those meaningful words to the researcher, her warming heart. Facing the other side, her eyes meeting with the knight's own.

Sitting up, that person pouring some more medicine onto a spoon. Raising it to the pure one, this individual consuming it.

An unlikely encounter on a mission, this leading to more. A confusing situation, the maiden steadily finding her answer.

These friends speaking, passing away the hours with one another. A day going by, the morning sun shining over the sea. Atlalune leaning against the railing, thinking on the past.

"I am not even sure if I should tell her. Two souls merging to make one, I never even heard of anything like it. Still, I cannot deny what I experienced..." Her distant gaze.

A mission still to her mind, a knight stepping out of the castle on a night. Pushing onward, not listening to her companion's concern. Wishing to free her from her burden, the maiden believing in her direction.

A diversion leading her back, that person dying in her arms. Her spirit finding someone in trouble, fusing her soul into the noble-woman to save her. That knight trying to make sense of it, her unsteady heart.

"Something wrong?" a soft voice to her.

Looking behind, this pure one standing there. Unaware on the events, only knowing small details. Her life with one, a new way forward for her.

Continuing with her passion, sharing the feelings of another. A great weight on the knight, keeping it within her for now. Facing the researcher, bracing back. Her foot pressing behind, the maiden taking in the flowing breeze.

"You sure you should be up? It has only been a day." Faintly smiling at her.

"The way you're behaving? I wonder if I am the one who is sick." Sol facing to her side, gripping her arms, her pleasant grin.

"Heh, just don't overdo it, we aren't out of hot water yet." Atlalune's eyes to her side.

"Alright-alright." Turning to the maiden, happily holding her hands behind her back.

Simple emotions flowing along an endless stream, two relishing in it. One trying to find her answer, remembering the message from Ishra and her companion. A life belonging to the young woman, needing to accept the reality before her.

Slowly doing so, a knight to them both. Two souls merging, becoming one. Those soon proceeding friends, eventually seating themselves in the middle of the deck, a board game in front of them.

"Lune...who is steering this ship?" Sol worryingly pressing her fingers together.

"Not to worry, I set it on autopilot to Valice two days ago." Assuring her.

If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.

"Didn't that require a password or something?" Sol's index finger to her chin.

"This wasn't the first ship I hijacked." Resting her arm over her leg.

"Normally I would say, being a criminal isn't something to be proud of. However, in this case, I cannot complain." The mage's humorless gaze on her guard.

"Glad we are on the same page!" brightly smiling, falling back on the ground, propping her arms behind her head.

Expanding her skills, needing to do so towards her goal. Seeking out a dark dragon, that beast still in her mind. An enemy constantly changing locations, a weapon from Laquel.

Her boiling blood, searching for it for years. These burning sentiments within her, the maiden still reaching after her goal. Yearning to bring meaning to her companion's end, these passionate feelings within her.

"You are seriously a bad influence." The sighing researcher.

"Eh, I cannot deny that. Though, can't say you're not having fun." Gesturing her hand to the noble-woman.

"Hehe, true." Pleasantly smiling, her hand to her cheek.

These pure emotions, two relishing in its bliss. Continuing with their game, enjoying a simple activity. Hours going by, the night sky once again upon them.

That maiden carrying the young woman on her shoulders, giving her a better view of the ocean. The light reflecting off of the water, the crimson moon shining down its gleam on the two.

"You sure you're okay with my weight?" Sol worryingly looking down at her.

"Maybe? I suppose I can lighten the burden by dangling you over the sea." Her teasing smile above.

"You better not!" the frowning mage, her hands to her chest.

"Haha, you're too easy." Atlalune sighing.

"Hmph, you can be such a jerk..." Folding her arms, her vision to her side in displeasure.

"Heh, sorry-sorry. I won't give you a heart attack anymore." The maiden's eyes ahead.

Simply proceeding, embracing this night. Two underneath the bleeding light, enjoying the view ahead of them. Some movements in the water below, fishes jumping up and diving back below. That knight listening to the young woman, hearing her many tales.

Later finding themselves below, sitting on a bed. The mage in the knight's arms, flipping through her book. Retelling her ventures from the various creatures and plants, detailing some of the more notable parts.

This warmth in the researcher's heart, enjoying the dusk with another. Those days going by, eventually arriving in Valice. A place still enduring the scars from five years prior, the life in the people's eyes gone.

Awaiting their end, enemies steadily moving in. The ship docking, two shortly stepping onto the land. Ethan confronting them, a few with him.

"A mask will not hide you, Atlalune." Folding his arms.

"I would have expected getting a few more feet before getting caught, well done." Removing her mask, her serious eyes on him.

"What now...?" Sol uneasily hiding behind her.

Expecting a problem, choosing to run into enemy territory. A chance towards her, needing to act on it. Those immediately uncovering her, her hasty heart. Carefully watching her enemies, reaching into her bag, gripping five knives between her fingers.

Coming this far, reaching after the smallest light. A way to achieve her goal, refusing to remain quiet. That man motioning his hand, signaling to stop. His eye shifting to the noble-woman, noting something strange about her.

"His majesty wishes to speak with you Atlalune." Looking to her.

"I suppose I have some words to share as well. After all of these years, I have reasonable suspicion on the person responsible for Estelle's death." Putting away her knives.

"If not you, then who?" his hand to his chin.

"Join us, and you'll learn. Though note, do not pull anything." Her sharp eyes on him, folding her arms.

Surviving those five years, holding in her sorrow. Searching for the dark dragon, her uncertainty on the individual summoning it. Trying to pin down its location, an entity constantly moving.

An unlikely individual sharing information with her, her mind on the one likely responsible. These few shortly proceeding, the maiden observing the area. Buildings in a poor state, people struggling to get by.

"I assume Laquel is close to victory." Atlalune's vision to the sky.

"They are, and without princess Estelle, there is nothing stopping them." His eyes away.

"Hah, good. The grief you all put her through will never be made right, whether this kingdom stands or falls." The knight scowling a bit.

"Her hatred runs deep for Valice, but that isn't the only thing within her..." Sol sadly gripping her arms.

"You once protected this place, are you truly willing to abandon it all? If you really are not a traitor, what happened to that knight's pride?" his stern eyes towards her.

"Do not get the wrong idea, I was Estelle's knight. Everything I did was for her, and with her gone, I have no reason to be loyal. My only concern, is finding the god that killed her, and also silencing the one who summoned them." Her calm voice.
