Bonus Scene From Lance:
Hope in the Nightmare
My eyes to the sky this unsettling night, the bleeding moon shining down its chilling light. Walking through the plains, feeling the blowing breeze. My knights behind me, these people putting their faith in me. The flowing blades of grass, trees in the distance.
Eyes looking at us from the shadows, its heavy steps soon towards us. An enormous colossus emerging out of the darkness, a beast horrifying those under me. Its sharp fangs, those straining muscles.
"How do we even deal with this thing?" a male knight stepping back in unease.
"The same way we deal with any of our other enemies. We fight together, surround, and use our environment to our advantage." My sharp eyes.
Directing my sword at the fiend, witnessing its secreting darkness. My shifting vision above, black feathers descending, blanketing the area in a dark mist. Immediately glancing to my side, seeing a maiden in gold armor dashing in, shortly standing in front of me.
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
Her noble red cape stretching down from the lower half of her back, flowing in the wind. A person filling me with hope, her warm presence in this nightmare. Walking up to her side, our vision slightly to the other, soon looking to the monster.
"Maybe fortune is with me after all, if a Valkyrie is here." My faint smile.
"Call me what you wish, but if you have the resolve to fight, then join me in this battle." Standing on her side, her sword towards the fiend.
"Don't have to tell me twice, I will do what I can." My serious vision.
A chance in our survival, this Valkyrie coming at a critical time. Maybe the gods are still looking over us, this much I will believe. My eyes on her rushing onward, crashing her blade into its claw. Her swift movements, leaping around her target. That foe's heavy assault, shaking the area.
An incredible display, feeling her warmly shining light. A person raising our resolves, a great being commanding the battlefield. Her hasty movements behind it, swiftly launching an uppercut, splashing blood along the land.
Locking onto my moment, bursting onward. My knights watching this, witnessing my resolve. Carrying their sentiments with me, running down my route. Rushing around the enemy, seeing it off-balance. Locking onto my opportunity, barraging it with a flurry of assaults. Bringing it to its knees, tossing my blade high.
The Valkyrie leaping above, kicking the hilt. Launching the weapon at our foe, plunging it into the monster's skull. Her unending frenzy, descending on it, pressing her foot into the back of the sword, pushing it deeper.
Quick revealing her own blade, crashing it into the fiend's shoulder, severing its arm, the monster's loud screech in the dusk. That entity landing from a distance, immediately charging at it.
I join her, both of us racing along our route. Our two energies in this plane, locking onto our target. My hasty feet, moving to the front. Dashing behind the foe, slashing at its legs. Its echoing pain, watching it fall forward.
The Valkyrie instantly leaping, her blade over her other shoulder. Instantly striking through it, ending this conflict. My eyes to her, watching her stand there. The lifeless body on the ground, its pitiful state.
That being looking back to me, her crimson eyes piercing into me. Her attention soon onward, watching her head on her way. This burning hope in me, a possibility existing to end this nightmare. If we do meet again, then hopefully it is under good circumstances.
