Finale: Solem et Lunam(Part 1)

Carrying this weight for years, waiting a long time for this moment. Those constantly plaguing nightmares, a failure forever to Atlalune’s mind.

Wandering in loneliness, her world in darkness. Hatred guiding her onward, her mind on a dragon constantly in the wind. An unlikely meeting on a job, encountering someone with the eyes of the sun.

This quirk individual reflecting another, her passion for her work. Proceeding as herself, shining her light into the maiden's black world. The mercenary lying on the ground, struggling with her injuries, her hateful eyes on her ex-commander.

"Atlalune, you have every right to hate me. Though, do not have false beliefs. The time we did share with each other was at least true." Facing the knight.

"True huh..." Biting her lower lip.

These swirling sentiments within the mercenary, her igniting soul. That Iconoclast watching this development, two old friends against each other. Their different positions dictating their standing, their firm stance against one another.

The entity’s eyes on the maiden, seeing her burning spirit. Flames spreading through her body, the power of the Phoenix extending from her. Sealing her injuries, restoring some energy. Atlalune rising to her feet, lowering her head.

"If it was all true...then why would you willfully throw it away?" glaring at her enemy.

"As I said, I have a job expected of me. I am just a soldier, similar to you back then." Her hand on her waist.

"I was at least a soldier that was willing to give up their life for those precious to them. You...merely casted us aside." Shaking her head in disbelief.

Each pressing on with their own values, some deeper than others. Three once together, their times with one another. Enjoying simpler events, sharing laughs and squabbles.

Heading out to places, creating irreplaceable memories. These engraving into the maiden, the knight never forgetting them. Running along her road of light, racing towards the end of this nightmare.

"What will you do if you are successful?" Rona extending her blade afar.

"I will set Laquel ablaze, and ensure it can never launch another attack again." Directing her knife at her foe.

"Is that so...? Are you willing to accept the consequences of those actions?" her sharp eyes on the maiden.

"I have already accepted my direction. Estelle's demise will truly have meaning, when all pieces are finally cleared." Atlalune gesturing her offhand.

"And what about after that? You have been driven by revenge for all these years, does it even have an end?" shaking her head in pity.

"I am merely closing up loose ends, I have a life waiting after this." Her hand to her chest.

A knight racing toward her ruin, her willingness to see her goal through to its end. An individual not stopping, feverishly pushing forward. Someone finding something within her rage, creating a different way at the end of it.

Rona thinking for a bit, noticing movements nearby. Glancing in the direction, seeing Sol helping many. This feeling to her, sensing Estelle's soul from her. Slightly looking away, not wishing to do this again.

Her devotion to her path, that woman holding forward a dark crystal. Its resonating force with Tiamat, that beast's energy flowing into her. Atlalune stepping back, witnessing the increasing pressure.

Seeing the concentrating malice, her ex-commander shortly stepping out. Her dark scales, her enormous wings. Her malefic sword, an individual taking on the god's power.

"Atlalune, I really did wish things could have gone differently. Show me how deep your devotion goes." Directing her sword at the maiden.

"It could have been. You had the power necessary to make a change, but chose our destruction. In the end, you are no better than the enemies we used to face." Swinging out her arm.

Hearts once together, relishing in a pleasant life. A small moment of it, those blissful days still to the Atlalune’s mind. Betrayal from one, a close individual setting them on a path of ruin.

These ill feelings in the night, actions leading two to the other. That maiden reaching into her bag, gripping five knives between her fingers.

Throwing them at her target ahead, her foe bursting through the attacks. Appearing in front of the mercenary, striking down with her harshly burning malefic claw.

The knight's firm guard, blocking the assault. This great force pushing her back on her feet, abyssal fire stretching tall.

"There were many hard decisions I had to make. Everything I did was in belief it would one day help end the conflict—" Rushing at her target.

Her painful choices over the years, following those orders from another. Her goal to end the eternal conflict, wars constantly plaguing a realm.

Never ending misery, despair continuously existing. Those echoing screams, living it many times. Having to stifle her sentiments on it, keeping her eye on her mission.

A soldier performing her duties, making numerous agonizing decisions. Swiftly striking with her sword, Atlalune narrowly tilting its direction with her knife, sliding under the attack. Immediately facing the other, pressing their weapons into each other.

"—Though, what would you know? All you did was stick by the princess, following whatever little task you had to do, just letting the cycle go on and on." Some disgust from Rona.

Living those simple days long ago, relishing in that bliss. Following her tasks, returning home to the princess. A cycle to her heart, two with each other in their free time. Rona adjusting her stance, rapidly striking through the maiden.

Unleashing great negativity, this concentrating in the mercenary, shortly violently releasing. Smoke filling the area, the knight crashing into some rubble by a building. Atlalune soon pushing it off, rising to her knee.

"There was much I could not do. However, I at least tried to create a small space where things could be good." The maiden standing, heavily breathing, blood streaming down the side of her face.

Rising far enough, having everything in her hands. An important person to her heart, a commander giving her this chance. Applying herself, improving her abilities over the passing time. Protecting the princess, becoming an impenetrable shield when with her.

Those precious days, wanting them again. Someone bringing her back to that time, opening a new way forward. Rona slowly moving towards the maiden, shaking her head in pity.

"You are still trying to fill a small world, when there is so much more out there. To get true joy, there must first come sorrow." Gesturing her arm to the mercenary.

"Everyone has a different view on what true joy is, mine is being content with making one person happy versus the world." Atlalune’s soft smile.

Having a life after this, her reason for coming so far. Her willingness to put a close to the past, these emotions leading her onward.

Preferring her small world, not wanting anything more. Someone taking it away, crushing it into pieces. That mercenary steadily rebuilding it, reclaiming what is within. Rona standing still, shaking her head from left to right.

"And through it all, you are willing to embrace your selfishness and be viewed as an enemy if that's what it took." Her hand on her waist.

"I have done a lot. Let money be my drive, killed gods, even attack those of Valice. All so I can bring meaning to Estelle's demise. Though, in the process, I found a new way forward." The knight stepping ahead.

Slaughtering those of Valice to escape, sinking their ships to prevent their pursuit. Eventually becoming a mercenary, accepting jobs towards her goal.

Constantly coming up empty, her guiding sentiments. Selfishly pursuing her direction, one day accepting a certain mission. This leading to an invaluable encounter, a person steadily bringing her back to those old times.

Her igniting will, slaying gods, taking their powers. Seeing a different way at the end, this warm feeling to her heart. Rona looking over to Sol aiding some people, their varying injuries.

"That person there, Estelle merged her soul with her, I can feel her." Her hand to her chest.

"Sol is her own person, and she showed me what life used to be like." Atlalune moving forward.

"How foolish, falling back into the same trap with the princess. It appears you need another wake up call." Rona facing away.
