Chapter 5: A Shining Sun(Part 4)

Tackling these feelings inside of her, trying to move past them. Another filling with life, yearning to spread her wings. That bright person, a quirky individual. Someone venturing far, loving her work, seeking out the mysteries from the past.

This touching passion, sharing it with another to her heart. A trial crushing down on the maiden, her quickly beating chest.

Lowering her head, pushing forward. Passing through a mirror, the mercenary soon before Ishra. That ice goddess, her pitiable look on the knight.

"Atlalune, a life is their own...not what you want them to be. Do you not think it is cruel to try and believe Sol is her?" her soft voice on the knight.

"I know, she is her own person...and no one else." Looking away.

"Do you really believe that is true?" the light god's voice echoing through her.

Learning the truth, two souls merging together. The personalities from both, one taking the front stage. Trying to move on, these warm feelings to her heart. Thinking on those eyes of the sun, her sad expression.

The entity in between dimensions watching, her awareness on the test. A god targeting the mercenary's psyche, attacking their emotions. Attempting to break their will, this fearsome opponent.

"How will you overcome this one, Atlalune?" folding her arms.

An individual willing to bring ruin, selfishly pursuing her route. Battling against her sentiments, her reality before her. One perishing long ago, her action saving the researcher.

The mage leading her own life, her behavior reflecting a person from the past. Passionately continuing her job, noting many occurrences in a book.

This knowledge to the mercenary, her uneasy feeling. Gripping her arms, continuing onward. Entering another mirror, the maiden standing in front of the god of lightning, Taranis.

"When I fought you, I felt the burning of your soul. Where is that now?" gesturing his arm to her.

"I..." Biting her lip, lowering herself a bit.

"Will you really cast aside what you have now, to believe Estelle is the one really there?" folding his arms.

"Who are you really risking your life for, Atlalune?" the light god's tone ringing within her.

Her spirit unable to ignite, her conflicting feelings. Thinking on their messages, her purpose for coming so far. Hatred guiding her for years, wanting to bring meaning to the princess' demise.

Her reason for surviving, taking up jobs as a mercenary. Working for the highest payer, crushing her enemies. Eventually meeting a researcher, learning about her soul fusing with another.

That knight continuing forward, her slow movements. Eventually stepping through a mirror, her presence before a double of herself. That individual with Estelle, their pleasant conversion with the other.

"Lose it all Atlalune, fall into the blackness that is your heart." That deity's calm voice on her.

The steadily growing darkness, her vision around her. Her slowly fading light, this force enveloping her. Not able to see anything, her aching heart. Falling to her knees, thinking on the past.

A nobody from the slums, making her way higher. Her encounter with a princess, an individual brightening her life. Those pleasant days, her heart wanting them again. Eventually meeting someone else, their guiding hand.

That pure one pulling her from her sorrow, bringing her back to those blissful times. Her slowly clearing mind, these strong feelings in her. Building a close relationship with the mage, cherishing the researcher.

"Maybe before, some part of me wanted to believe. Though, not anymore. I have accepted who she is, and as such, I am now her knight." Her serious eyes above.

"Then what is the point of your revenge?"

"To bring a close to this chapter, to bring meaning to my friend's demise. I will no longer fall for your trickery. I have chosen my path, and it is with someone who brightly shines like the sun."

Deciding her direction, refusing to play into this god's game. Her heart with another, that pure individual. This person to her mind, these warm sentiments to her. A faint light shining in the darkness, her vision on it.

Sol appearing before her, her hand in their direction, softly smiling at the maiden. This young woman coming to her aid, doing so many times before.

Her wide heart, bringing joy back into the knight’s life. Atlalune faintly grinning, extending her arm. Gripping her companion's hand, rising to her feet.

"Estelle is gone, but there is a new light in my life. An irreplaceable companion, someone I am grateful to have met, someone I will not fail..." Her soft voice, placing her hand on her chest.

Her true sentiments, speaking what is within. Her igniting soul, that fire burning once again. The steadily brightening area, her partner shining her light.

Erasing the darkness, revealing the god. An entity in a white robe, that deity floating from afar. The Iconoclast watching the field, her faint grin.

Someone pushing through, selfishly holding onto what is inside. Not allowing anyone to trample on her wishes, an individual living their happiest days again with another.

The maiden reaching into her bag, gripping five knives between her fingers, glaring at her enormous target.

"Nothing will stop my path." Standing on her side, her burning spirit.

"Are you really willing to go down as an enemy?" his serious eyes on her.

"If it means Sol can be free, and Estelle's death has meaning. Then it is something I am fine with." Her solemn voice.

"Very well. Come, I will bear witness to your end." Swinging out his arm.

Burning away at her soul, her firm direction. Selfishly persisting onward, her willingness to become an enemy. Trampling on her enemies, crushing the gods.

Seeking after her goal, upending others lives to free another one. These pure flowing feelings, allowing them to guide her. The maiden rushing forward, the entity expanding his arms.

Nearing her foe, many mirrors surrounding her. Her vision around her, the deity firing rays. Those energies reflecting off the objects, colliding into her. These heavy attacks, those violently exploding assaults. Smoke filling the area, the maiden binding in a prison of light in the air.

"You are exceptionally skilled. However, I will not allow you to continue to disrupt the order." His sharp eyes on her.

"I will crush your delusion, and show these burning emotions." Pulling against her restraints.

The Iconoclast's careful eyes on the battle, feeling these strong sentiments. A knight not stopping, selfishly pursuing her desires, these pure feelings swirling around her in a fiery passion.

Electricity spreading from her, tearing away at her shackles. Shredding her bindings, shortly landing on the ground. Locking onto her foe, rushing forward with sparks in her movements. Rays rapidly shooting down at her, the maiden slipping around the assaults.

Closing in on her enemy, that one expanding his arms. The spreading blackness, erasing the light from the area. Trapping her in darkness, his voice echoing through her.

"In this realm, you are at my mercy."

"No, I am only at your mercy if I fall prey to your tactics." Spreading her stance.

These sentiments within her, seeing through his game. Not playing along in it, tightly holding onto what is within. Her partner with her, emitting a faint glow. Raising her hand, her expanding light. This brightly shining sun, erasing the blackness.

Revealing the god of light, his unease at the maiden. Someone rising to her challenges, diving into the jaws of death. Folding her hand into a fist, holding it over her chest. Her increasing fire, displaying her feverish emotions.

Bursting through, manipulating time around her. Rushing around the god, hurling countless knives at him. Surrounding her target in it, his trembling gaze.

Descending below, her back facing him. Releasing the hold, those colliding assaults. Ice freezing him solid, lightning descending from above, tearing away at the deity.

Her expanding flames, enveloping the entity. That sounding Phoenix, emerging above. Expanding its wings, unleashing a gigantic inferno. These fading assaults, the god on his knee. That knight before him, her hand towards them.

"It matters not who I have to defeat to achieve my desires, this is my path." Her calm voice on him.

Burning away at her soul, revealing her heart to another. Accepting her direction, her willingness to proceed. Cherishing one, yearning to complete her original goal. Her new way forward, selfishly pursuing what is within. That maiden drawing out the deity's power, his steadily fading presence.

His strength flowing into her, soon feeling it resonating at her depths. The breaking realm, that mercenary in the mansion. Not seeing anyone in the area, her stern expression.

Running forward, ascending up the stairs. Racing down the hallway, shortly finding herself in a room. The mage by a table, that man with her. The rest sitting in a seat, shaking their heads from left to right.

"Do not touch me!" slapping away Flint's hand, stepping back.

"Why are you making this so difficult? Not even Atlalune can stand up to Helios." His hand on his waist, holding the side of his head in disbelief.

Setting a trap on the maiden, unleashing their greatest weapon. A deity able to bind his opponent, stripping away their light. A fearsome entity, her family carrying their secrets.

Not using him often, springing him at certain times. Sol's unease, her quickly beating heart. Hoping for a miracle, biting her lower lip. Her hands to her chest, tears to her eyes.

The man approaching her, her shaking body. Atlalune walking forward, those in their seats seeing her. Their trembling gaze, watching her grab Flint's shoulder. The man looking to her, his surprise to her.

"Might want to check your crystal ball again." Directing her knife at his neck.

"Lune!" Sol's brightening expression, running behind her.

"How? Just what are you?" his anger towards her.

"I am but a simple knight. Live your lives in fear, knowing full well. If you target Sol again, dead or not, I will ensure to incinerate your souls." Rendering her knee into his rib.

That man falling back on the ground, holding his side in pain. His shaking vision on her, this person standing over him. Slightly shifting her gaze to the rest, none speaking, their trembling hearts. An individual returning from an unlikely situation, displaying her reputation.

Those knowing about her, a person able to turn the slimmest chance into an actuality. Not believing it, the maiden proving it. Glancing back to her companion, pressing her index finger to her chin.

"Mind if I try something?"

"Okay...?" Sol's hand to her chest, slightly tilting her head.

Learning about her partner's troubles, not wishing to fail another in her life. Cherishing this individual, someone bringing her back to her happiest times. Her gratefulness to the noble-woman, standing as their shield.

The maiden unleashing her soul, burning away at her foes. These sentiments in her, her quickly beating chest. Walking up to her companion, sweeping them off their feet. This surprising action, the mercenary heading onward with this person in her arms.

"You have no shame, do you?" the mage brightly smiling at her.

"Nope." Returning a similar grin to them.

If there is one thing this trial did, was made me finally move on. I have someone else in my life, and I do not plan to repeat those mistakes I made. I will burn away at my soul, and I will continue to do so to keep her safe...
