Chapter 7: Those Who Must Sin(Part 1)

Distantness in those times of joy, years of living through despair. Two of closeness, companions drifting apart. One from ever so high, the other walking the earth. Even so, a bond forming between them. Hearts uniting, venturing through the vast worlds. A smile bright upon the face of a devil, a deity doing everything he can. No matter so, one unable to leave his shell, words never reaching the other. That young woman resting her vision upon the dark cloudy sky, those crimson eyes witnessing rain pouring down onto the field. That god looking away, beating unsettling inside of his chest, well in awareness on her experiences within the Tower of Time. That demon slowly inhaling and exhaling, her vision in the direction of Valor. That deity turning his attention towards her, those eyes of crimson and azure meeting with one another. Hearts throbbing within their chests, trouble revealing on the face of the god. That gaze grabbing at him, one possessing answers from so long ago.

"You certainly know how to invite a girl to a party." She places her hand upon her waist.

Rain hitting against their skins, cold the surroundings are feeling. Thick the air is, hearts at an unrest. Those words enlightening upon him, a faint smile coming to his face. Memories may be gone, but her personality remaining in place. Even if it is for a single moment, a heart embracing in these smaller experiences. One once filling with love for the worlds, despair consuming her. Hatred at her depths, her smile going away. That deity still trying to figure out the meaning from a certain event, for a second, an old friend truly expressing such happiness.

"Well, what can I say? I have never been good with reunions." He turns from her, shrugging.

Hearts at a rest, blissful these feelings are. That young woman gazing up at the sky, a faint smile revealing upon her. Those many emotions flowing through her, familiar they are to her. Memories belonging to another, those experiences gripping at her. Pleasureful they are, times once of so much joy. A night most painful, two friends walking away from the other. Words never reaching one another, souls drifting apart. Different that deity is from the one now, questions weighing on the mind of the maiden. Maria wishing for answers, a god becoming a murderer.

"Next time, at least consider a roof." Folding her arms.

"Haha, will do." He laughs.

Countless years passing, a normal conversation like a dream. Slightly looking away, thinking for a moment. Even if it is for a second, it may be possible to achieve what he is desiring. Facing in the direction of the maiden, sitting down on the ground. That young woman resting her vision upon him, lowering her hands to her side. Peculiar his actions are, that one filling with so many mysteries. Valor moving his hand over the ground from left to right, a chessboard materializing. That devil fixating her eyes on the game, confusion expressing from her. Feelings from days so long ago, that deity wishing for another chance. Turning his attention towards her, motioning his arm over, brightly smiling at the maiden.

"Come, join me for a game." He urges.

"I am here to put an end to the past, not to play a game." She places her hand upon her waist.

"I am aware, but it won't hurt for one game." He slightly looks away, faintly smiling.

Resting her eyes upon him, conflicting emotions clashing deep inside of her. One from so long ago, that side revealing within her presence. Familiar this experience is, her heart unable to hold rage. Those memories from below, two differing images, a connecting point between them. Her own past, that young woman desiring to know of the reason for betraying the trust of her mother. Little sense it is making, questions stabbing at her mind. Emotions stirring within her, painful these feelings are, yet blissful at the same time. Her vision slightly lightening, that maiden looking away.

Answers residing in days of the past, one holding what she is desiring. A heart at an unrest, emotions flowing from within. One trying to maintain her reason, this rage inside of her slowly calming. Turning her vision to the deity, walking over to him. That maiden approaching by the moment, Valor thinking on his next action. That devil taking a seat across from the god, her vision on the chessboard. Two sitting underneath the pouring rain, a simple game in place. That demon resting her eyes on him, seeing that deity focusing his attention down on the game, a faint smile expressing from him. Her expression lightening even more, that young woman looking away.

"You came here for answers." Valor moving a pawn piece forward.

"You seriously do not remember...do you?" his voice expressing despair.

"A True Devil's Battle, that is the only way to reach you. Please, remember..." His eyes of painfulness.

"Enough, answer me, why did you kill my mother and father?" she questions in a sorrowful tone.

"Is that what you truly believe...?" Valor looking away from her.

Agonizing this is, that deity desperately trying. His heart in so much pain, his hand hesitating in raising a weapon to her. A smile of brightness inside of the past, feelings growing over the many years. Words never leaving two, companions drifting apart. Tragedy striking on a certain day, a god secluding himself within the shadows. From high in the sky, Victor floating, that angel looking down at the field. Folding his arms, bearing witness to this event.

"Your blade coated in blood, my mother in your arms. My father not too far, there was no one else. I do not understand, how someone like yourself...turned into a murderer." Maria slightly glaring at him.

"Is this your decision?" he slowly unsheathes his blade.

Those emotions boiling inside of her once again, hatred clawing its way to the surface. Those words reaching her ears, a heart in so much pain. Questions weighing on her mind, answers not residing there. Cold the wind is upon them, Victor carefully watching the battlefield. Rain continuously pouring down, a confrontation after a thousand years. Power may be vastly different, no matter so, that devil continuing onward. To bury the past, one wishing to move on. Agony over so much time, countless jobs searching for a single entity, that time coming at hand.

Two confronting on the battlefield, feelings slowly connecting.

"Very well...I probably deserve it if I do perish...sorry..." His eyes of regret.

"Why is his posture different...?" she wonders.

Emotions riding in the wind, unrestful hearts. A raindrop falling to the line of sight, Valor striking at the maiden with his blade. Maria steadying herself, a vertical stance blocking the attack. A shockwave tearing through the area, that maiden looking into his eyes. Anger lessening inside of her, two conflicting times striking deep within her. Emotions clashing, events unfolding, none making any sense to her. Feelings of distant days, memories belonging to another. Those events so long ago, that sight never leaving the demon.

"What did my mother and father ever do to you?" she questions, slightly raising her voice.

"Both meant a lot to me. Though...if there is one thing I do regret...it's what happened the night I lost her for good..." He marginally looks away.

"Lost her for good?" she pulls back, Valor doing the same.

"Heh, tell me, how much do you really remember about your childhood?" he gently looks into her eyes.

Tenderness of his words, that young woman at a loss. A childhood so long ago, memories of the past. Discrepancies existing in those times, that maiden wishing for light upon it. Those events unfolding differently than she may expect, contradicting what she is knowing. Even so, feelings deep inside of her, days of joy within the past. That girl following her mother in secret, eventually stumbling upon a horrifying sight. That deity taking a step back, dashing away from her. Maria revealing a revolver in her offhand, taking aim, firing at him. That deity touching down, aiming his katana to the ground, wildly sweeping the bullets in a circular motioning.

Water splashing high into the air, those eyes of his at an unrest. Resting his vision upon her, redirecting the assault right back at the young woman. A trail of ice freezing its path towards the maiden, that attack approaching at twice the initial force. Trailing her surroundings, witnessing the land freezing over. Small rubble flying into the air, passing her line of sight. That devil fixating her vision upon the deity, those hearts feverishly clashing.

"You have gotten much stronger in such a short amount of time. I should not have expected anything less, you were always...rising to the challenge..." He faintly smiles at her.

One continuously rising to the challenge, no matter the feat at hand. Even if the chances are minuscule at best, that person forever taking hold of the smallest of possibilities. Nothing making sense to that young woman, those feelings inside of her. The Tower of Time bringing familiarity to her awareness. Events long ago locking away, emotions clawing its way to the surface. These feelings she is experiencing, visions from earlier. Memories of another, but also very close. A soul shackling down, a heart wishing for answers.

"You speak as if you know me, but is that really the case?" she balances her blade upon her shoulder.

"I know you used to always adore playing that flute." He turns from her, looking up into the dark cloudy sky.

One from ever so high, another walking the land below. A flute uniting an unlikely two, but that experience forever holding dear. Pain gripping at the soul, a heart wishing for days so long ago. His words meeting her awareness, those eyes of the young woman slightly widening. A deity having insight into her life, an instrument of the distant past. Knowledge belonging to none other than herself, uneasiness growing inside of her. Her heart at an unrest, emotions slowly rising higher. Hatred boiling at her core, those eyes desiring clarification.

"You...were not there...! How would you know?!" she demands.

"Your memories...mixed with that of another...the end result...your very spirit being broken." He faces the maiden, looking directly into her eyes.

"My spirit...? What are you even saying?!" Her heart desperately pounding.

"A daughter who wanders into the forbidden Tower of Time, a mother's spirit that desperately tries to save her daughter..." He hangs his head low.

Words resonating deep inside of her, that heart of hers thumping within her chest. That cold rain stabbing down at her, heaviness of the air. Holding the side of her head, pain striking deep inside of her. Emotions of familiarity overflowing, fear hastily building from her depths. Unrest within her eyes, those events of the past. Those memories inside of the Tower of Time, a child following her mother into a forbidden place, that person trying to save her daughter. These feelings clawing away at the devil, pain expressing from her vision. Slowly stepping away, that young woman trying to rationalize the situation at hand.

"You...you are lying...!" she shakes her head in refusal.

That mother in the arms of the deity, a father not too far. A child stumbling onto a horrific sight, words between two so long ago. Feelings of a distant time, a bond of dearness. Confusing it is, fear slowly showing on her surface. An opportunity coming at hand, that deity's heart wildly pounding inside of his chest. Diving into the deepest of abyss, reaching his hand out. One walking alone, sadness so deep. A smile going away, torment existing for countless hours. A risk it may be, but that god reaching his hand out once more, descending to the land. A moment of the past, regretting letting go, that event leading to such much conflict.

"What do you truly remember about your past?" he gently questions.

His words sinking deeper, that deity trying to reach someone ever so far. Endless the distance is seeming, his heart refusing to give in. One from times of yore, emotions inside of a lock. Words never reaching another, despair setting in. Those words ringing through the young woman, her vision resting on her blade, witnessing her hand trembling. Pain inside of her eyes, fear becoming clear, memories of inconsistency. Sorrowful events within days so long ago, one fleeing from such times. A heart breaking its bondage, a soul soaring once more. Even if it shall mean a sorrowful parting, that freedom bringing pleasure.

All of this...these emotions...these memories...

Emotions deep inside, feelings flowing to the surface. Fear gripping at her heart, these unsettling events. Shaking her head from left to right, refusing to believe the god. Sorrowfulness of Valor's eyes, that young woman glaring into his own. Reaching further into the abyss, diving deeper. One desperately trying, desiring for a certain person of the distant past. Victor resting his vision upon the situation, his eyes slightly more of seriousness. A devil and deity holding experiences of times of yore, both in bondage.

"You are simply trying to confuse me!" she angrily states.

"Please, try and remember!" he pleads, dashing towards her.

That young woman extending her blade, those eyes of uncertainty. Hearts in bondage, feelings reaching one another. Their weapons clashing against the other, resolves rising to the challenge at hand. Those sorrowful azure eyes meeting her painful crimson own, one trying to reach, sinking further into the endless abyss. That one from so long ago walking in the depths of despair, her sorrowful vision. Darkness for numerous years, that smile of sincerity going away.
