Halloween Special(4): Sinful Melody(Part 4)

I stand in the secret night, my soul unable to move on. Constantly searching for you, wishing to be with you again. If only I could make things right, I would be there for you, and die alongside you. So tell me, please tell me, was our meeting a curse or a blessing?

A heart wishing to be with another, eternally wandering in the darkness. Her world without light, those silent tears in the abyss. A mistake long ago grabbing at her, her desire to make it right. A person never moving on, these forever branding emotions.

A crimson moon bringing two together, a chance encounter shaping their way forward in the blissful dusk. The few making their way through the monsters, spilling blood everywhere. Each feeling the woman's heart, those many sentiments crushing down on them.

Eventually arriving in a room, their eyes on the shifting area. The bright sun shining down, the woman and man before the other outside. Her furious vision on him, the man trying to calm her.

"I know how you feel about this, I don't want to go out there too. Though, this is our home, we built our lives here, and I would like to protect it." Holding her hands.

"Land is just land! We can always build a new life elsewhere! This war has nothing to do with you! Nothing to do with us!" tears in her eyes.

"You're right, I won't deny this. Though, every time I walk outside here, I always remember how we met. I don't want to give that up..." The man embracing her.

A war on them, many heading out, fighting against the threat before them. The woman's great frustration, pushing him away. Turning from him, gripping her arms. Her attention on the severity, an almost non existent chance to return.

"Is that it then...? Were you just playing with my heart this whole time...?" biting her lower lip.

"No, never! Look, I promise, I'll come back. Let's talk about this then, okay? Will you at least trust in me?" his low mood.

"Cain, you know I look at probabilities realistically! If you are going to go out there, then go, I won't stop you anymore." The woman walking off.

"Elisa!" the man extending his hand to her.

Eternally branding feelings, two hearts wishing to be with the other. A war tearing them away from one another, words in one's fury. The steadily shifting scene, fire raging everywhere.

Explosions sounding in the distance, many losing their lives. The man's great desperation, fighting his way through. Confronting a general, blood streaming down Cain's body.

"Just a bit more...just a bit more and I can return." His heavy breathing.

"You're a fricking monster..." The general uneasily stepping away.

A man slaying many in his path, keeping one in his mind. His desire to return to her, carefully planning out his points of attack. This opportunity to him, lunging forward.

Striking at the general, cutting through them. Blood spilling along the ruinous field, an orb flying into the air. The harshly flashing light, a great black dragon emerging out of it.

"My body can't handle much more..." Falling to his knee, his hand touching down.

Losing all of his men, each putting their hopes and dreams in his hands. Their joyful laughs in his mind, everyone doing their best to aid him. The man's eyes on the descending dragon, watching the beast touching down on the land.

Shakily rising to his feet, directing his gun at it. Pulling the trigger, nothing happening. Scowling a bit, soon tossing aside the weapon. Aiming his sword onward, his racing mind.

"I'll be damned if I am to die now of all times!" Cain rushing forward.

A war close to its end, someone pushing himself to the brink. His screaming body, the pain surging through him. Refusing to fall, using every tool at his disposal.

Cain eventually cutting down the dragon, lying on his back on the ground. Blood everywhere, his slowing breaths.

"I was...so close. Elisa, sorry. I really did try my best...but, maybe..." Weakly raising his sword to the air.

A desperate soul yearning to fulfill what is within, his mind on their meeting long ago. Two building their lives together, relishing in the presence of one another.

His quickly fading life, betting everything on a last gamble. A white energy flowing around him, the white pentagram spanning far.

"In my dying breath, let my soul go free, and fulfill its deepest wish. I grant this miracle to open a new possibility...!"

Their spilling energy, wrapping the area in their gentle light. The soon fading memory, everyone's grim expression. Shortly seeing Cain walk up to them, his presence before the devil.

"I did my best for her, for my friends who all died in that pointless war. In my final breath, I desperately wished to return to her, so here I am as a spirit. However, I cannot reach Elisa on my own. Please, will you help me?" his pleading eyes to the young woman.

"It is why we sought you out, I believe she has waited long enough." Cyra slightly smiling at him.

"Yeah, but she did kill a lot of people over the years." Atlalune folding her arms.

"I know no words can ever make that right, and I will not make excuses for that. No matter, if we can return her back to normal, then that will be a few less deaths in this world." His fist to his chest.

"I agree there, and that is good enough for me." Ava gesturing her hand onward.

"I can understand her pain, and the sooner we get her back to how she was, the sooner these problems can come to an end." Dabria's hand to her chest.

"Right, come on, let's go get her back." Sol brightly smiling, happily swaying from left to right.

"Hey bud, why can't we ever have a normal Halloween?" Valor looking down at the iguana.

The animal shrugging at him, shortly sighing in dismay. Laughter soon filling the room, these individuals coming to the man's aid, someone grateful to them.

A person trying for years, never giving in. His desire to bring back a precious one, his mind on their meeting long ago. The group soon continuing, making their way down the hallway.

"I never meant to harm her, but I wanted to protect our home, this place..." Cain's sad voice.

"I know what you mean, but land is just land. A once in a lifetime opportunity is just that, you might never get the chance again." Cyra's hand to her chest, glancing to him.

"I am aware, I was foolish. If I could go back, I'd have fled this country with her, and we'd have built a new life together." His vision a bit to his side.

"What is in the past, is in the past. Let's focus on the now, and you can begin anew." Elina pleasantly smiling at him.

"You're right." His bright grin to her.

The eternally branding past, these never fading sentiments. Each tackling their challenges, embracing their way. Pushing onward towards tomorrow, refusing to remain in silence.

The man keeping his vision on his path, seeing the light at the end of this nightmare. Those companions soon coming across a door, feeling Elisa on the other side.
