One once standing at the top, acting from the shadows. Pulling the strings of others, dictating their paths. His direction in going forward, wanting to stop an endless conflict. Sentiments leading him onward, a pattern of actions. Sullying their ideals, turning friends and allies against one another. Spinning a narrative, that young woman an enemy to countless. His powerful influence, those still believing in the church. A steadily fading power, uncertainty on the time. Two away from sadness, relishing in their new life, happiness in their way.
"You know, that professor Lloyd. I think he might have a thing for you, Isa." The smiling woman.
"What a shame, she is already taken." That hazel one joyously looping her arm around her companion's own.
"Haha, I had a feeling." That woman placing bags in front of them.
These two before the young woman, their nice souls. Shaking her head in disbelief, a normal topic. Pleasantness in it, vastness of life. Infinite in possibilities, each commanding their own way. Their small place, living in fulfillment. Interacting with others, joy to the heart. Guiding feelings, these leading two onward. Their days in this town, similarity to another. Picking up those bags, heading off. This flowing breeze, birds flying along. Smaller animals scurrying about, some in alarm. Partners coming upon an open area, a man approaching them. Setting down the bags, their attention on the person. His brown hair, glasses on him. His ashen eyes, a white suit on him.
"Professor Lloyd, why are you here?" Elina curiously pressing her index finger to her cheek.
"For one reason only, to ask Isa to be my field assistant." Firmness from him, his hands to his chest.
"Never going to happen." Folding her arms.
"Gyah...!!" pulling away, this deep blow.
An individual taking to her, one bringing down the church. A former human now a demon, this fascinating him. A certain charm to her, wishing to know more. Rejecting his advancements, this heavy hit. One not bending, her clear tone. Friends of them, these plain occurrences. Waves riding along, moving onward. Intersecting paths, forming bonds. Differences of others, niceness in this. The colorful worlds, many connecting hearts. Elina moving close, looping her arm around Isa's own. That professor observing the action, holding the back of his head.
"Don't tell me..." Stepping away a bit.
"Indeed." That demon faintly smiling.
"Sorry for not making this clear, so how is your day going?" Elina mildly grinning.
Disappointment in this, wanting something more. His efforts in going far, wondering on the reason. This answering his question, a surprising outcome. Not minding, friends of them. Enjoying his time with them, two providing valuable directions. Proceeding in his research, targeting occurrences. Danger at times, his displaying passion. Presenting his findings, those increasing his funding. One able to live an amazing life, this town providing much. Lowering his hand, pushing up his glasses with the other, these two always offering an ear.
"There has been a decline in demons attacking for nearly a year. The thing is, this has been happening in specific places at times, such as this town. So, I got the funding to investigate it."
"Ah yes, during our jobs, I have noticed that as well." Elina's offhand behind her back.
"It is likely a powerful influence has stemmed their actions." Isa slightly looking away.

"That is what I thought as well, but the trick is finding whoever or whatever is doing it." That professor positioning his arms in a thinking posture.
Two keeping quiet, answers with them. Problematic of it going out, that devil ruling over the night. Commanding fiends in the shadows, those not targeting an innocent one. Setting boundaries, few ignoring it. An end coming to them, firmness from the young woman. Not allowing in this defiance, her grand influence. Embracing her imperfections, selfishness guiding her. Becoming corruption itself, creatures noting her presence, numerous fearing her. Listening to the professor, his excitement in this. Offering little, shortly allowing him on his way. Lifting the bags from the ground, those companions continuing onward, their day ahead of them.
"Will you ever tell him?" the hazel individual glancing to the demon.
"It will be too much of a hassle if I do." Her soft smile to her partner.
Information to themselves, not wishing for interference. Their hard efforts, wanting to live in peace. An entity granting this onto them, a reward for their troubles. Difficulties no less, separating once more. A temporary decision, working together from afar. This paining them, desiring for the other. Danger with each other, fiends lurking after the setting sun. Needing money, two reuniting on a night. A venture at an end, once more in the arms of one another. Not parting again, living this simple life. Shortly taking a rest, those companions sitting at a table outside a restaurant. A plate of food in front of Elina, that maiden sipping on some tea. The late afternoon, both enjoying this day.
"Do you ever miss the feeling of hunger?" that hazel one curiously questions.
"It does feel like I am missing out on something. Now it is just for enjoyment, that is all." Her attention to the sky.
Changing her body, becoming a demon. Fineness with it, wanting happiness for the innocent one. Not allowing her to be a tool, feverishly resisting the reason of others. Persisting in her path, shouting her soul. Tormenting agony, not wanting to fail. A hindrance in hunger, not needing it. Essentialness in proceeding, never stopping. Strategizing, bringing down her foes. Enduring harshness on her body, malevolence repairing her injuries. Becoming the night itself, protecting this pure individual. That hazel one thinking, smiling at her partner.
"I suppose this just means you can try everything I make, helping me discover new recipes." Joyously pressing her fingers together.
Her poor words, that one finding something of worth within it. Her hobby in crafting food, those frightening results. The devil avoiding some, unable to do so for others. This chilling situation, one able to consume anything. Creating an opportunity for another, that young woman's quickly beating heart. Nonstop cooking, this nightmarish actuality. Not able to tell her the truth, enduring the torture. Thinking of positives, experience leading to betterment. This not settling her, watching her companion indulging herself in her meal.
Eventually resuming their day, that maiden shivering at the possibilities. Sundown upon them, both walking through the park. Trees lining the corners, a road stretching far. That darkening day, night setting in, two sitting on a bench. This quiet area, a playground not far from their location. Bags at their sides, relishing in this evening. The innocent one bracing against her partner, holding onto her arm. Both gazing at the bleeding moon, that object shining down its light. This wonderful time, spending it with the other. Not working this day, embracing in this freedom.
"We have some time coming up, where should we go on vacation?" Elina glancing to her.
"Maybe a resort? Could be a fun experience." Faintly smiling at her.
"Oh yes! And I can get new ideas for recipes too!" excitement from the hazel one, happily pressing against the devil.
Not thinking this through, resorts having their attractions. Food no less one of them, that pure one with her. Constantly searching for ideas, keeping her findings in a book. Recipes in her possession, experimenting with it. This chilling dilemma, not wanting more ammunition. Attempting to change their destination, her partner not budging on it. Desiring to go to a resort, the sighing young woman. A terrible suggestion, those azure eyes on her. Brightness from this pure one, accepting it. Faintly smiling at her, hearts connecting with the other.
There are some...interesting challenges these days. No matter, it is fine. This life we now share, I would not trade it for anything. I am the night, and as such...I will continue to keep her safe. So that she can smile, and enjoy her life. This is our path, one with infinite possibilities...
