Looking on now, seeing you enjoy your simple days. It enrages me, knowing what you took from me...
Days long ago, a young Aswald around the age of sixteen in a village. These hard working people, their bright smiles and bickering alike underneath the warm sun. The teenager standing by a gate in casuals, seeing pigs on the other end.
"Aswald, you promised you'd take me out to the cape today." A girl's angry voice.
"Don't worry, I haven't forgotten." Facing her, his hand behind his head.
Simple days like these I used to love. I was a demon accepted into a small village, they were everything to me. I did everything I could for them, especially for her...
A home firmly in his heart, appreciating these kind souls. The girl in a brown dress running up to his side, grabbing his hand, soon pulling him onward.
"Come on! Before it gets dark!" her bright smile to him.
"Okay-okay!" the person trying to keep pace with her.
A small place bringing more into his world, giving him a home to belong. The demon's gentle life in a lively village, his wish to continue to dream in it. The two soon passing by a shop, a woman waving at them.
"Off as usual you two? Well, while you're out there, mind bringing back some boar meat?" the shopkeeper smiling at them.
"You got it!" Aswald waving at them with a grin.
Everyday was like this. I might not have been related to them by blood, but they were my family...
The two friends making their way out the back, soon heading into the woods. Both crossing a wood bridge, their eyes on the flowing river at their sides. The calm area around them, some smaller animal running around.

"Hey Aswald, this is a pretty small village. Are you sure about wanting to stay here?" the girl's hand to her chest.
"Yeah, I'd rather be here than anywhere else Rin." the devil's slight smile to her.
"Don't you ever dream big? I know I can never leave here, but what about the cities? Don't you want to see them?" her sad blue eyes to him.
"Maybe a bit." His attention away from her, scratching his cheek with his finger.
If only we were fast enough...
The sun slowly going down, Aswald striking down boar after boar. Shortly packaging their meat into a large sack. The teenager wiping the sweat from his forehead, exhaling a bit.
"Jeez, I never understood why hunting these things are tiring compared to anything else." Aswald's hand behind his head.
"You use too much energy chasing after them. Try focusing on trapping, rather than brute force." Rin smiling at him, running her hand through her long blonde hair.
"Noted. Anyway, let's head to the cape now." His hand on his waist, grinning back at her.
"Good, about time." The girl's hands behind her back, smiling at him.
We would walk through those woods whenever we can, enjoying the presence of the other. From a young age we were close, almost inseparable really.
The two friends soon finding themselves in an open field, feeling the breeze from the ocean not far. Both walking forward, eventually standing at the edge. Their eyes on the waves splashing on the wall, seeing small birds flying along.
"Without you here, this place might have been unbearable." The girl gripping her arms, looking away.
"Ah right, the villagers are more strict on what is expected of you. Don't worry though, as long as I am around, I'll set them straight." Aswald's hand on her shoulder.
"Yes, if not for you, I'd have likely taken my chances with the wolves in the forest." Rin slightly looking to him.
The teenager's attention a bit away, his mind on her life in the village. Their unreasonable demands to her, imposing their will on her. The demon keeping on alert, defending her from their demands.
"Then...how about we leave this place together?" his eyes to her.
"But...I thought you loved it here." Her surprise to him.
"I do, but if you're not happy here, that will eventually fade for me as well. I think in the long term, it is best for us both." Aswald holding her hand.
"Then we should prepare, but silently leave when everything is ready. They'll try to stop us, you know this." Rin turning to him, her bright smile at him.
"Heh, yeah, we'll return one day to apologize on a visit." Returning a similar grin to her.
On that day, we decided we would go to the city and start a new life together. The village was kind to me, but it would not have sit right if she continued to live in a place she disliked. It was a choice I wanted to see made into a reality.
