Eternally flowing memories, two once together long ago, both eventually going their own way. One remaining in a hellish world, fighting it to the brink. A man tearing away each day, enduring the loss of his pride. Betting on an old friend, a god shining light onto their path.
A black rift forming in the space, Valor soon stepping out of it. The closing portal, this ruinous area. Ashes everywhere, the dying land. Bodies scattering everywhere, machines in pieces on the earth. The slowly setting sun, the coldly blowing air.
"What in the hell happened here...?" the deity cautiously looking at his surroundings.
"Over here!" a voice sounding from nearby.
The deity turning to the direction, seeing his old friend behind a large object. The person waving at the god, gesturing for him to come over. Valor's quickly moving feet, soon hastily slipping behind the object.
"It is good to see you alive, but how? It has been many years." Valor patting his friend's shoulders.
"Heh, good to see you again and in good health. I'll explain soon, follow me." Elec pointing to a nearby underground hatch.
A person living each day, doing his best towards his wish. Constantly fighting against his enemies, moving towards a small bit of hope. The two making their way to a metal cover, many leaves covering it.
Elec pulling open the path, directing his finger below. Those friends descending the path, soon finding themselves sitting by a fire in a tunnel.
"Funny how we find ourselves in these sort of places." Valor smiling at him.
"Haha yeah. Sorry about that, things aren't good here." The man scratching the back of his head.
"I can see that. So, how are you still alive? I'm a god, but you're not similar to a spirit." The deity's hand to his chin.
"I made a deal with a goddess. Though, it is not absolute immortality, I can still be killed. In return though, I have to find a way to stop Tyrant Xea from destroying this world." Resting his hand on his leg.
"Tyrant Xea?" the god's hand to his chin.
"Yeah. Shortly after you left, he came, and I've been fighting a practically losing war. I can stall, but I am out of time on that." Looking down a bit.
"Sorry, I didn't know..." The deity's sad vision to his side.
One fighting alone, watching his world fall into ruin. A person still holding onto their dream, thinking on the setting sun, the promise between two old friends. Elec scratching the back of his head, soon looking to the deity.
"Why didn't you come back?" the man biting his lower lip.
"No words can make it right. Shortly after Ragnärok, I met someone and fell in love. Things were good for a bit, but then our lives fell apart. And for a long time, I was lost. Then more conflicts broke out, it was one mess after the next..." The god's hand behind his head.
"I see, looks like you had it rough yourself." Elec sighing.
"We both had it hard. Anyway, what more can you tell me about Xea and our options?" Valor's hand to his chin.
"Xea is supposed to be on the level of the Iconoclast, and I am running out of time stalling him. However, if we can get the artifact in the Heaven's Ruin to the east of here, then this war can finally stop." The man gesturing to his friend.
"So not much further to go, I'll be here to get us through this." The deity folding his arms.
"Thanks. I am low on supplies, and the place is heavily guarded. I kinda expended a lot of resources trying to find the Destruction Gem." Scratching the back of his head.
Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
"Destruction Gem? Is it the gem that can grant the power of a god to destroy anything?" Valor's surprise.
"Yep, the one and the same. It is guarded by ancient technology though, found that one out the hard way." Shrugging at the god.
"Then those machines don't know what the best tag team can do." The deity smiling, giving him a thumbs up.
"Haha, got that right." Elec grinning, returning the gesture.
Two old hearts reuniting after many years, moving onward together in this feverish stream. Both hearing loud sounds from above, enemies trying to discover their location. The deity's wandering mind, thinking back to the older times.
An enormous tower underneath the dusk, machines scattering everywhere. Foes trailing the entrance, the open path leading into the hellish place. The sounding alarm, red lights rapidly flashing, alerting to the intruders.
On the higher floor, Valor bursting through, his shining armor. Hastily crashing his katana into his targets, swiftly striking through them. Sealing them in an icy prison, soon sheathing his blade. Shattering the attacks, instantly ending their lives.
Giant gates shortly slamming down, the increasing heat in the place. The god quickly striking the open space ahead, unable to open a rift. This unsettling situation to him, soon hearing someone chuckling.
His attention ahead, watching a middle age general walking in. The person stopping a few feet away, his hands behind his back.
"Valor, I am well aware of your ice abilities. This room was specially designed to deal with you." His devious smile.
"Call me impressed a mortal can develop interesting technology like this. I suppose I have been careless not to further increase my abilities." The god's serious vision.
"Right you are, but that is a mistake you will not live to correct." The general raising his hand high.
Heavy movements from above, the deity's uneasy vision in the direction. Shortly witnessing the opening path, seeing an enormous mechanical beast descending. The giant foe standing on four legs, its massive six wings.
"In this room, you are no better than a mortal heh." The smirking man.
"To think the lives here could develop such monstrosities, was this what Odin meant? Have I truly been blind to what is happening down here?" Valor scowling a bit.
"Odin you say? Hah! He is the next one we will go after, and you will be a perfect test subject!" the general pointing at him.
The unrestful machine, that loudly screeching foe. Raising its sharp arms, hastily striking down. The deity quickly colliding against it, its powerful blow hitting him back on his feet. These swirling sentiments within him, an entity coming far.
His efforts to this point, an individual desiring to see a dream through to its end. Valor's quickly moving feet, striking at the enemy from every angle, his assaults not damaging it.
"Damn...what the hell is that thing made out of...?" the deity stepping back a bit.
"It has some alloys from the realm of the gods for one." The general chuckling.
"What? But how? That realm should be impossible for a mortal to reach." Glancing behind.
"We have our ways." The man's slight grin.
"Yeah, you have your ways, and we have ours!" a voice from above.
Elec descending from the opening above, a small device in his hand. Slamming it onto the machine's head, a violent electrical wave rapidly discharging.
The monster going out of control, running into the nearby walls, the room returning to its normal condition. The person soon landing next to Valor, giving him a thumbs up.
"Now is your chance Valor, it is open to your attacks!" Elec grinning.
"What have you done to it?!" the general shockingly stepping forward.
"You certainly know how to work wonders Elec, leave the rest to me." The deity bursting through the field.
An entity moving in the raging storm, quickly unsheathing his katana. Instantly striking through his enemy, entombing them in ice. Emerging from the other end, spreading his influence.
Freezing the general solid, horror in the man's eyes. The god shortly sheathing his blade, shattering the power, ending the machine and general.
Two companions constantly protecting one another, both proceeding along their route, keeping their promise to their heart. These blissful memories with Valor, emotions forever branding in him.
"So, I assume you're doing better now." Elec gesturing to him.
"Yeah. I have a wife, a daughter, and a son. Both children are grown, makes me feel like an old man haha." His hand behind his head.
"Glad to hear, but don't worry, you still look young haha." The man folding his arms.
"Good to know. My wife likes to play mind games at times, that devil-woman." His humorless look.
"Heh. Sorry for dragging you into this, your larger commitment is to them now." Sadly looking below.
"It is fine. I am not going to go back on our promise, I still do want us to share that dream we held long ago." Valor's gentle tone.
Those days Elec and I spent together are invaluable. I should have been here, to help him like he had done for me. While I cannot change the past, I can certainly be here now, so we can both make our dream into a reality.
