Chapter 96 – Slap and Lies
----------------------------------------
In the land controlled by the fighter’s guild, under a building where a secret tunnel lies hidden. The remaining members of the fighter’s guild and the folks of Lugenstan City quickly rush to the tiger mounts.
The Tiger Mounts is a twice as big as a normal tiger. Big legs, gigantic jaws, and muscled body, the tiger mounts were something that could allow the folks to escape by this specially built carriage alone.
On the secret tunnel lies four figures waiting for the others to escape. In one of the corners, specifically near the long halls of the tunnels, Ramiel and Sheriwn were hard at work in healing the soldiers.
Sheriwn was just a normal shop attendant but with how things are going. He decided to join the effort now with all of his wares destroyed. He manages to save up a few pills and medicines but other than that there was nothing he was able to salvage.
So at the moment, he is just joining the healing of the soldiers who are slowly being transported to the tiger mounts specially built carriage.
Behind Sheriwn was two people. The first one is a blonde young man holding an odd mechanical-like sword that gears on it, Eziel. The second person was the healed Witch Regina, Dall.
The two were the last able fighters in the guild. He may be a blacksmith, but Eziel is a great swordsman. He was trained in the way of the sword, to understand sword. So when he crafts one, he, as a swordsman would be able to identify what’s wrong with it.
Normally he was someone that didn’t want to fight. But with how things are going, he was forced to fight and it also is a matter of his survival.
Dall, who nearly died at the wall, was here because she felt obliged at the way she got save by Ramiel. If it wasn’t for Ramiel healing her when her ‘heart’ would explode, then things would have been tragic. Tragic that the Witch’s dominant power would awaken inside her, turning her into someone she will not be proud of.
That is why she thankful to Ramiel. Hence, seeing that Ramiel was still healing the fighters, she decided to stop her escape. She may be a staffer in the Guild, but other than that, she is a valuable asset to the Nation of Trapolstan.
Her escape would be prioritized but now she herself told them to hold on for a moment. She was waiting for Ramiel to finish off, hence the reason why Eziel didn’t escape because she was still here. Eziel was her bodyguard and her savior at the same time.
So how could he dare to abandon Dall and her kindness? It would be too merciless of him, not to mention that Ramiel who Eziel was guarding is healing his comrades. So Eziel could not say no, despite his worry that his beloved would get endangered.
It pains him to say here but nonetheless as long as she was here then he would stay.
He made a promise that he would protect her. And as someone, who originally found Dall in the deepest mines, and discovering the sword that binds her. He could not abandon Dall.
...
Ramiel healed the last one in a hurry. He was trembling in fear inside after one of the fighters veterans came to the secret tunnel speaking of Randal’s death. It made Ramiel want to scream despair, but seeing the quiet yet despairing look of the three that is with him, he didn’t dare to.
He wasn’t healing the fighters because he chooses to. In fact, he wanted to escape, take someone’s mount and get away from this place. But with Dall, the Witch, guarding him, he wasn’t able to act like a dirty coward. It pains Ramiel seeing that appreciative look in Dall’s eyes. Not to mention that Eziel, who obviously had affections at Dall was looking at her worriedly.

If it wasn’t for the watchful eyes of the two then he would have escape here with the help of Sheriwn. He has a plan, and it would require of wickedness.
Sheriwn told him of a mount that could them to a village named Sardis. This village is located near the sea, and according to Sheriwn, it is a perfect place for them to stay hidden. Ramiel agreed to this plan, but with Eziel and Dall watching them. He cannot proceed with the plan.
Currently, Sheriwn was looking at Ramiel with a bit of hurry. Sooner or later, the barbarians would find this tunnel, and the two, are still watching them. They probably expect Ramiel to board the tiger mounts, but with how things have gone, Ramiel didn’t want to be part of the guild. It was not worth the money, the danger for him to continue. So instead, he wanted to escape to Sardis.
“(Hurry up will you!)”
“(Let me think for a while...)”
“Just hurry! Those savages will be soon here!)”
Ramiel took a big breath and stood up. His right leg was in pain, he was pale too, and using this to make him more sympathetic. He said.
“You guys can leave without us.”
“What!”
Eziel and Dall replied.
“I probably can’t ride the carriage with my condition. And looking at myself, I say I don’t have much time. So please go now.”
“No, we are not leaving you behind.”
Eziel stepped forward with unbending will on his eyes. Ramiel saw that he smiled and then suddenly slapped Eziel right in the face.
“You fools!”
Slap!
Another slap came from Ramiel.
“What the fuck are you doing? I said we are staying here. Dall, you are in no position to fight you should have escaped a long time ago! And Eziel you dense fuck! How long are you going to be stupid and let your loved one stay in danger! I know that you are timid around Dall but it doesn’t mean that you have to grant her wish when she is in danger!”
Ramiel stayed at the guild for a while. So he noticed that Dall and Eziel spent a lot of time together. He fist suspected it when he saw them in the guild master’s office.
“But...”
“Don’t ‘but’ me you fools! Are you telling us that you don’t want us to stay here and heal the survivors?”
“Please understand our intentions,” Sheriwn added.
After hearing Ramiel and Sheriwn’s lies, Eziel bit his lip and said to Dall.
“Let’s go...”
‘But Eziel we can’t leave them behind!”
“Are you going to say that after hearing them!?”
“Please, Miss Dall...let us stay for the folks that might be alive.” Sheriwn bowed his head.
Seeing that, Dall grits her teeth. Ramiel can still see the hesitation on her, but suddenly Eziel flicked his right hand and Dall was knocked out. Eziel carried her on his shoulder.
“We are going now...please don’t die...the two of you.”
“We won’t.” Ramiel and Sheriwn said.
Eziel then left the building along with Dall. Seeing the two leave, Ramiel sighed as he then looks at Sheriwn and raised his thumb.
“What a bunch of suckers,” Sheriwn said.
“Let’s go...those savages are going to be arriving here.”
Ramiel said.
And then the two liars left the tunnels and went to the place where the mount Sheriwn was talking about is located.
