Chapter 16 – Glimpse of Fairy

Chapter 16 – Glimpse of Fairy

----------------------------------------

The next day, Felli went inside Ramiel’s room. She found him sitting on his bed. Looking at his throat first, Felli gestured towards Ramiel to follow her, by pointing at him, then to her, and then she made motions of her index and middle finger simulating that of a walk.

Ramiel understood those gestures as ‘Let’s go for a walk’. So he stood up away from his bed and took his cloak and wrapped himself with it.

Felli nodded her head in satisfaction that he understood her intentions. So she led the way downstairs and walked out of the Inn. Ramiel followed behind her with a confused expression.

Felli didn’t really know how to tell him that she wants him healed up. So she just pointed at his throat, formed a claw with her hand, and pulled it. Seeing it, Ramiel’s face contorted in fear. He saw those gestures as her grabbing the swollen part and ripping it away.

“No, no, no.” Felli shook her head.

Ramiel still didn’t understand so the fear in his face didn’t disappear. Felli felt a bit irritated about trying to explain so she just continued walking along the snowy road.

Their destination is on the business street. Felli knew a healer there that is much proficient in the healing arts than her. So she thought that healer might be able to Ramiel from his condition.

It took the two a while before they arrived in the business street. Felli scanned the street for the building she was looking for. She saw it and left Ramiel behind for now as she enters the building.

As Felli enters the building and finds the certain healer she knows. She started speaking about Ramiel’s condition. The Healer listened to Felli in detail, as she describes what’s happening to Ramiel.

Meanwhile, Ramiel who is outside in the streets looked up at the busy crowd, they are wearing fur clothing and buying goods. As usual, they are a lot of them. Even though the cold is rather chilling, it doesn’t stop the vendors from selling. Partially, the reason for this is because of the cold act as good preserver to their goods. So in other words, the merchants don’t have to worry that much about their goods, unlike certain seasons. Of course, there are problems that arise when they sell during heavy snow too.

But still, the urge to earn money won’t stop them. Not to mention, that there are people that want to buy.

This is business as usual in the marketplace. Ramiel observed the street with his eyes half close. He is still waiting for Felli, so he just stood like a statue.

The marketplace sure is packed as usual. The merchants, the locals aren’t really letting the snow put them down.

A weary smile appeared on Ramiel’s face. He still in pain due to his throat, he won’t deny that it hurts and at the moment he rather stays inside. But since Felli asked him to walk with her, he chooses not to complain externally.

I really hope Felli doesn’t really rip this swollen throat of mine. Surely she wouldn’t right?

Ramiel feared deeply inside. He is anxious to why he is here. And that is why even though he is standing like a statue right now, Ramiel thinks that sooner or later he might move around.

Great, Now I am actually scared. Good job to me. Ramiel thought inside his head. His eyes continued looking around endlessly around the streets. From the cobblestone road, the stone buildings and street lamps fueled by oil.

Standing on the side of the road, Ramiel would sometimes feel a cast of a glance towards him. It is his imagination, partly because of the worries he has. As he looks around more, he then saw a figure in the distance.

Wearing a robe and a sword on her waist, the person Ramiel saw has golden locks. Her hair fluttered as she moves gracefully through the crowd while carrying goods in her hands.

Her appearance made her look like an angel towards Ramiel. He stared at her and took a glimpse of her. He found her appearance too beautiful, that he could not look away from her. Stunned, baffled, and unable to move his jaws. Ramiel stared at the jeweled blue eyes of her as if completely spellbound.

The woman felt the stare of Ramiel. Looking at where the source of the stare is coming from. Catherine saw Ramiel’s figure looked upon her. She stopped for a while and squinted. She observed Ramiel for a while. And then as she was observing, she thought:

That man looks familiar. Hmm, that cloak he is wearing. Oh yeah, that seems to be that emotional man. He seems alright now...though I wonder why he is staring at me so much. Is there something in my face?

Catherine touched her face and checked if there is anything wrong. Finding nothing, she tilted her head and wondered.

There seems to be no problem. Oh, maybe he wants to greet me?

Thinking that Catherine nods her head towards Ramiel.

Ramiel who saw that nod became more of a statue. He felt rather embarrassed for staring too much and stiffly nodded his head too.

Catherine saw that and thought: It looks like I was right. Hmm, what a weird man, I never really got his name since he wasn’t able to understand me. Oh well, I have no time for that. I need to go back to the matriarch.

As her duties preside over her curiosity, Catherine looked forward and started walking.

Ramiel, who was watching from the distance, saw Catherine’s back disappearing. I wonder what her name is. He thought. He is extremely grateful to her for saving his life. So he would rather like to hear her name and thank her.

But I guess that is impossible at the moment.

Ramiel sighed deeply as he thought of that. He really doesn’t know about the woman who saves his life. And for Ramiel, she is like a fairy that would just suddenly appear. So finding her seems too hard.

Maybe someday, I will be able to thank her and know her name.

He thought of that possibility. As he does, Felli who was inside the building came out and gestured for Ramiel to come inside. Turning his legs around, Ramiel walked to the doors of the building.
