Chapter 90 – Interlude: Reaper and Demoness

----------------------------------------

In the lands of the dark elven, the soil is shaded with gray. Not because the soil is infertile for growth but because the land is different from the rest of the Hillines continent. The Ven Continent is just next to the borders of the Hillines.

Separated by imaginary border lines, the Ven continent is divided into four territories. The Territory of the Elven, the Dark Elvens, the Dwarvens, and the Halven, which is mostly usurped by the halve ones, Halflings who possesses two types of blood.

The four territories have different ‘soil’ due to the Leylines of the continent being extremely filled with energy. The dark elven territory took the wasteland like part because of the moon presence which can be fully seen there. The dwarven took the mountains simply for the bountiful ores and their likeliness to live on the mountainsides.

The Halflings took the normal parts of the territory.

The Dark Elven land has a strange color when it is evening. Right now, the land is gray with the sun present. It will turn to purple once the moon arrives.

Now, in some part of the dark elven lands, a man wearing a black duster longcoat, and a tricorn hat sat on top of a hill. This hill was covered in a violet barrier and with the wind around, the man with the long black hair tied in a ponytail fluttered as he looks at the barrier.

This man was none other than Julian Nostredame.

He was sitting cross-legged on the ground. His broken cleaver sword lays in front him. He was strangely calm, as the dark elvens he was supposed to drag in the dark elven lands made a reversal. Using their own soul as fuel, they trapped him in this violet barrier.

Julian can destroy barriers with ease. As long as it is something that can be destroyed then he can take care of it. But right now, he is facing a soul barrier, the purest barrier that anyone could conjure. Julian cannot destroy something that invulnerable easily.

He tried but it broke his cleaver sword, not to mention that the dark elvens are pouring their own life force to the barrier, making the barrier last longer than he expected. It has been weeks since he got trapped in this place, and now he regrets not slaughtering them.

The Dark Elvens encircled the hill. A string like energy connects their souls to the barrier, and as this barrier lasts, their life force slowly extinguishes like a candle. They have done this to make sure that their schemes will succeed.

After all, in the minds of the Dark Elvens, Julian Nostredame is the greatest threat. He is the sole reason that the Kingdom of Lin can prosper. Just by his brute strength and devotion, he can fend off any external threat. Heck, even at his first slaughter, he killed most of the prime barbarians.

So now that they manage to trap him in a soul barrier, they are willing to thaw their life away! It is a single chance and they do not dare to waste it

“This barrier will soon fade...at most it will a week from now,” Julian said.

“No matter, we may not able to stop you. But we can delay you. That is enough for our plan to work.”The Dark Elven said.

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

“Plan... can you tell me about this plan of yours,” Julian said.

“All you need to know is that it won’t involve the beloved matriarch of yours.”The Dark Elven said.

The Dark Elven didn’t dare to press the buttons that would make Julian Nostredame rage. The Dark Elven knows too well that doing so would only invoke his unrelenting fury. The Dark Elven saw his fury a long time ago, and even though the Dark Elven’s life thaws away, the Dark Elven doesn’t dare to forget that lesson.

“That is assuring...though even though you want time...it would still be all over the moment I get out,” Julian said.

“It doesn’t matter. We just don’t like you interfering with our plans. We made a deal with the barbarians, and we will have them take a city. You will not interfere and we will not allow it.”

“You are doing all of this for the barbarians, how sad,” Julian said.

“We care lest of your opinion,” the Dark Elven said. “The Barbarians has something they can offer to us. And we simply want what they offer...for the sake of our land and our race. And knowing your Matriarch, she will not spare a moment to think about sending help for anyone who fights against the barbarians.”

The Dark Elven then flinched. He could feel that his soul is wavering out. His time has nearly come.

“I see. Good luck with that then, everyone has something to protect, I know that well and you should know that too. As long as the Kingdom of Lin is fine, then I will NOT be angry...but the moment I found out, that the Kingdom of Lin has been attacked, or its loyal servants destroyed. I will have this land coated in flames, your people’s blood in the soil, your beloved screaming in agony.”

“How cruel...” The Dark Elven said as his life forces fade.

“What a terrible thing to say for a ‘Hero’.”Another Dark Elven said.

“Hero...you misunderstand me Dark Elven...I am only a hero to a certain someone, I am what you call a slave to only one.”

“How sad that you can only be that...”

“What the...”

Julian Nostredame suddenly widens his eyes the moment he heard the voice of the Dark Elven changed. He immediately stood up, and what he saw was a familiar face he has not seen for years now. Bluish hair filled with energy, pale skin of snow, a face finely sculpted by the Gods. The woman who spoke of those words was someone who’s beauty could conquer nations.

“Meia...you are alive?” Julian said.

“And you thought I died? I am offended...did you really think that mere dungeon could kill me?”

“No...This is impossible! I saw you die in that dungeon!”

“Do you mean that I can easily die by protruding rocks falling from the top? I am offended again Julian. Not to the mention, for you to forget about me...and for you to fall for someone, and so obsessed too...how disgusting. It seems all of what we have was nothing but a spur of the moment.”

“Tsk!”

Julian panicked as he saw Meia’s blue hair lighten up. Her hair is filled with the utmost energy, even stronger than the child he saved them from the Dark Elvens. And seeing it lit up, can only be called as dangerous.

“Damn it!”

Julian put power on his fist as he destroys the barrier without mercy. Fearing as he was, he could not allow himself to be trapped anymore. Especially when Meia, the demoness, the original Witch who was trapped in the dungeon he was drop at a long time ago, would be taking the reins.

For him to be trapped would only mean that he will be trapped with her. To Julian, Meia WAS someone he can trust, but now that she was alive, and is at the top of the world without the Nephilim’s dungeon holding her back. Julian fears the worst!

“JULIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN DON’TRY TO ESCAPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE AGAIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN”

Julian felt shivers on his back as he hears Meia’s cackling voice, he knows it himself that he is strong, but even so, it doesn’t mean that he cannot be scared, especially when the one he gave hope, the one he filled with determination and love, and the one he broke with betrayal chasing him! And not to mention, Meia was someone who could possibly defeat him!

So Julian Nostredame...has no choice but to run away!
