Chapter 82 – Barbarian
----------------------------------------
The Fighter’s Guild is loud today.
Many of the fighters were gathering in a circle, observing something in the middle. Ramiel walks alongside Dall as they step inside the guild. He sniffed suddenly, as he smells the blood on the air. Looking in another direction, he saw that some of the guild members were bleeding.
“So am I supposed to treat that group right?” He pointed at the fighters with blood on their arms.
“Yeah, please take care of them,”Dall replied, nodding her head.
Ramiel nodded as he walks to the injured fighters. He ignored the rabble on the middle of the guild since he expects it to be a troublesome one. The Fighters noticed the limping Ramiel as they look at his direction. They smiled, expecting healing from him.
Ramiel went to them. He extended both of his hand as a glow of light enveloped them. His face twitched as he does this. He didn’t know why but when he uses miracles, there is a painful feeling that throbs inside him. He doesn’t know what it is so he just sucks it up.
“That feels nice...”
“It hurts...what kind of healing magic is this?”
“It really tickles, but I do feel that it is effective.”
“I think my flesh is being put back together. Is this normal doc?”
The Fighters complained one after another. Ramiel gave them the same blank expression as he does his healing. Complaining won’t shut them up, so instead of agonizing over it. Ramiel decided that being indifferent to their whining and giving himself a peace of mind is much better.
He thought that worrying about anything external won’t help him. The world outside himself, the thing he perceives with his eyes is a cruel maiden that will bring him down. So instead of weeping, he will just endure. He realized it a week ago, and when he got some time to think about the world he is in.
Instead of praying and hoping for things not to go south, Ramiel instead inverted his thought. He decided that he should expect things to happen. So when it comes, he would be ready to deal with it. It is a thinking of expecting things to happen.
He will be okay, and the worst thing that might happen is that he somehow dies. Ramiel had enough of crying over what he considers now as parts of his life. However, just because he thinks now this way, it won’t mean that he would suddenly stop acting like what he truly is.
Self-acceptance, and all of that, it will matter in his head. It is just that he wants a peace of mind rather than go insane. Things out of his control will be something he will look with a step back. Right now he just considers this world as a dream.
So Ramiel was now a bit calmer.
Although it could be just the habitual smoking and drinking doing this.
But the fact that it makes him feel better is true.
...
Healing was over for the fighters. Ramiel gave them booze or at least pointed them to the nearest place where they could buy a drink. This gesture actually made the fighters raise their thumbs up in approval towards Ramiel. Normally, the healers would mouth them off about taking a rest. But Ramiel, who doesn’t know how doctors or healers usually act, just told them to do what they want.

It is their life so let them do what they want, is what Ramiel thought. These men are always at death’s door, so letting them live their own life is something that Ramiel won’t even bother. Besides, they look fine, so unless they lost a limb or two, then Ramiel would tell them off.
Now, what to do?
Ramiel rested in one of the tables after treating the fighters. He was exhausted, and his mana was half drained, after casting a multi-healing spell. One by one, it would cost less mana, but by using a mass spell like that, this happened.
As he waits the commotion in the middle got worse. Many of the fighters were discussing what to do with the people that are in the middle of the fighters. Ramiel’s ears caught and took note that those people are barbarians. He was a bit curious about what they would do to the barbarians.
The people in the guild started arguing. The Guild Master called to manage the commotion. He is currently trying to think how things will go from now.
Ramiel stayed in his seat. Dall joined him, as she worriedly looks at the situation. Most of the receptionists are already out of their positions. They join the commotion, screaming for the barbarians to be killed already.
The people of Hillines Continent, whether they came from the Kingdom of Lin or in the Nation of Trapolstan, they have one opinion. They hate the barbarians that live north, just near the borders, which separate the Kingdom of Deus and the savage lands.
The Hillines Continent hated them for their constant invasion. And only through the work of five nations, and the slaughter that the War Maiden of the Kingdom of Lin, and it’s reaper that the barbarian invasion got quelled. It was a tough time during those days, so it is to be expected that the folks living in constant barbarian threat would be this hateful towards them.
“I have enough of this nonsense already! Guild Master, if you won’t decide then I will, with my hand!”
An angry voice sounded out. A fighter has sheathed his weapon and was about to kill the barbarians. The fighters got surprised. None of them was about to move fast enough to stop the man from drawing blood!
Yet despite that...the unexpected happened.
One of the barbarians loosened his cuffs and blocked the blow with the bone bracer he has in his right arm. With the sword being blocked, the barbarian took the chance, and crushed the fighter’s head with a single blow!
Blood splattered on the ground.
The Fighters draw out their blades as the barbarian who managed to loosen his cuff launched towards the window. And as this barbarian flees, the one who is sitting near the window, Ramiel, looked at the barbarian, as if he expected that such accident to happen.
