Chapter 104 – Paranoia Carefulness
----------------------------------------
Peronell and Abby went to check the guards. They were fine mostly but they were still injured. Abby can cast healing spells, but with how she focused most on being the only mage, she wasn’t that good.
“We should call Ser Healer.” one of the guards said.
Hearing the guard, Abby nodded her head and told one of them to go and asked for the healer. But before the guard goes, Abby handed out a blue pill. Taking the pill with him, the guard went to the house where the Healer is staying. After a few minutes, he went back along with the healer.
“He is here Miss.”
Peronell took a looked at the slow walking, limping Ramiel. He was deathly pale, his hair was unkempt and long, and he had the look of someone who wants to sleep. He didn’t look good as usual.
“Ser Ramiel, can you please heal them?”
“Sure.”
Ramiel wasn’t really that sociable. So he just went with what he was told and started healing the guards, there was a bit of conversation, but it was short. Ramiel was polite to the guards, and he was too dragged about it that he just kept silent.
“So you lured him out with that pill?” Peronell said.
“Painkillers, yes, either that or a bit of gold or ale makes him move.”
“Really huh, and you are telling me this man can take me down?” Peronell pointed at Ramiel’s back.
Abby scratch the tip of her chin, “Who knows he might be able to do something. Really, I wonder what he is like when he is not intoxicated.”
“And he is drunk too. Really, even I can somehow fight him like this with just one hand behind my back!”Peronell says that with confidence.
Abby replied, “Well it is good that you are confident my cousin, but really I hope you don’t kick him out. I mean look at him”
Peronell turned to Ramiel. He seems to be just getting along with the guards. But mostly the guards were patting his back, and Ramiel seems like he is just ignoring the guards.
“He looks like is just getting along, no, more like the guards like playing with him. What the hell?”
“Yeah, it seems that our healer is a bit of an eccentric don’t you think?” Abby said.
“You are calling him ‘our ‘healer. Don’t tell me you are okay with him staying in my house?”
“Of course not, it is just that I would like a knowledgeable healer as our village’s doctor?”
This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.
“Really, is this guy even a certified healer?” Peronell asked.
“Who knows, but I can see that his good at it at least?”
“Really?” Peronell looked at Ramiel. She could not see any trace of a professional healer towards him. She’d know one if she sees one simply because of her stay in the dungeon continent. She has seen a lot of professional healer and doctors so she can’t be easily fooled.
This guy is at most a beginner...but the way he heals them is quite weird.
“Is there something wrong cousin, you are staring at him intensely.”
“I think this guy is no true healer. But I can admit that he is somewhat trained in some sort of procedure.”
Peronell said what she thinks. Indeed Ramiel isn’t a great healer by this world’s standard, but even so, Ramiel with his modern world knowledge and his first aid training can heal quite well. Not because Ramiel is particularly smart, but mainly because it has been crammed inside his head during Hall lectures and when there are professionals outside his school teaching them about medicine.
Peronell obviously doesn’t know that Ramiel comes from a modern world she just finds it weird. It bothers her a bit, but nonetheless, seeing Ramiel stoically heals the guards made her feel less suspicious.
...
Everyone was on the shore. The dead Saurian is still on the beach, and with the blood of the Saurian still spilling. The other Saurian that was with the Saurian followed and saw its dead kin. The Saurian was a bit angered, and as it does, it readied itself for an ambush.
“Hmm what is that?”
Peronell heard the sound of water and when she turned around she saw a saurian pouncing at Abby!
It was too late for to conjure her bow and was about to push Abby away when suddenly.
“Holy Chains!”
A long chain came out of nowhere and held the Saurian down. Peronell looked at where the chains are coming from and saw Ramiel extending his palm at the saurian.
“How did you...”
“I was paranoid...I thought that some creature might attack again, since seeing that dead one. It looks like being scared save me again.”
Saying that Ramiel focused his eyes at the Saurian and put strength on his left arm, with that he then controlled the elemental bracer and use the thunder element on his bracer.
Volts of Electricity then flowed at the holy chains. It zapped the Saurian enough to fry the beast. Peronell was quite impressed but she saw Ramiel heavily panting. His eyes were bloodshot, his body was trembling and she could see him gritting his teeth.
“Are you okay?”
“Just a bit overcast...that’s all.”
“You don’t look okay and being overcast with that one spell...Is your magic capacity low?”
“Sadly it is, and casting one while I was healing these guys made me this way.”
“I see...” Peronell said.
“Thank you for that. To think that you would be able to cast that thing immediately” Abby who recovered from shock said.
“It’s fine...besides, as someone who is easily scared, I am paranoid about things going back, and with that I usually ready myself.”
“That’s great!” Abby said.
“Not really...it is just a coward’s way to cope with this shit world,” Ramiel said that lowly.
Peronell was able to hear him though. As a dungeon explorer, one of the most priced assets she had was her hearing. So obviously she could hear something that low.
“Anyway thank you for that!” Abby said.
“It’s okay...” Ramiel was done healing the soldiers so he stood up. “May I go now?”
“Ah sure, good work Ser Ramiel, thank you for the assistance!” Abby said.
Hearing that, Ramiel limply walk away from the shores and head back to his house.
Peronell watched Ramiel’s back and thought that what Abby said can be right. It looks like the man won’t be that easy to fight with considering how paranoid he is.
